A graduate with BSc Honours degree in Animal Welfare & Behaviour who has a passion to provide a high level of care to your beloved pets. My employment and volunteer roles as well as my studies has provided me so far with 8 years experience.
I now work full time as a Student Veterinary Nurse in Wokingham, enjoying the variety of pets that come to visit us. I help the vets from routine checks to running laboratory tests, monitoring anaesthetics and maintaining excellent care in a calm environment. Prior to this I was a Cattery Supervisor in a luxury boarding cattery and small animal hotel, providing a high quality service adhering to the welfare needs of all pets from cats to chickens to rabbits, rats and geckos.
I also volunteered at Cats Protection to Trap, Neuter and release feral cats to reduce the number of unwanted cats and the spread of disease.
At the U.K. Wolf Conservation Trust as an assistant wolf handler, I handle wolves to aim to raise awareness of conservation efforts, wolf behaviour and support conservation projects. I also wrote a quarterly article in Wolf Print magazine giving insight to the benefits of varied enrichment techniques and explaining observed behaviours.
My varied experience will provide peace of mind to owners whilst away from home either for business or pleasure.
Normally one of the cats avoids contact with strangers, but with Rachel both cats interacted and looked relaxed. I'm especially thankful that she took care of our hanging baskets when it got so windy.
Amazing work, totally recommend.thanks, Rachel
