I'm an animal-loving American-born yoga instructor

who has lived abroad for the last 5+ years. Moving away from friends and family I've had to endure the stressful search of finding a reliable petsitter to take care of my 2 cats when my husband and I would go on holiday. Then I would still worry, at least for the first couple of visits, if they were actually being looked after and looked after well - not unlike you, I'm sure. So I know how it feels and totally understand your concern leaving your furry babies with a total stranger.

Rest assured; I have plenty of experience caring for animals. Besides growing up in a pet-loving household with 2 dogs, 4 cats and 1 lizard for most of my childhood, I've been petsitting since I was a kid. For the last 3 years, I've been actively fostering both dogs and cats on behalf of animal rescue groups, as well as for friends simply going away on holiday. I love furry snuggles so much I've been known to travel 1.5 hours one-way just to volunteer at a cat shelter. In the past, I even fostered a cat suffering from paralysis in her hind legs (a "handicat", I called her), which involved providing her with daily physical therapy. I've fundraised for animal welfare groups, too. Simply put, I just love the little (and-not-so-little) critters.

For those dog owners out there, I am active, enjoy being outside and would love the extra excuse to visit the park with a pooch in tow. If you are wondering, I don't have a dog of my own (yet!) because my husband and I aren't quite ready for the full commitment. Someday though. Until then, I have plenty of love, snuggles, scratches and walks (& occasional jogs) in me to share.

I currently belong to 2 young cats, her Majesty JingJing and mischievous Mr. Tomas. [There would be more but I put the cap at 2 cats for fear of the unfortunate 'cat lady' branding.]

Both cats like their names to be sung when I call them (so I've been told). A preliminary home visit with your dog is recommended to make sure it's a good fit for both your dog and my kitties.
