Sometimes life can get really busy and you might find yourself a little short on time to walk your dog. Luckily with Pawshake, it is really easy to connect with thousands of pet lovers and find a walker in Romford who is available and waiting to help you out.

All of our walkers are vetted individually and every dog walker booking is covered by The Pawshake Guarantee so you can rest easy while they spend time with your dog. Additionally, your Pawshake walker will be from your local Romford neighbourhood and their profile also includes reviews from other pet parents.

Having a dog walker visit during the day is an affordable and great way to break up the day and make your dog’s day more interesting. Some of our walkers walk multiple dogs at once so this service is a great way for your dog to socialise and meet other similar dogs. However, if your dog prefers to be walked alone, you can also find Romford dog walkers who only walk one dog at a time. That way, the walks can be completely dedicated to what your dogs want – whether is a slow walk-and-sniff or a faster paced brisk walk around the block, our Pawshake dog walkers will be happy to oblige.

Loving, Reliable & Responsible Pet Care

When you leave your pet with me, you can expect them to receive more than basic care — I will treat them with the same patience, love, and attention I give to my own dog.

I have experience caring for my 14-year-old dog, which has taught me how important routine, patience, responsibility, and close attention to an animal’s wellbeing really are. I understand that every pet is different, so I always take the time to learn their personality, habits, routine, and individual needs.

️ What I Provide

• Dog walking & exercise — Safe, enjoyable walks adapted to your pet’s age, energy level, and routine.
• ️ Feeding & fresh water — Meals given according to your instructions and schedule.
• Home visits & companionship — Making sure your pet isn’t left feeling lonely while you’re away.
• Playtime & affection — Plenty of attention, stimulation, cuddles, and positive interaction.
• Routine care — Following your instructions carefully for any agreed daily care needs.
• Basic pet-area care — Keeping feeding and pet areas clean and comfortable.
• Regular updates — I can keep you reassured with messages, photos, and updates about how your pet is doing.

️ Your Pet’s Safety Comes First

I take safety extremely seriously. I will follow your instructions carefully, keep doors and gates securely closed, use appropriate precautions during walks, and never knowingly put your pet in an unsafe situation.

Before caring for your pet, I would want to know about their routine, temperament, feeding schedule, walking habits, allergies, fears, and anything else important to their wellbeing. This helps me provide care that is comfortable and familiar for them.

I also understand that some pets can become anxious when their owners are away. I will give them patience, reassurance, companionship, and time to feel comfortable with me rather than forcing interaction.

What You Can Expect From Me

My goal is to give you complete peace of mind while you’re away. I will communicate clearly, respect your home and your instructions, and treat your pet with genuine kindness and care.

You can expect a pet sitter who is responsible, attentive, caring, reliable, and genuinely loves animals.

Your pet isn’t just another booking to me. They are someone you trust me with — and I will treat them that way. ️

We only have one pet at a time, but will consider two pets from the same owner. We do not have any pets of our own. Your pet(s) will be our priority during their stay with us.
"Our pack" consists of me, my husband, and our daughter who is at university. We are all animal lovers, last year fostering a mother cat and three kittens for a local charity. We had them from when the kittens were only 7 weeks old until they were adopted after 6 months.
Before that we had been doggy owners, losing our cherished chihuahua to a congenital heart condition a year ago. We understand how a fur baby becomes a part of the family and how tough it can be to leave them in someone else's care.
I grew up with cats, rabbits and a Guinea pig, and spending time with my grandparents' doggy. As an adult, I was a dog owner for ten years.
I adore animals, and love caring for them.
It's important that when you choose us to care for your pet, you can trust that they will be our priority for the full duration their stay, be it for just a few hours or a fortnight stay. We therefore only have one booking at a time. However we would consider two pets from the same owner. We schedule our bookings so that pets arriving and pets leaving do not overlap, as this can be unsettling for your pet to experience, especially for more anxious doggies or kitties.
I am home full time and will spend lots of time with your fur baby, playing, taking them for walkies and giving them care and attention.
We live close to the park for nice walkies and also have a small, fenced-in garden. There are some photos of our home and garden in the gallery. We are very safety minded and have cable protectors and plug socket covers. I am calm and patient (from years as a teacher) and have an enhanced DBS. We have pet daycare and boarding insurance in place.
All pets we care for, day-care or overnight stays, must be up to date with flea and worming treatments, and vaccinations.
We offer Free meet and greets. It's important for us to get to know your little one before they come for their stay. During our meet and greet, you and your fur baby can meet me and see our home and garden. It will be an opportunity for me to meet your fur baby and make sure we can offer the right environment for them during their stay. I will want to know all about them, and you will be able to ask all the questions you have about your pet staying with us. Please also let me know anything in particular you would like for your pet during their stay. I’ll do my best to help.
When your booking is confirmed, I will send over a short online form for you to give me all of the information I will need to make your pet feel happy and at home throughout their stay. All information you have about your pet is as important to us as it is to you, so please tell us everything that will help us to give your pet the same care that you give to them when they're at home.
For that home from home experience, I will adjust my day as much as possible to suit your pet’s usual routine. This is easy to do as I’m at home throughout the week and we only care for one pet at a time.
Therefore the day will all depend on your fur baby’s usual routine. We can have lots of fun playing with your pet’s favourite toys or their favourite games. We can go for walkies, once, twice a day or three times a day, and we can have snuggles on the sofa. They will eat at their usual times and if they have a bedtime routine, we can keep to that too. Let me know what will work best to help your pet settle in and feel at home, and we’ll do the rest!
Having had our own fur baby, we know how important it is that you feel assured your pet is in safe hands while you're away. I will send you regular updates and pics throughout your little one's stay, and you're welcome to message me and check in on your little one whenever you like.
If you are a loving pet owner looking for a kind, gentle and responsible animal carer to look after your fur baby.. then look no further.

