My name is Mariann, I am a relatively new pet sitter. I am doing this jointly with my husband because he drives a car and I don’t so I need him to chauffeur me around. We are in our mid-thirties and we both work as admin assistants.
We have 7 beautiful cats (including a shy feral who lives in our backgarden) and because we go away 2-3 times a year, we do use pet sitters to take care of them and I know how stressful it is to leave the kids (and the house) in the hands of a stranger (or even a friend), especially when you are a born worrier like me. We will take good care of your pet(s) and give you regular updates so you can relax and enjoy your holiday.
Our cats have very different personalities and different needs (deaf, fat and toothless, treat-addict, lapcat, shy, regal etc), we will do our best to give your pet what he/she needs whether it is cuddles, play time or to be left alone after feeding.
We also had hamsters a few years ago and some goldfish in our garden pond. My husband used to have dogs, I have had cats most of my life, a few budgies and a turtle for about 20 years. When I was younger, I used to petsit for my friend’s family when they went on holidays, they had a cat, a rabbit, a guinea pig and fishes.
I have completed an online Pet Sitting course as well as a practical Pet First Aid course organised by the PDSA. You can see my diploma and certificate amongst my photos.
Although cats are our „area of expertise”, we are happy to take care of other animals, too. Even creepy crawlies are fine as long as we are given clear instructions how to take care of them.
Whilst we don't offer a dog walking service on its own, if you go on a holiday and require daily visits for your dog(s) left at home, we would consider including a daily walk as a part of our pet sitting service, however, we would probably charge a higher fee for that.
My husband and I both work full time, during office hours, so visits will be done very early in the morning and/or later in the evening. Morning visits will have to be short but after work we will have more time to keep your baby company.
We are also happy to water flowers and put the bin out on bin day if that is required.
My husband gets DBS checked every year as this is required for his job (he works in a hospital).
Mariann and Manish were absolutely brilliant as ever! Nothing was too much for them, even though they had to look after our 6 young playful dogs! Mariann sent us a summary of each visit, telling us how each dog was doing, and always addressing any concerns we had in a prompt manner. Our dogs managed to dig holes in the mesh that was blocking them from getting behind our garden shed, Mariann and Manish tried to repair it but it wasn't possible so they blocked the way with other things to make sure our dogs didn't get hurt, which was much appreciated. They also always watched our dogs during meal times to make sure that they didn't choke as they eat too fast.
They cleaned the poops from the garden every day and cleaned accidents in the house too from our messy pups. Our dogs also got plenty of cuddles and attention which they loved so much. Thank you so much for the brilliant service and for being reliable amazing people!! 👍
This is the second time that we are leaving our kitties to be looked after by Mariann. She visited us first time before the days we were going away. She has been communicative during the days we were away and now we feel very confident that the next time we can trust Mariann to look after our kitties.
