For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Canvey Island for a home day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Canvey Island Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer home day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Canvey Island sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

Hi, I'm Ross, the owner of Medway Tails — a professional dog care service based in the Medway towns. I set up Medway Tails because I believe every dog deserves care that goes beyond the basics: consistent routines, genuine attention, and someone who treats them like part of the family, not just another booking.
Every dog I look after gets an individual care plan covering their routine, favourite toys, feeding habits and any medical needs, so nothing is left to guesswork. I keep owners updated with notes (and photos where possible) after every walk or visit, so you always know how your dog's day has gone.
Services I offer:

Dog walking — 30 or 60-minute walks, solo or in small, carefully matched groups, tailored to your dog's energy level and sociability.
Drop-in visits — 15 or 30-minute check-ins for toileting, feeding, medication or simply company during the day.
Day care — full or half-day supervised care with rest, exercise and enrichment built in.
Home boarding — overnight stays in a home environment, keeping your dog's usual routine as close to normal as possible.

I'm comfortable with most breeds and temperaments, though I'll always ask a few questions upfront to make sure it's a good match for both your dog and my setup. I'm based locally and can usually accommodate regular bookings as well as one-offs — get in touch and let's talk through what your dog needs.

Mark here.I have owned dogs for over 20yrs.Friendly and approachable guy who just loves dogs and animals in general.
The beautiful girl in my main picture is of my staffie "Madge"who sadly passed away in June 2025 and is still very much missed after 15yrs of love from me ️I absolutely adore dogs and would enjoy looking after your dog, taking it for walks and having cuddles on the sofa.I live in Great Wakering in Southend on sea and I am surrounded by fields, parks and some lovely dog walks.I am about a 5 minute drive to the beach if your dog loves the beach.I own my own house and have a secure garden which is pet friendly. My whole house is pet friendly and I allowed my previous dogs the run of the house. If you have reservations about your dog on beds, sofas etc then I would abide by this.I have looked after friends pets in the past, guinea pigs, tortoises and even tropical fish.I would accept any dog into my home as long as they are friendly.I currently work from home 3 days per week.I am not available on Tuesdays & Wednesdays due to work commitments.I do not work weekends.

My name is Ben and I am 32 years old.
Since childhood I have been a devoted animal lover.I have owned a dog, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens and a duck. I have also cared for my sisters bearded dragon. I have been pet sitting since I was 10, as I used to care for my neighbours cats while they were away.I started this service in 2018 with the idea from a family member and it’s developed ever since. There’s nothing more relaxing than looking after people’s pets.Love animals particularly dogs/cats sometimes more than humans I’m proud to say.
The only animals I can’t provide services for due to phobia are rats and mice.As of today I am working full time as a postman in Sevenoaks, so I won't be able to dog sit/house sitting anymore.
However I can still cat sit around work.
For example I can feed a customers cat in the morning before I go to work, and/or feed them their dinner in the evening once I've finished my shift. I am trustworthy, reliable and would ensure your pets individual needs are catered to the best standard possible, to ensure complete peace of mind while you are away.
As my pet sitting job requires travelling by car I will have to add an extra fee for petrol money, which is calculated by the distance between my flat to your location, how many trips and cost of at a local station.
Finally I’ve engaged in lots of activities since leaving school in 2010 from training in performing arts/drama school, Prince’s Trust programme, studying music and media at college and working at my old school.

Hi there! My name’s Laura, and I’m a bubbly, animal-loving adventurer who adores spending time outdoors. Whether it’s long walks through fields, playful runs in the park, or snuggling up at home, your dog will be treated like part of the family while they are with me.
I know how special the bond with your furry friend is, so I’ll make sure you’re always in the loop with photo updates and stories about the fun activities we’ve been up to together.
With full flexibility and availability, no job is too big or small for me. Need someone to walk your dog, take your pup to the vet, groomers, or even puppy training classes? I’ve got you covered!
If you’re looking for someone who’ll give your dog unlimited love, care, and exercise, I’d love to chat and see how I can help. Let’s make your dog’s time away from you just as happy and exciting as when they’re with you!

Hi, I’m Danni located in Chelmsford, the owner of my own pet-sitting business, PawsitiveSteps. I have over 4 years of experience caring for pets and absolutely love working with animals.
I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, happy and loved while in my care.
I have experience caring for dogs of different breeds, ages and personalities, as well as other pets. I’m confident following individual routines, including feeding, walks, playtime and providing plenty of attention and companionship.
When pets stay with me, I aim to keep their normal routine as closely as possible. This includes their usual feeding times, walks, toilet breaks, bedtime routine, playtime and any other requirements they may have. I’m happy to follow owners’ individual instructions so your pet can settle in and feel at home.
Walks are typically 30–60 minutes, depending on your dog’s age, breed, energy levels and usual routine. I’m happy to adapt the length and pace to suit each individual dog

Providing a safe environment is extremely important to me. Pets are carefully supervised, and I make sure my home is secure and suitable for the animals staying with me. I take time to understand each pet’s personality, behaviour and needs before their stay, including any dietary requirements, medication or things they may be nervous around.
Your pets will be left for a maximum of 4 hours a day if at all during their boarding. If there was to be an emergency the owner would be my first point of contact and if advised any contact details provide. If your fur babies requires walking it will be in my local beautiful peaceful field where my own dogs love to have a run around.
Through PawsitiveSteps, I offer house boarding and dog walking, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions your pet may have. I can also provide regular photos and updates so you can relax knowing your pet is being well looked after.
With 4 years of professional pet-care experience and running my own pet-sitting business, I’m reliable, caring and committed to giving every pet the individual care they deserve.

Hi there!
I’m a proud dog owner with two years of experience caring for both dogs and cats — and I absolutely love it. I’ve walked dogs of all sizes, fed both cats and dogs, played with them, and made sure they felt safe and happy while their owners were away.
Being around animals is always a joy for me, but I never let that joy distract me from their safety. I’m observant, responsible, and calm under pressure. I treat every pet like my own — with patience, love, and full attention.
One thing I enjoy doing is capturing little moments during the day and sending updates to owners. Whether it's a funny moment, a peaceful nap, or a happy tail wag, I’ll keep you in the loop so you can feel connected even while you're away.
I’m also comfortable following detailed instructions, routines, or any special care your pet needs. I'm usually available on weekends and during the day, so feel free to reach out and ask about specific times.
Whether it’s feeding, walking, cuddling, or just keeping your pet company, I’m here to help you and make your pet feel safe, seen, and loved every step of the way.
