Kia ora! I've just moved from NZ to the UK and had to leave our little ex rescue cat behind, so looking to fill the furry void and help out at the same time. I'm a University trained animal behaviourist, and have about 10 years experience housesitting, pet sitting, and dog walking (on an NZ Pawshake account). I also volunteered at a dog pound training the puppies to make them more adoptable (as well as bits of other training I've done with my cats in the past), and have experience with observational studies of captive animals while volunteering at a zoo in NZ. I'm happy to offer some of these training services, which will involve "shaping " and clicker training basic commands (if possible).
Ive also volunteered at the SPCA socialising feral and stray cats. I've grown up animals my whole life, especially with big dogs (my parents love rotties!), cats, and even ducklings - so am pretty comfortable around a range of animals, and definitely prefer them being around over not!
I'm currently working as a project manager and principal environmental planner at LUC, but am able to work from home often, so can spend plenty of time with your fur babes (please let me know in your message what you need and I can try and be as flexible as possible!). I'm happy to administer oral medications, and be trained (by you) to administer injections if required. I will look after a max of 2 dogs at a time, but will be flexible of number of additional and max cats (although also feel free to reach out about other circumstances and I may be able to make it work). At the moment if I am house sitting I can offer 2 big dog walks as well per day as well as others for toilet breaks, otherwise limited to 1 walk per day if it requires travel. Feel free to reach out if there's any other queries, I'm happy to be adaptable and flexible where I can

Daniela looked after Coco, our anxious and temperamental cat, over New Years and we couldn’t have picked a better sitter. Usually we leave Coco with family or friends and this was the first time we booked a sitter for overnight stays. We were both apprehensive of how Coco would be with someone she didn’t know in the house, however we need not have worried as Daniela was fantastic. She sent us pictures and updates and even managed to get a cuddle or two from Coco. She was also kind enough to meet with us and Coco first to get an idea of Coco’s needs which we really appreciated and it put our minds at ease. We would highly recommend Daniela and it was great to have a trip knowing Coco was in safe hands. Thank you!
We were lucky enough to have Daniela and her partner Campbell look after our lively one year old rescue pup Wolfie in our home for 10 days while we were on holiday. We cannot recommend both of them highly enough. They are friendly, helpful, conscientious, incredibly calm and great communicators, sending us regular updates and providing a really helpful and thorough debrief when we got home. Most importantly, they are wonderful and patient with dogs and clearly love them. Wolfie was so well looked after - Daniela even made him a doggy birthday cake for his first birthday! We were 100% confident at all times that our home and Wolfie were in safe and highly capable hands. Thank you Daniela and Campbell for everything - you allowed us to really switch off on holiday.
