Hi i am Mina and I love doggies is all I can say! I have had dogs all my life. My little dog Stan is really open to other dogs and loves meeting new human and animal friends. I used to volunteer at a rescue centre so I am confident in animal care. I have also volunteered for Refuge for Pets so have a lot of experience with bigger and more challenging types.

I work as a part time teacher in Portsmouth and my partner James works from home so your pet will always be with company. I am close to a local city park and have a car and a van so can go further afield for longer walks, to the new forest and to the beach. Your pet will have its own sleeping area and be able to sleep on the sofa/in bedroom if needed, I am not fussy as Stanley likes to sleep in our bedroom. Your dog can sleep in our bedroom if that's what they are used to. From experience a dog will settle quicker if they have everything they are used to from home like sleeping in the same room in their own bed with their favourite toy. Your pet will get our undivided attention, I know from experience it is hard to leave a cherished pet with someone you don't know really well. But rest assured he or she will be in safe hands throughout. We send constant pup updates pics and can do video calls if needed, whatever you need to feel assured and happy your dog is fine with us.

A typical evening stay would involve an evening walk, including fetch or whichever game your pooch prefers, then home to chill before bedtime. During the day we'd have two walkies a day, treats and then chilling at home. If your dog has a certain preferred routine then please do message to let us know! We are able to take them out for short toilet trips to the park at the end of the road.

In mid July 2024 we are moving to a bigger apartment with a garden in Bitterne Manor. So will have a lovely garden overlooking the river.

Services

We offer two walks a day when day boarding, one morning and one evening, if night boarding, one morning and one evening, alongside the general walks on weekends eg. sat and sun longer walks. We always do a toilet trip just before bed as well.

We can board up to 2 dogs at one time, plus our dog Stanley.

We live in a two bed apartment with the park just down the road. It's me and James my partner who also helps out with dog sitting and walking, and of course Stanley who is a Pekingese cross 11.5 years old. We also have our son Theo who is nearly 2. That means any guests will have to be ok with an active toddler, Theo has the experience of a lot of dogs during his life due to the amount of Pawshake's we have taken on, however we never leave dogs and him unattended.

Sorry we cannot take puppies under 1 year or un neutered / spade dogs. From experience it doesn't work with Stan. That said older unneturered dogs seem to be fine, so long as they are used to being left with other people. So we'd happily take your pooch if we think it'll work after a meet/greet.
