  Willow: A sweet, snuggly &amp; gentle natured 9-month-old (as of July '26) dog (miniature dachshund).

Typically found snoozing in their bedroom. Safety gate in place in case separation is needed for them or your pooch/peace of mind:

I am 48 years old and have always had a deep love and respect for dogs.&nbsp;
We have 2 kids (8 &amp; 11 yeras old). We have our own house with fenced garden and my family loves dogs.
For 15 years, I shared my life with a wonderful Weimaraner who was truly part of my family. Sadly, she passed away a few months ago, and although I miss her every day. I feel grateful for the many years of joy, loyalty, and companionship she brought me.&nbsp;
Since then, I have realised how much I miss the daily routines of caring for a dog, the long walks, the playtime, and the small moments of connection that make dogs such amazing companions.

Hello! We’re Julia and Ramón, a couple living in Portsmouth. We are an architect and an aerospace engineer. We’ve both grown up with dogs back home in Spain – my Labrador has been with my family for over 13 years, while Ramón’s Staffy, which is 4 years, lives with his parents. We’ve spent years caring for them, so we understand how important it is for dogs to feel happy, loved, and safe.

As we can’t have our own dogs with us here, we’d love to help others by walking their dogs or looking after them in our home while they’re away. We have over a year of experience caring for many different dogs, and we’re always happy to follow each family’s routines and preferences.

We live in a one-bedroom house with a large terrace covered in artificial grass, perfect for dogs to play and relax. We’re also very close to the beach, which is ideal for long walks and letting dogs enjoy a bit of freedom.

I have recently brought a house in Cosham (January 2025) it's super dog friendly with lots of dog beds, dog toys, a safe garden space with 6' fences all round, toys in the garden as well as a small dog pool for when it's hot. I've also got lots of enrichment &amp; puzzle toys to stimulate the dogs while they're with me. I'm very relaxed with having dogs with me my home is also their home, the dogs are allowed on all the furniture like they would be at home. SJ's Sofa4Sighthounds is a 5* licensed home boarding facility exclusively for sighthounds. We are in the PO13 area, close to Fareham.
Whilst you are away for the day, a weekend, or a week or two, we can provide your sighthound with lots of comfort, company and safe walks.
Our resident dog is a 10 year old lurcher called Penny. We have 2 dog savvy children, the youngest is 10. Our back garden is a secure space for zoomies.
We are with the dogs at night too, to ensure they are warm and settled, and the particularly needy ones are welcome to snuggle if they wish.
Dogs will remain on leads when out and about with us. They will wear a Tractive GPS tracker on their collar throughout their stay with us.
Drop off and collection must be agreed by prior arrangement, (children and neighbours to consider).

My family and I are lifelong dog lovers — the kind who believe there’s nothing better than a snuggly pooch curled up beside you. We both grew up with family dogs, and my own beloved dog passed a few years ago. While we aren’t able to have a dog full‑time due to our work schedules, I’m a full‑time teacher and use my summer break to fill my home with wagging tails, happy paws, and plenty of cuddles.
We regularly care for our in‑laws’ Shih Tzu and Toy Poodle, as well as a friend’s Cockapoo, and we treat every dog like a cherished member of the family. I pride myself on providing attentive, gentle, and genuinely loving care — the kind of care I’d want for my own dog.

A typical day with me is calm, structured, and full of affection. I wake at 6:30am and start the day with a gentle fuss and a trip into the garden for a toilet break. At around 7am, as my husband leaves for work, I take the dog out for an early morning walk. I do this intentionally before the day warms up, giving them a refreshing, comfortable start. When we return home, breakfast is served exactly according to their usual routine, and fresh water is topped up throughout the day. The morning is relaxed and homely — lots of cuddles while I get housework done, with dogs welcome to snooze on the sofa, potter around the house, or enjoy a bit of playtime or enrichment depending on their personality.

Late morning or early afternoon often includes a family walk with my children, giving dogs extra exercise and stimulation. On cooler days, we sometimes head to the beach for a breezy walk and a change of scenery. The afternoons are peaceful and cosy; I settle down with a warm cup of coffee, and dogs usually curl up beside me for a long nap. When my husband returns from work, we head out for an evening walk together, followed by dinner, more cuddles, and a calm, comforting bedtime routine.

During the summer, I am home full‑time, so dogs are rarely left alone. If I do need to step out briefly — for groceries or a quick errand — dogs are left for no more than one to two hours, and only if owners are comfortable with this. I follow each dog’s feeding schedule precisely, whether they eat raw, kibble, or wet food, and I can confidently administer oral medication if needed. Any special routines, from cooling mats to favourite toys or crate naps, are happily followed.

Your dog’s safety is always my priority. I keep emergency contacts and vet details easily accessible, monitor dogs closely for signs of stress or overheating, and never allow off‑lead walking unless the owner has approved it and the environment is safe. I carry water, treats, and waste bags on every walk, and in the event of an emergency, I act immediately and contact the owner straight away.

In my care, your dog can expect a loving family home, plenty of exercise tailored to their needs, a predictable routine, constant companionship, and endless affection. I genuinely adore dogs, and I will treat your pooch like one of my own — maybe even better.

I’ve always had a love for animals and have grown up surrounded by pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, birds and fish. Over the years I’ve cared for animals of all different personalities and needs, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for.My experience includes caring for my own pets as well as looking after other people’s dogs and cats. My rabbit is kept safely separate from visiting dogs.As I’m also a registered childminder, pet care is arranged around my childcare hours and is only available outside of my childminding hours or on days when I don’t have children in my care. This means I’m selective about the bookings I accept, but it also allows me to give each pet the time, attention and care they deserve.My aim is to make being apart from your pet a little easier, giving you peace of mind that they’re being looked after with patience, kindness and genuine care.Availability is available, and I am local to shirley warren.
