If I could give 10 stars in every category I would. You're probably looking at Karen's profile and only seeing at the time of writing this at least, maybe two reviews and anxious (like we were) as to whether or not to hire Karen. So with that in mind, I'm intentionally making this review the longest I have ever written for a pawshake petsitter, because I believe that Karen deserves the same level of care and respect as she gave to our most precious family members, Teddy and Tilly, and you the pet owner need DETAIL! Your pets could not be in better hands and you will be able to go on holiday with zero worry. Karen is utterly amazing, and I'm telling you this as someone who has been using pawshake for probably 10 years, and have had many sitters. They are NOT all the same. It matters who you choose. We have had sitters who we could tell did the absolute bare minimum, for instance not changing water every day or visiting at really irregular times. NOT SO with Karen! We hired Karen to visit our kitties twice a day. Karen respected the time slots, always arriving within 30 mins of the usual designated time. This is extremely important for cats. We previously had a cat sitter who skipped a visit one day because she had to go to a party, and had made no provision for leaving extra water or food telling us "ah, I'll just go twice tomorrow instead". Can you imagine leaving your children without water or food for 24 hours? Unlike Karen, who was meticulous in her care. She ALWAYS stayed longer than expected. And every single minute Karen was in our apartment she was WORKING (for the kitties). For up to an hour each time Karen would be constantly: * Playing with them * Brushing them (they are very furry siberians and brushed them every single day) * Taking huge interest in their habits and behaviour to understand them * Changed their bowls every single day * taking COPIOUS photos and videos sending them to us on whatsapp even though we had 4 indoor ring cameras. * Not just taking care of their litter but proactively sweeping the floor (we came back to a completely clean flat - which is NOT normally the case. The usually only ever empty the litter, and just let any litter on the floor just stay their and throughout the apartment. * communicating with us on their wellbeing, quirks she noticed, giving us suggestions and always included a full end-of-visit "checklist" oh, and she took care of our deliveries too! I really wish I could attach screenshots of the types of messages Karen would send, so I'll paste a couple of examples here to give you an idea of what you can expect: "5 July 11:21-12:01 ✅dry food: still have half scoop each left. topped up one scoop for each bowl ✅wet food: added 3 tps water and the cats didnt reject😆 ✅water refilled and i saw Tilly went for it after, seems like they like fresh water too. ✅scoop x2 and cleaned the mess in the g/f toilet - the sand falls out everyday maybe a deeper litter box would work better ✅plant water ✅playing and brushing other: ✅I collected a big box of tissue paper from outside, it's next to the stairs now" "6 July 11:14-11:58 ✅ dry food - have half scoop left, top up one scoop ✅ wet food ✅ plants ✅ litter ✅ water machine clean and refilled ✅ play with string and brush Temperature: outside is hot and shiny, the flat is cooler than outside. shutter is closed, window is closed two fans working" But in-between these checklists Karen would provide super detailed messages about exactly how the cats have been reacting to her, to feeding, their litter status. Karen clearly took her job ultra seriously and I'm not sure we could have been kept better informed or more reassured that Teddy and Tilly were in superb hands. It's usually the parents who actually need more care and attention than the pets. We're the ones panicking and worrying wondering if we should maybe get an earlier flight home. Karen made absolutely sure that WE were looked after too! Happy kitties and happy humans all around. I could write more. But if you've read this far, you must surely have gotten enough insight from me to know that you are kids are totally safe with Karen. Finally, the real litmus test of whether you truly like a catsitter, is whether you would re-book them. Well clearly we would, without hesitation. Our biggest worry would be if Karen isn't available - that would be a disaster. Massive shoutout and huge thanks to Karen for being so incredible.

First time needing a pet sitter for my cat and Sam was amazing. Respectful, clear and prompt communication. The whole process was easy. My cat was in really good hands and got some really good pictures too :) Would definitely book again when need and highly recommend to anyone else too! Before visit: During meet and greet, Sam was really respectful. It was clear that Sam took time to read my cat’s profile beforehand and was comfortable around her. Took notes of instructions and asked relevant important questions. His experience in petsitting showed and made me felt reassured. During visits: I received a decent report and plenty of good photos each visit on how my cat was doing. It was clear from the report, photos and petcam that my cat enjoyed his company very much. Sam took great care of my cat and made sure to engage/play with my cat as well as doing a superb job in all the essential bits (food, groom, litter). I returned to a tidy house and a very well looked after & happy cat. Mega bonus points for no matts in my long hair maine coon. Thank you so much again :)
