About Alissa
Hello! My name is Alissa, I am a 19-year-old Law student at Royal Holloway. I am also Thai, Belgian and German (a culture cocktail if you will). I am passionate about animal care, well-being and comfort! Animals have made a huge impact on my life for as long as I can remember, ergo, I wanted to devote my free time to making sure your furry best friends are in the right hands.
I've devoted much of my life to gaining experience with animals. I have an advanced scuba license, and I spend a lot of my summer exploring the habitat and life of marine animals. I volunteer at local animal shelters back home, spending time volunteering at adoption days, dog walking, bathing and socialising. I have also travelled to Sri Lanka, working with an NGO and turtle sanctuary, aiding in the rehabilitation and release of sea turtles. Furthermore, I have spent time at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand, feeding and bathing elephants. In Kenya, I aided in the rehabilitation and healthcare of orphaned elephants and fostered one myself named Maktao! This hands-on experience has assisted my ability to care for all types of animals and pets.
I have years of experience volunteering at local animal shelters. My volunteering tasks included; dog walking, bathing, socialising with the animals and feeding. I, myself, have had pet dogs, ranging from a litter of puppies to adults (Thai Ridgebacks), which I loved taking care of. I also have a pet tortoise named Tommy, currently living at home with my parents while I study at university! I have undergone pet-sitting before while taking care of neighbours' dogs, my boyfriend's beautiful dog named Bailey and even their hedgehogs named Pickle and Onion.
