A graduate with BSc Honours degree in Animal Welfare & Behaviour who has a passion to provide a high level of care to your beloved pets. My employment and volunteer roles as well as my studies has provided me so far with 7 years experience.
I now work full time as a Student Veterinary Nurse in Reading, enjoying the variety of pets that come to visit us. I help the vets from routine checks to running laboratory tests, monitoring anaesthetics and maintaining excellent care in a calm environment. Prior to this I was a Cattery Supervisor in a luxury boarding cattery and small animal hotel, providing a high quality service adhering to the welfare needs of all pets from cats to chickens to rabbits, rats and geckos.
I also volunteered at Cats Protection to Trap, Neuter and release feral cats to reduce the number of unwanted cats and the spread of disease.
At the U.K. Wolf Conservation Trust as an assistant wolf handler, I handle wolves to aim to raise awareness of conservation efforts, wolf behaviour and support conservation projects. I also wrote a quarterly article in Wolf Print magazine giving insight to the benefits of varied enrichment techniques and explaining observed behaviours.
My varied experience will provide peace of mind to owners whilst away from home either for business or pleasure.
Rachel looked after our two kittens while we were away for a week. We felt that she was a very safe pair of hands and her communication both in advance of the trip and during was great. We received daily photos which was lovely and updates on what they had been up to (mostly mischief!). One of the boys was a little poorly at the end of the week and Rachel was very reassuring and even made an extra trip in her lunch break to check on him. House was very tidied when we got back which was appreciated. I would highly recommend Rachel!
Rachel consistently delivers an outstanding job, I couldn't be happier!
I have used her services a couple of times now, and have trusted her with my cat for 2 full weeks, and when I returned I could tell how happy he was and how well she took care of him. This is something very important if you want to go away on holiday and have peace of mind.
She is incredibly professional and caring, and I will definitely be using her services again!
