My name is Lauren Sweeney & I am currently a student at the University of Bristol studying Bioveterinary Science & Veterinary Nursing.
Through training as a Veterinary nurse I have learnt the best ways to care for our beloved animals, aiming to build trust with the animal and minimise fear and anxiety. This is something I take very strongly as it can be stressful for a pet to be left by themself, and as your pet sitter I will do my best to keep your animal as comfortable and happy as possible.
In my opinion, one of the best ways to keep your pets happy when you are away is to mimic the routine you follow at home with them. To get a better understanding of your pets day to day life, I offer a free meet up with you before the stay/visits, so that you can inform me of all relevant information and I can tailor my visits to suit your pets needs. As I am currently working full time in a Veterinary Hospital, I would only be avaliable to visit your pets early in the morning & then again throughout the evening during the week. However, I am flexible over the weekend to visit your pets as you desire.
I feel comfortable caring for many types of pets, including but not restricted to: cats, dogs, small furries and many exotics. I have also had two of my own rabbits as pets so I am aware of the different type of husbandry required for small exotics.
As a student Veterinary nurse, I would also be able to administer any medications your pet requires, follow a diet plan if your pet is on one, perform CPR & administer insulin for your diabetic pets. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pets in the care of another individual, so hopefully I can put your mind at ease due to my current training.
I can be flexible where possible & will always try to accomodate special requests where possible.
Please don't hesistate to message me if you have any questions :)
We were leaving our little cats for the first holiday. Lauren was brilliant, both our cats took to her straight away and were happy catters when we got home. I would highly recommend, we have booked again already and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.
This was our first time of using a pet sitter and I could not have been more reassured leaving my cat in Laurens care. I met with Lauren some time ago for the initial meet and greet. Lauren took notes which showed she was conscientious. Our cat needed meds administering which Lauren was more than happy to do. Upon arrival to look after our cat Lauren sent a message to advise she had got in ok and our cat was all fine. Lauren stayed the night and you wouldn't have even known she had been there (apart from a clean litter tray ;-). It was clear our cat was well looked after and Lauren had even groomed her (a privilege our cat normally saves for my husband). We got a second message the following day to let us know our cat was fine and asleep when Lauren left. Our cat didn't even care we had been away which I think is an amazing sign. Thanks Lauren.
