About Phil
I always ensure I provide great overall care by observing and assisting pet surroundings, behaviour, spending a good amount of time to gain trust and staying in touch with parents for updates such as pics/videos/messages.
I have used various services successfully such as borrowmydoggy and rover as my main motivation is I enjoy long walks as I find it a very relaxing and motivating task to unwind. I can generally do longer 2hr+ walks and more time assisting pets with no extra charge!
I can cat board only and can't dog board. Please message first and I can make this option available.
CATS 😺
I take a mindful and attentive approach with cat care. Such as ensuring they feel safe around me by allowing time for them to approach and give me permission to touch them.
I can cat sit in my home, I have a large flat where I live alone and is very clean and comfortable, however it would ideally be suitable for cats that dont bite plants and happy in new environments. I have non toxic plants to cats but ideally we dont want them ingesting things they shouldnt!
While feeding cats, I like to ensure they have:
- Cleaned bowls after every meal
- Fresh water ideally slightly away from food
- Adding small amount of water to wet food to encourage more liquid in their diet if needed.
- Breaking down some treats and adding to dry food for variety.
- Use ceramic or stainless steel bowls with wide circumference to prevent whisker fatigue.
Care & Stimulation:
- Depending on personalities I like to play with cats using toys and rewarding with pets or treats.
- Providing a calm, quiet & safe space by chilling with them and allowing them to sit with me.
- At the minimum I always make sure litter trays are cleared up daily and ideally after every use.
- Depending on cat needs I try to groom them with a brush every 2-3 days.
- Clear and clean any bedding daily and deep clean litter trays every week.
DOGS 🦮
I enjoy playing with dogs that have more adventurous personalities and taking it slow with more easy going needs such as providing longer walks, regular visits and time to sit together.
I particularly enjoy and can provide longer calm walks 2+ hours with no extra charge for dogs that need more outdoor time!
I'm an active and attentive dog walker where I will take note from owners instructions beforehand of importance such as off lead walking, personalities and how well socialised they are.
