Hey I'm Ashley! I'm a massive animal lover who has experience caring for cats, dogs, rabbits and rats. There really isn't any animal I wouldn't love to meet, and I take care of them as I would want anyone to do for my cat Misty, who means the world to me.

I'm currently studying a Level 2 in Animal Care at City of Bristol College, which is teaching me more about health checks, behaviour and general good care for pets.

I have a wide range of experience: I grew up in a village in Spain that had virtually no animal rights, so my family rescued several dogs and cats that had emotional and physical issues. It was incredible for me to see how with enough love and patience, they all had the potential to be happy and flourish. My love for animals began there as I was a solitary kid as an only child that was homeschooled. The dogs and cats we had were my family.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned it's this: every single pet is different, and they have their own unique personalities. Some cats are very energetic and need to play like a typical dog, and some dogs just want to curl up on your lap and you half expect them to start purring. There’s no one-size-fits-all, and while there is plenty of general knowledge about cats and dog breed behaviors, it's important to be adaptable to that particular animal’s needs.

I’m a very responsible person who takes things like safety and security seriously, and its important to me to be in the present and engaging with an animal. You won’t find me scrolling through Facebook on a dog-walk because I want to be there for that dog and give them the attention they deserve.
