I’m an ex-youth worker, university lecturer and author. I’ve always had dogs and cats in my life, and more recently bearded dragons (8 years). I currently have a 3 year-old Standard Poodle. I love having dogs around me and offer your pet(s) lots of play, exercise and cuddles as appropriate!

I took voluntary redundancy a few months ago, so I can be flexible with regards to your needs whilst you are away. I am also happy to look after any small pets/reptiles/fish as well as water plants etc.

I will respect any instructions that you have with regard to looking after your dog(s) in your home. I would not walk your dog(s) off the lead except when they have excellent recall or there is a guaranteed secure field or similar available. For house-sitting I will need to bring my own dog, Phoebe, who is a friendly, playful Standard Poodle, so she will help to provide a distraction if your dog is missing you! As a poodle, she doesn’t shed her fur so she’s a very clean dog to have around! She's also spayed and fully vaccinated and I am happy to share vaccination records if you require.

For local drop-ins, I wouldn’t bring Phoebe with me, but for house-sits she would need to come with me.

I’m happy to do lots of short walks or a couple of long ones in a day, but I’d be guided by your dog’s routine. My car is kitted out for dog use, so I am happy to drive to favourite spots. If there is a secure dog field nearby, then off-lead time would be possible but otherwise I’d keep your pet on a lead, extendable lead or long line. I’d hate to lose your best friend!
