Sometimes life can get really busy and you might find yourself a little short on time to walk your dog. Luckily with Pawshake, it is really easy to connect with thousands of pet lovers and find a walker in Reading who is available and waiting to help you out.

All of our walkers are vetted individually and every dog walker booking is covered by The Pawshake Guarantee so you can rest easy while they spend time with your dog. Additionally, your Pawshake walker will be from your local Reading neighbourhood and their profile also includes reviews from other pet parents.

Having a dog walker visit during the day is an affordable and great way to break up the day and make your dog’s day more interesting. Some of our walkers walk multiple dogs at once so this service is a great way for your dog to socialise and meet other similar dogs. However, if your dog prefers to be walked alone, you can also find Reading dog walkers who only walk one dog at a time. That way, the walks can be completely dedicated to what your dogs want – whether is a slow walk-and-sniff or a faster paced brisk walk around the block, our Pawshake dog walkers will be happy to oblige.

Hi, I’m Michelle! I’m a calm, caring and reliable pet sitter who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals. I specialise in dog walking and home visits, and I always make sure pets feel safe, understood and supported while their owners are away.

I have experience with a range of pet personalities — from playful and energetic dogs to shy, anxious, or rescue pets who need a gentler approach. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, body language and comfort level so I can adjust my pace, tone, and handling style to their needs.

During home visits, I can help with feeding, fresh water, medication (oral), brushing, playtime and lots of reassurance. I’m confident handling mild behavioural quirks like pulling, nervousness, or excitement, and I always follow your instructions exactly.

Safety is my priority, and I provide constant supervision during walks or visits. I also offer regular photo updates and messages so you always know how your pet is doing.

I’m excited to meet you and give your pet plenty of care, attention and affection!

Lifetime of taking care of dogs, cats, fish, horses and more!

I often petsit my friends' and family pets and joined this website to do it more often.

* I had both cats and dogs in my childhood, so I am quite experienced at looking after both. We also had fish, and I used to horse ride very often. My family has both cats and dogs I now sometimes petsit too in France or UK.

* I have now completed FIVE sittings (both dogs and cats) via this website, and more via some other sources + I often cat or dog sit for friends and family, for example:

1. I took care of my sister's two cats in France several times, and as the word spread, her neighbours asked me to do the same for their cats. I still do it sometimes.

2. I helped my landlady take care of a feral cat that frequents her garden and then took care of him and fed him when she went on holiday a few times in 2022/2023.

3. I was asked to petsit my neighbour's cat via a local UK petsitting website (see review about Binx, a lovely 18 year old cat).

* we had a few family dogs when I was a child, so I know how to take care of dogs too and often walk my friends' dogs / also see my TH reviews.

* I also sometimes pet sit other creatures :)

ABOUT MEI have always been a huge dog lover, ever since I was young I begged my mum to let me have a dog. However, she was too worried about it being with us in a small flat, but that didn't stop me. I made friends with a local older lady and offered to walk and train her 1 year old dog, Bert. At first, he was a very scared and an anti-social pup, however through consistent training, walking and lots of cuddles he came into his own and was my best friend for many years. We attended numerous dog competitions and even managed to win a few!I am now 33 years old, have a full time job in Finance and I've lived in Reading for 6 years now. I would love to get a dog of my own, however I'm not currently allowed one in the flat I live in, so I'd like to offer my services for dog walking or dog sitting to scratch that itch and hopefully help you out so you don't have to worry about your furry family member being left alone at home for longer periods of time. I'm very used to dogs and love taking them out for long walks and playing games.I am also very comfortable around cats as I have lived with 6 cats for 8 looong years :) so happy to give your cat cuddles, if she/ he lets me that is :-)LOGISTICS & SERVICESTransport -I have a car, so I can easily get to you - I'm happy to take your dog on walks in your local area, to help him / her stretch their legs. For homes 4 miles outside of center Reading I will ask for fuel compensation of £5 per trip so please bear that in mind.Availability -I work Monday to Friday 9 til 5, but am available for walk after work (between 5.30pm and 8pm) or anytime during the weekends. Just give me a shout and we can agree on some timings and days.PetsI have experience with - dogs / cats / I also had 3 hamsters when I was younger - I don't discriminate against the little guys :-)Length of walks - I offer walks for 30 min at £14, but if you'd like your pet to get an hour long walk, the rate is £20. I can take them to run around in a field, walk along the river, play fetch in the park or anything else you might have an idea of us doing.Home visits - I can also check up on your pet once or twice a day, give them food, change water, play with them on each visit / let them out into the garden to get some fresh air. I can also do more than 2 visits in a day (weekends) if your pet needs more attention. Home visits tend to be between 15 to 30 minutes depending on whether you have a cat or a dog (as cats don't usually need walking :-))

I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. Becoming a dog walker lets me combine my love for animals with staying active and spending time outdoors, something I genuinely enjoy every day.

During walks, I always follow a calm, structured routine. I start by giving each dog time to get comfortable with me, then tailor the walk to their needs. energetic dogs get longer, more stimulating routes, while older or more nervous dogs get gentle, steady walks with plenty of reassurance. I’ve handled a wide range of breeds, from small breeds like Chihuahuas and Pomeranians to medium and large breeds like Labradors, Huskies, and German Shepherds. I’m used to reactive dogs that need extra space, strong pullers who require steady guidance, and shy pups who simply need patience and a calm presence.

Safety is my top priority. I always double-check harnesses, avoid risky areas, stay alert around other dogs.

I’m always learning and improving, I’m currently working on developing stronger leash-handling skills and understanding dog body language even better, so I can respond quickly and calmly in any situation.

Your pets deserve the same love, safety, and attention they get at home, and that’s exactly what I’ll give them. ️
