I've recently left a finance career in London, where I worked as an actuary, to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. I'm currently a mature student studying full-time at the University of Nottingham.

Growing up in South Africa, animals have always surrounded me. At age six, I received my first dog, Sheena, an English Bull Terrier. Since then, the breed has always held a special place for me. I've been responsible for the welfare of pets (ranging from cats and dogs to chameleons and mongooses) for the last twenty years (whether my own or those of my family and friends).

My primary motivation as a pet sitter is to continue gaining practical experience caring for and handling small animals. And, as I'm not quite able to commit to being a full-time pet parent, to enjoy the companionship of others' precious pets. I will always be sure to treat your pet like a family member.

As I'm studying full-time during the week, I'm available in the mornings before 09:00 and the evenings after 17:00, although I'm usually available on the weekends. My usual home drop-in visits would be at least 30 - 40 minutes long to ensure your pet's needs are adequately attended and they don't feel lonely. I'm very comfortable administering medication, both oral and injectable.  

My dog walking sessions are an hour long, and I would take your pet to the nearest park or open recreational space. I'm also able and insured to take your pet in my car to the ideal walking spot if this is farther out. Highfields Park is the closest dog-friendly park to where I live in Beeston. While pet-sitting in your home, I'll always have one early morning or evening walk. 

I can accommodate extended pet-sitting requests in your home for up to a week or longer. I will always treat you and your pet's home space with respect, and I don't require any special amenities other than a kettle and a quiet space to study in your pet's company :)