I’ve always loved being around animals, they bring such wonderful energy into life! Back home in France, I grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits, and even horses, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me.Since moving to London, my home isn’t quite big enough for a pet of my own, and I truly miss that daily companionship. That’s why I love helping friends by looking after their dogs and cats when they’re away, they know they can count on me to give their pups the same love and care they would.I would be delighted to do the same for you and your furry friend! I’m patient, responsible, and genuinely passionate about giving every pet the attention they deserve. I also closely monitor pets and can quickly recognise and anticipate any unusual behaviour, and ensure I take the appropriate action when needed. Your pet’s safety is my top priority.
I’m currently fully flexible any day of the week, at any time, to walk your dog or provide daytime visits to your dog or cat, in Hornchurch. I’m happy to offer 30-minute to one-hour walks, multiple times a day if needed, and can do the same for home visits. I live near Hornchurch Country Park, which will be the main place for your pet to play and enjoy their walks.
If you’d like to know more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’d love to meet you and your four-legged buddy soon!

Hi, my name’s Charlie, and I’m a dedicated dog sitter who loves caring for dogs of all breeds and personalities. I’ve spent the past 12 years raising and caring for my two dogs (Poppy and Pippha, both Shih Tzus), so I have hands-on experience managing daily routines, providing exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention, while making sure they feel safe and comfortable.
I approach pet care with consistency and patience. Each walk or visit typically includes exercise, potty breaks, play, and quiet time if needed, following the dog’s usual routine to keep them happy and relaxed. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality—whether they’re energetic and playful or calm and cautious—and I adjust my approach to suit their needs.
Safety and supervision are a priority. I make sure dogs are securely leashed or in safe areas during walks, monitor interactions with other pets or people, and provide close attention to prevent accidents. For dogs with special needs or specific instructions, I follow guidance carefully and adapt my care to ensure they’re comfortable, happy, and safe.
I’m committed to offering dependable and compassionate care that owners can trust, helping dogs feel at ease while they’re away from home.

Hello, my name is Leo, and I would love it if you would pick me as your pet sitter. I'm currently a university student on my break and ever since I have come back I've realised how much I want to look after some pets in my spare time.
Ever since I was a kid, I've absolutely loved cats and dogs, and I have had both for about 15 years now. I walk my dog nearly every day, and I could give you stories on all the scars I get when I play with my cat, so although I have no official experience, I've looked after pets basically my whole life. I'm not fussy about the pet at all, I'll take care of it whether it be a snake or a rat, just aslong as it's not at the same time.
I take health very seriously when it comes to pets, as if they have something that can be spread onto other animals, I don't want to spread it to other pets as well. When it comes to walk times I usually walk a dog for about 30 minutes depending on the dog, and when it comes to behaviour problems aswell all ill do is tell it off and let it know whatever it's doing is bad.
If I am to walk your dog, I would take regular breaks to both play and water him to make sure he is healthy throughout the whole session, and this also applies if I'm looking after your pet at your house as well. When it comes to me your pet will rarely ever be left without attention and will constantly have fun and will feel relaxed with me around. And if behavioural issues arise, I will calm the situation down by desculating and making sure everything in the room is calm and happy.
When it comes to feeding routines I will make sure to feed them exactly on time every time and will make sure to do it in both a clean and healthy environment with the exact measurements of food as well. Also, in case of emergency, I would both contact you and an emergency vet to make sure it has the proper care it needs while also being right there by its side and doing whatever I can to help it out.
But other than that I have nothing left to say apart from thank you for picking me as your pet sitter!

Hi! I’m Halle, an animal lover with a lifelong passion caring for pets.
I love giving animals cuddles and attention, but I’m just as happy keeping them company while they relax. I have hands-on experience such as currently working in a kennel and cattery, where I care for cats and dogs through walking, feeding, administering medication, cleaning, and ensuring their health and safety. I’ve also completed courses in animal behaviour and hold a Pet Psychology Diploma.

Growing up, my home was always full of animals, and I’ve rescued several along the way. My most recent, Marshmallow, a sweet cat with medical issues and an unfortunate feral background. He taught me the importance of patience and gentle care. I am very comfortable working with anxious or nervous animals, always focusing on helping them feel secure and minimising stress.

I know how hard it is to leave your pets, so I treat every animal as if they were my own by offering love, attention, and consistent care. I’m also happy to keep you updated for extra peace of mind. Nothing makes me happier than helping animals feel safe, comfortable, and loved, whether through cuddles, companionship, or attentive care tailored to their needs🤍

PLEASE READ:

Same Household Rule: For walks, I only take pets from the same household at one time for safety and comfort.

Behavioural Information: Please let me know in advance if your pet has any behaviours I should be aware of, such as guarding, biting, anxiety, nervousness, or leash reactivity.

Health & Safety: Pets should be in good health for walks. Please make me aware if your pet needs limited exercise, gentle play only, or no play at all so I can tailor care to their needs.

Emergency Contact: If you will not have quick access to your phone, please provide me with an alternative emergency contact.

Walking Gear: Dogs should have a secure, well-fitted harness or collar and lead provided by the owner.

Feeding & Medication: If your pet requires food or medication, clear instructions must be given in writing or by text message, clearly.

House Access: Please ensure I can safely and securely access your home for visits/walks.

Weather Conditions: Walks may be shortened or adjusted in extreme weather (very hot, icy, or stormy conditions) to ensure your pet’s safety.

Extra Information: Some details may not seem necessary, but any information you can provide me about your pet is always helpful in making sure they’re cared for in the best way possible.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me as I'd be happy to answer. My main concern is the safety and happiness of your pet but also your reassurance of my care️
