I am 42 years old and live in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. I currently have a furry family of three cats (one male, two female), a small dog (female jack russell), a 5-month-old pup, an indoor rabbit, three outdoor rabbits, two guinea pigs. I have also previously loved and lost a bearded dragon, tortoise and hamster. So I have a good range of experience with different animals.
What qualifies me to take care of your loved one(s)? For as long as I can remember I've wanted to work with animals and studied for a HND (Higher National Diploma) in Animal Studies for which I was awarded a Merit in 2001. In terms of practical experience, as well as studying course modules in animal handling and husbandry (amongst others), I also have years of experience of caring for my own animals.
In addition, my family ran a cattery when I was younger and in my late teens and early twenties I would support my mother with booking in new guests and making sure they were comfortable. I also have experience of administering medication as my precious pooch, Oliver (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), lived to be a ripe old age and needed insulin and diuretics in his twilight years. I have also administered oral medications via syringe.
Why choose me? I'm the right petsitter or dog walker for you if you are looking for someone trustworthy to come in and look after your beloved pets and home whilst you are away, caring for them as if they were my own. I will NEVER physically reprimand and believe strongly in praise-led training.
I have a lot of empathy for all creatures - great and small.

Penny did an excellent job again and kept us updated twice a day on Silwen! We loved getting the photos! Would definitely recommend!
I booked 10 days with Penny, 1 visit per day for my cat Toffee.
She did the first visit, not for long as we had only left for our holiday that afternoon, which was fine as she had said she would roll the time over into another visit but that never happened. It was late in the day and she told me she would visit around noon each day so that's what I expected for the following 9 days.
Sunday no visit was made. I informed Penny that my Mum had fed Toffee that morning but I did not mean to say she didn't need to go but she took it as that and no visit was made at all. I wasn't paying for just feeding it was also interaction and play that he needed.
Monday she did pay a visit, she played with Toffee and fed and watered him. The litter tray was checked. It was later than noon, no problem but rather than say a specific time it would have been better to just be honest and say it could be different times each day.
Tuesday my sister visited in the morning and she spent about 2 hours there then later in the day around 9pm my sister went back. Penny told me her Husband had been between then and played with the cat but as I have a camera in the living room I can be certain no visit was made that day by Penny or her Husband.
I was anxious from the Sunday when she didn't turn up and being told a lie just compounded my anxiety. She didn't know my sister had been visiting and for all she knew Toffee had been alone since the day before and noone there to feed or water him.
I'm highly disappointed in the service. It worries me as I am lucky to have had my sister around, and a camera to allow me to see what's going on remotely otherwise I would have been totally unaware that only 2 of the 4 visits up to that point had been made and my poor cat could have potentially been left without food for over 24hours.
I got the keys back from Penny and cancelled the arrangement as I had zero confidence left. I was preparing to come home as my sister was not available to look after my pet later in the week but fortunately after some sorting I managed to get someone else as well as my sister to look after him.
It has put me off using the service in future and I will just try to use family and neighbours instead and pay them.
