My name is Emma and I love pets! I have always had dogs from a very young age and in the last six years, I have also had several cats. I’ve lived both in Abu Dhabi and in the Netherlands so I’m very aware of heat, cold and general temperatures and how they may affect dogs. Living in Abu Dhabi my mother was a volunteer for an organisation that rescued street cats and street dogs, fostering them and eventually rehoming them. This meant that we took care of a wide variety of dogs- some who suffered trauma and needed very delicate and attentive care, some dogs had very specific dietary needs and others who were simply lovely and liked plenty of walks.

My parents live in Holland and they live very close to the beach and the forest; this means that I am used to long walks, especially in beautiful locations, and I’m happy to run and play with the dogs while on the walk. Depending on the dog, I can be quite strict when meeting other dogs - especially if necessary. For example, my old dog, who sadly recently passed away, was mostly deaf and blind, meaning she was easily scared of other dogs and sometimes had a bad habit of snapping at pets. I had to hold her close, for both her's and the other dog's safety, and hunch down to take care of her. My parents have also since recently adopted a much younger and more excitable dog who is both immensely shy and curious at the same time, and she too has warmed to me very quickly. I have experience with both older and younger dogs.

I live on Danes Road, near Bury Meadow Park, and a long green path alongside Taddiforde Brooke, roughly from Bury Meadow Park to the University of Exeter. My walks last anywhere between 15-45 minutes, depending on route, frequency of the walks and individual dog needs. For example, for an older dog, I would walk shorter routes but perhaps more frequently. I do not have to cross any dangerous/busy roads to get to this walking route or the park. I offer dog walks, home visits, and cat care as part of my service, and am also flexible regarding the hours of home visits and other potential pet services required. Would also be available for house sittings depending on individual pet needs.
