I am a huge dog lover ready to give your dog the care and attention it deserves when you are at work or on holiday. I retired at the beginning of 2024 and now have plenty of time to provide overnight stays, day care and dog walking. I can be flexible based on your requirements. As I no longer work, I am normally at home all day so your dog will never be left alone for any extended period.
Having previously owned a Labrador cross Saluki for over 15 years and looked after dogs of all sizes, from a miniature Daschund up to an extremely large Great Dane, I have the experience required to look after and care for your dog when you are not around. I am also happy to board puppies if they are crate trained.
I live with my wife, who is also a dog lover, there are no children and currently have no other pets at home. We live in a large detached house with a huge fully enclosed garden where your dog will be free to run and play. I have a large estate car and a Land Rover so transport is never a problem and I can pick up and drop off if required.
Your dog will become part of the family when staying in our house and will have freedom to roam downstairs during the day and can spend the evenings with us in our living room (in front of the log burner in the winter). At night, your dog can sleep either in the large kitchen or the utility room. There are many countryside and forest walks nearby along with a number of parks. I generally walk dogs at least twice a day but will adapt the frequency and length of walks depending on your requirements and your dog's exercise needs.
During your dog's stay with me, I will send regular updates and photos so you will be assured that your dog is happy, content and healthy.
I am fully insured and can share details of the policy if required.
I would be very happy to discuss any specific requirements and would welcome the opportunity to show you my home and garden prior to any overnight stay.

My first sleep over at Rob’s! I packed my bags and traveled light as it was only for one night. I was really keen to visit again as I knew Rob would take great care of me.
I enjoyed the visit to the park to see the local scenery but he didn’t buy me an ice cream.🍦😩 It was a really hot day and when we got back to Rob’s I soon found a really cool place to curl up and snooze at the bottom of the stairs.
In the afternoon I loved exploring Rob’s beautiful garden, sticking my head into bushes in search of pheasants and my pet hate, pigeons, while Rob cut the grass.😎 (I think I had the better deal! 😉)
I slept really well and all too soon it was time to go home. Rob said I had been really good and can go again. My owners have already booked me in for a stay in September. I’d like to go back sooner but I’ll just have to be patient. Thank you Rob for looking after me and for sending the updates and photo’s of me on my “holiday” to my owners.
Rob was wonderful with our fearful whippet, lots of patience and always putting Hugo’s needs first. We received updates throughout the stay, which gave us plenty of reassurance. And oh, the garden… perfect running space for my fast boy! I have no hesitation in recommending Rob, he’s ace!
