About Helena and Ollie 24/7 Care

PLEASE READ IN FULL BEFORE ENQUIRING !!! 😀 :

UPDATED on 12/12/21 - DAY CARE/BOARDING DURATION: Boarding lasts 24 hours, if you need your pet to stay longer than this please make sure you also book day care for the next day. Day care lasts a maximum of 9 hours. We are now only accepting two bookings at a time maximum, so please make sure you book your dates with enough notice not to miss out! At the moment we are not taking any more new regular weekly day care guests, so new guests will only be accepted if they are looking for boarding.

"TEST" NIGHT: For dog boarding stays longer than 1 night we require that you book a one night test stay before leaving your dog with us when you go on holidays. This is because some dogs can change behaviours significantly once their owners are not present.

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: To ensure the health & safety of all our guests and our own dogs, we require that you send us a photo of your pet's vaccination card prior to attending the meet & greet! Please DO NOT bring your dog if they have recently displayed any signs of ilness, including coughing, vomiting, loose stools or signs of worms or fleas. We also require that you send us details of your pet's emergency contact (not yours) and vet.
LATENESS: If you are running late or if you think you might be late please let us know asap, as we are always very busy with our own dogs and guest dogs, and have walking and update schedules to adhere to.
WE HAVE SIX DOGS: To get to know our dogs in more detail and know what to expect from us, please check our dogs' profiles at the bottom of our page and our FAQs before enquiring!

DISCLAIMER AND EXCEPTIONS: All our dogs are wormed and flead regularly and their vaccines are up-to-date. We ONLY accept bookings from dogs whose vaccines, worming and fleaing are up-to-date. We CANNOT accept bookings from dogs with a history of aggressive behaviour. We also cannot accept bookings from dogs who will compulsively try to hump other dogs or display symptoms of severe separation anxiety (serious damage to property like biting holes in walls, vomiting, non-stop peeing in the house, agressive behaviour, non-stop crying). The reason for this is because we want a pleasant and stress-free environment for our own dogs and our guests. We can only accept big dogs if they're not too barky or reactive, as our dogs tend to be scared of big dominant dogs. Unfortunately we don't accept bookings from dogs that weigh less than 3kgs as we think our home is a bit too hectic for very delicate dogs (example:chihuahua).

WALKS: We guarantee at least one walk a day (plus quick toilet breaks if your dog doesn't use the garden), at no extra cost. Usually our guests are too tired for more, after playing with our dogs all day!

Note: For cat or exotics home boarding please book as dog boarding, we don't do visits.

PLAYFUL PUG ALERT: As all pugs, ours are very playful and dislike personal space, so if your dog can't tolerate this we might not be the right place for you. As we are usually very busy, please only book a meet & greet if you definitely need pet care.
*Special Announcement: We are delighted to announce that we now work full time with Pawshake so your pet will never be alone throughout their stay!*

"Hello!

We are Susana-Helena and Ollie, a married couple that loves to provide pets with a homely, safe, clean, cosy and fun environment and takes pride in seeing your pets thrive during their stay with us. We have five small dogs (two pugs, a chug and a frug) and one medium puppy (staffie xl bully cross). All of them are fun-loving, young, energetic and love to meet new dogs and provide them with lots of play time and entertainment!
I have a CPD accredited Vet Assistant diploma as well as a CPD accredited Pet Sitter and Dog Walker diploma. I also have a CPD accredited diploma in Pet First Aid and CPR. We both have DBSs that show clear criminal records, please see our certificates in our picture gallery. The garden is fully fenced up and the gate is safe and secured. We are a smoke-free, alcohol-free clean home that is a safe and pleasant place for pets of all kinds.
We've had extensive experience taking care of a wide range of dog breeds, from pugs to samoyeds, huskies, dachshunds, french bulldogs, weimaraners to basset hounds, shih tzus, american springer spaniels, cavalier king charles spaniels, cocker spaniels, golden retrievers, cavapoos, cockapoos, cavachons, bichon frises, sprockers, vizslas, german schnauzers, border collies, poodles, corgis, staffies, welsh terriers and many more!
While you're away, we will update you with pictures, videos and frequent updates on your pet. We can also take care of your pet even if they are on medication for chronic conditions and we have contacts of emergency vets and contact of a pet taxi (subject to availability).
Sometimes we use Pawfit 2 Pet Trackers on our guests during walks for extra peace of mind. These are GPS real-time trackers that are especially useful for dogs that like to run off lead but don't have 100% recall. We usually walk our guests and our own dogs in various shifts throughout the day, usually just two dogs at a time. We also have CCTV in our garden, patio, living room, kitchen and front door for added security. For dogs that prefer to chill out on the sofa, we have a specially fitted dog door with access to the garden so they can go in and out when they want! I work part-time only from home and Ollie is available to provide your pet with 24/7 care (he now only works with Pawshake) so our pets and guests are never alone!
For cats there's a small cat-only area with access to the rooms upstairs. We both have a lot of experience looking after cats, as we've both been cat owners in the past. Cats are kept separate from the dogs at all times (as much as our pugs would love to play with your cat, we are aware that not many cats will tolerate dogs). We've also had extensive experience looking after exotic pets, from bearded dragons to tarantulas, snakes, rabbits, huge koi fish, rats and even pigs!
We also offer regular socialising sessions for your dog if you want to bring them just for the day (please book this as doggy day care). This is great for young puppies and for dogs that usually don't spend time with other dogs!

Your pet will have a great holiday with us, with plenty of attention, play, and as many cuddles as they can handle! :)

Please contact us, day or night!

Thank you."

*FAQs*

"What types of guests do you usually get?"

We mainly get guests that are small to medium sized dogs.

"My dog chases cats, can I still book in with you?"

Yes, as cats are kept separate at all times.

"My puppy/kitten is very young, will you accept them as guests?"

Yes, we have a lot of experience looking after very young guests, however we can only accept puppies that weigh at least 3 kilos. This rule does not apply to kittens, as they are kept separate from the dogs.

"Is there anything else I should know or do to prepare for the meet & greet?"

Dogs are highly perceptive animals, so your dog can sense their owner's feelings and reflect them. For this reason, we request that you attend the meet & greet with an open mind and a relaxed and calm attitude, as this will help your dog adapt to a new environment and trust new people and new dogs much quicker. Avoid immediately picking up your dog or give affection if your dog shows signs of nervousness, as this will only reinforce their behaviour. Nervousness when facing new environments is normal and part of life. All of our guests so far have become friends with our dogs within hours of meeting and a lot of them even start playing with our dogs immediately! A relaxed owner = a relaxed dog🙂

"Where will my dog sleep?"

If you've booked an overnight stay (boarding) your dog may sleep with our dogs in the kitchen, or in our bedroom. Feel free to bring your dog's bed and/or crate. We are flexible with requests, and will do everything to make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible during their stay. As cats are more independent, they usually like to sleep in the cat room 😸

"Can I bring my kids to the meet and greet?"

We don't recommend this because having children present during the first time that your dog/dogs meet ours might cause overexcitement which isn't ideal for a first meet, it might also make your dog more protective. But feel free to bring your kids any time after the first meet! Our dogs love children and children love them.

"My dog's vaccine booster is overdue by a few weeks because our vet is very busy. Is this okay?"

Vaccine boosters are effective up to one month past their due date. However, if your dog's booster is overdue by more than one month, you will have to wait until two weeks after your dog has been vaccinated before you can book their stay with us.

"How long is day care"?

Up to 9 hours.
