Dogs have always been attracted to me and I to them, ever since I was a youngster dogs seem to like being around me. I come from a long line of dog lovers, my parents had boxers when I was very little living in Cardiff, and I remember my Nans brown and white spaniel, Rusty that we used to play with whenever we visited. Later when a teenager the family had an Irish Wolfhound labrador mix, Emma, who you would imagine would be enormous, but she was relatively small.
I lived in America for quite a few years and owned three Pitbulls, who contrary to what some say, are wonderful dogs. So I am used to handling big, strong dogs with big personalities. One of our dogs suffered with many ailments for most of her life, from hip displacia, thyroids, allergies to fear of everything from fireworks and thunder to any loud noise, she was on a lot of medication, so I am used to administering medication and caring for dogs that have special needs.
