Hello, my name is Joel, I have been working in the animal care sector for around 19 years and have experience with various species but mainly cats.

I have worked for a major animal charity for the rhe majority of that time and have been employed in different roles during the 19 years. I was initially employed as a cattery assistant, cleaning, feeding and socialising with the cats, then on to a centre assistant manager, taking a more managerial role over the day to day running of the largest cattery in europe. More recently I have been in a volunteer management role, managing volunteers who are fostering or doing cat care roles.

I have a good understanding of both the medical and behavioural needs of animals, particuarly cats and the requirements for excellent animal care. 

I understand the importance of day to day observation.

I have worked alongside many vets and have adminstered many medications, including injections. 

The reason I am keen to become a pet sitter is to give me more flexibility with work and use my experience to support pet owners. I believe keeping an animal in their own home while the owner is out or away is much more preferable for their welfare needs.
