I’m based in Brill but covering most of south Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I have lots of experience with dogs, having done volunteer work for two years, and progressed to starting my own business in early 2018 - I do this full-time and can help with any of your dog care needs. This includes emergency care at any hour, pop-ins, daycare, boarding, sitting, transport to the vet or groomers, or anything else you might need - please just ask, I'm happy to help! I am also trained in canine first aid, so you can be sure that your dogs are in safe hands.
Having always loved dogs of all shapes and sizes, in 2016 I finally had the opportunity to bring Bailey into my family. He’s a lovely little whippet who loves playing chase with new friends. Bailey is super friendly and gets along with most other dogs, but can be very noisy upon first meeting a new dog. Please note that Bailey is not neutered, so any unspayed females must not be in heat when boarding in my home.
Brill is a lovely little village near to Thame, and we are within 15 minutes' driving distance of two fantastic local vets, both of which I have used for my own boy so can ensure great quality of care in an emergency. These are based in Thame and Bicester. Brill has many countryside walks within walking distance, so no need for long car journeys, though there are even more walks a short drive away. We are also lucky enough to have a playing field just across the road from our home for a quick run around!
I have a bit of experience with horses, having previously worked on a livery and training yard and enjoying riding every so often, so I can also carry out basic care for your larger four-legged friends if necessary (including medications, supplements, wrapping legs, grooming) - this will need to be discussed separately.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me about any services you might need - I’m more than happy to help out in any way, whether it’s just a pop-in or help with special circumstances. For more pictures, info, and reviews from other owners, please just ask!
Gilbert is an adult rescue cat and a very sensitive soul. I moved back to the UK in June and had only been able to find cat-feeders not cat-sitters which clearly he wasn't coping with. He had started hissing again and pulling out his fur. This was the point at which I discovered pawshake and booked Christie to come stay keep Gilbert company.
Christie was amazing - she stayed in my house and was patient and kind to my very stressed kitty. It is a credit to her gentleness that he was sleeping on her bed by the end of the stay. She also took care of his complicated food and pill regime and sent me lots of photos and asked about anything where she was unsure. It is the first time I've been away since moving back to the UK where I have managed to fully relax knowing Gilbert was happy and in good hands.
Christi is an excellent pet and house sitter. Our menagerie includes a dog who is not very sociable so he has to stay at home and wears a muzzle on walks. Christi came and stayed in our house, looked after all of our pets and followed our instructions but also went above and beyond by sourcing and purchasing a new muzzle for our dog to make him more comfortable on his walks. We were very impressed by her professionalism and felt completely relaxed on our holiday in the knowledge that all our pets were in safe hands. We would highly recommend Christi for pet and house sitting no matter how many animals you have or specific requirements. She's great!
