My connection with animals is something that goes back so long that I cannot remember when it started. In fact, I am fairly sure I was born with it. I am that woman who smiles and makes faces at furbabies on tube trains and streets.

I have brought stray kittens home from the time I was a child. I adopted my first kitten soon after my wedding since it felt like an essential part of 'starting a family'. I now have two feline children: Pow Prabha is ten years old and Maahi Mani will be six years, soon. They are being taken care of by their grandparents this year while I pursue my MSc at LSE.

But it's not just cats that I am fond of. I am the favourite aunt of Dash, Bolt, Sox and Surumi - the four dog-babies of my best friend. When my friend and her husband travelled, it was always me on babysitting duty. I have spent as long as a month taking care of them and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. 

I miss my babies so much and I think this opportunity with Pawshake will give me an outlet for all the maternal love I am holding within me.
