Hi, my name is Kit Lai (nickname: Alley). I’m a caring, honest, and responsible pet sitter based in South Queensferry and originally from Hong Kong, and I also provide pet care services in nearby towns and Edinburgh. I hold a valid DBS check. 

I currently work as a postnatal carer, so my schedule is flexible when I’m not on placement. During these periods, I’m happy to offer reliable and attentive pet sitting, day care, and overnight house sitting services.

I’m a genuine animal lover and feel especially comfortable caring for cats, dogs, and rabbits. I also have experience with small animals. I previously cared for my own rabbit for over 6 years and have owned a hamster as well. Although I haven’t had a dog or cat of my own, I’ve spent a lot of time around them since childhood and have hands-on experience looking after them.

Over the years, I’ve looked after dogs, cats, and rabbits through:

• Cat sitting for friends, including staying overnight in their homes for more than 5 weeks in total
• Dog walking and dog care while travelling and staying with hosts
• Providing regular care and companionship to pets in their own homes

I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, calm, and loved while their owners are away, and I always try to follow their usual routines closely.

For home visits or dog walks, the rate is £13 for 1 pet and +£10 per extra pet. I spend at least 30 minutes interacting with and accompanying your pet. I’m happy to send photo updates, and if you don’t mind, I also enjoy taking nice photos of pets when I capture a lovely moment — you can see some examples in my profile gallery.

💷 Pricing & notes

My standard house sitting rate is £40 per 24 hours, which covers one pet.

Additional pets are charged depending on their needs. If no regular medication is required, it is usually £30 per extra pet per 24 hours.

A travel fee may apply depending on your location.

Please let me know the number of pets and their routines before booking, so I can adjust the price fairly if needed.

I kindly ask you to check my availability with me before making a booking, and I prefer to arrange a meet & greet in advance whenever possible.
