My experience caring for pets

I've been regularly cat sitting since 2020 and currently care for 10 pets on a regular basis when their owners are away.

I grew up with two cats at home, taking an active role in their care from a young age. This is where my love of cats came from and gave me an instinctive understanding of their behaviour.

I have experience as a fosterer for a cat rescue, where I received training in cat welfare and behaviour. This has given me a thorough understanding of cats' needs and their care.

I've cared for cats of all different ages (from 8-week old kittens to senior cats) and with differing levels of comfort around people.

I work full time, but with semi-flexible hours I'm able to accommodate early morning and late afternoon/evening visits.

I feel most happy and confident when i'm around cats and love getting to know different cats and their personalities. I'd love to meet yours!

30-minute drop-in visits

I'm available for up to two drop-in visits per day - typically between 06:30-08:30 and 17:30-20:00.

When I arrive, I’ll greet your cat with a gentle approach, helping them feel comfortable around me. If your cat is social enough, we’ll usually start with some fun playtime and/or petting to make sure they’re happy and feeling loved.

After we've had some fun, I’ll prepare their meal just the way you’ve instructed and make sure their water bowl is fresh and clean. As well as keeping bowls and feeding areas clean, I’ll also take care of the litter tray, keeping it tidy and pleasant for your cat. I can also give oral medication (in food) if needed, following your instructions (no injections though).

Additional services

In addition to taking care of your cat, I’m happy to put out bins for collection days, collate mail, and water plants. I’ll make sure to send you at least one photo update every visit, so you can see how your cat is doing. If there are any changes or concerns, I’ll inform you right away.

Security

To keep your home secure I can:

• Ensure any used doors/windows are locked before leaving and upon returning.
• Use indoor lights in the evening to give the appearance that someone is home.
• Follow any specific security instructions you provide, such as setting alarms or using security systems.
• Be vigilant about unusual activity around the home and report any concerns to you immediately.

Dedicated play sessions

I'm a strong believer in the role of play in cat welfare and offer dedicated cat play sessions, designed to keep your pet active, stimulated, happy and healthy. Perfect for indoor cats, kittens, busy owners or anyone who appreciates the power of play in reducing boredom, common feline health issues and improving mental health. Think of it as "personal training" and enrichment for your cat - tailored to their personality, age and play style. If you're interested, just book as a drop-in visit, mentioning that it is a "play session only".
