I was lucky to grow up with a house full of pets. I went into a teaching profession, and went back to University to do my masters. During my studies friends, family and former employers asked me to house sit and look after their animals whilst they were away. I’ve loved meeting new animals and have a few regulars. I’ve decided to offer my services to others. I have recently looked after cats, dogs, rabbits and chickens. I always like to meet the family first and learn about their pet’s routines and needs. I always provide a daily pet diary and regular communication.
My work is remote and flexible, and I'm available to do early morning walks, lunchtime and evening (as well as being available for the feeding). I live a very active lifestyle and I'm happy to do long walks. I have looked after ill pets and ensured I followed their care routine. For example, one dog in my care had just had surgery, so he could only have light walks on the lead. I have given tablets and medication in food for dogs and cats. I always follow training that they already have at home to ensure the care I provide is consistent with their home routine.
I have stayed up to a month in house sit, and I've ensured the home was clean and kept up with watering the plants.
All the animals in my care warm to me. I believe it’s because I’m calm and softly spoken. Some of my clients have been so surprised by how much quickly their pets have bonded with me. I’ve revisited some of my furry friends, and always treat them as if they were my own.

Lydia was loving, kind and patient with my rwo rescue dogs.
I couldn't ask for a more caring and trustworthy professional to look after our girl out on walking adventures. Our dog is an 11.5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback who loves company. Dogs know a good person when they see one, and ours took to Lydia immediately. It's peace of mind for us as we know Lydia took great care of her, gives lots of hugs and reassurance, and took her out for walks on her own terms, which for our dog's age/breed is a really important aspect of great care.
As for our guinea pigs, Lydia paid great attention to their needs and requirements, keeping them safe, well fed and hugged while we were away.
Thank you so much Lydia!
