For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Hertford for a doggy day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Hertford Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer doggy day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Hertford sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

Whilst I appreciate the former, I cater for the latter too.For dogs with a lot of energy, a typical day with me consists of a couple of long walks. Some mental stimulation, obedience training to reinforce what they know or teaching of tricks. For low energy dogs, I can stick to short walks, tummy rubs, cuddles, and massages. Daily videos and photos will be sent to you for the duration of their stay.

Hi! My name is Mia and I’m 23 years old. I live in Howlands, Welwyn Garden City, in close proximity to Sherrardspark Wood, one of my go-to spots for relaxed, fun dog walks surrounded by nature!

I studied animal care in college and I’ve been around animals my entire life. I previously worked at Pets at Home for over a year, so I’m very confident caring for pets day-to-day. I’ve also pet-sat for lots of friends and family, and have looked after many dogs and cats through BorrowMyDoggy. I’m a huge cat lover myself and grew up with them, so feline care is something I’m super comfortable with!

I have two cats at my family home (not at my current address), so any pets I board will have my flat entirely to themselves. This makes it an especially calm environment for cats who prefer quiet, stress-free spaces.

Services I offer:
1. Dog Walking
30–45 minutes tailored to your dog’s energy level, whether that’s a gentle stroll or an energetic walk. Plenty of exercise, fresh air, sniffing time, and bathroom breaks.

2. 1x Visit a Day
Up to 1 hour. Perfect for cats, dogs, rabbits, or small animals. Includes feeding, litter cleaning, fresh water, playtime, cuddles (if they want them!), and company.

3. 2x Visit a Day
Two visits, ideal for cats who need medication, kittens who need more attention, or dogs that get lonely during the day.

4. Doggy Day Care
Supervised care in my home: walks, playtime, and plenty of company.

5. Boarding (Cats & Dogs)
Overnight care in a safe, comfortable environment. Cats get a peaceful, quiet space, enrichment, brushing (if they enjoy it), and all the cosy spots they like to explore. Dogs get walks, play, and plenty of affection.

Other pets (cats, rabbits, fish, small animals etc.) Happy to discuss needs and pricing separately.

I’m available seven days a week and happy to fit visits or walks around your schedule, just let me know what works best for you!

Please let me know in advance if your pet has any medical conditions, is elderly, requires medication, or needs any special care. I’m confident with all breeds, ages, temperaments, and species.

I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I’m thrilled to have this opportunity and can’t wait to meet you and your furry (or scaly!) family.

I love all animals especially dogs and cats ,I've worked for years as self employed courier and decided to give it up so I could follow my passion and look after dogs in my home. I started to look after dogs recently and I have boarded at least ten dogs in a short period of time I'm still looking after a puppy who is a long stay two months and it's fantastic to be his guardian for awhile. I'm a stone throw from a large park I make sure the dogs in my care are walked three times a day and they are given activities to stimulate them and keep them happy, I also have a back garden and a gate to keep the dogs safe , I have large room inside my home the dogs seem to prefer sleeping on my sofa lol. The service I provide is dog boarding and day care I even take on puppies if need be, I'm available for boarding and day care right through till Christmas and short notice is accepted if there is space . I always keep dogs on a leash when out walking I know quite a lot of people with dogs on my local park and have never had a problem with any of them all well behaved. Over the years I've cared for many pets, now I have time on my hand I'm home all day I've got time to play your pet is in safe hands. I like routine so it's perfect for me I love exercise which is ideal to fit in with my daily routine, I'm a stone throw away from a large park I have a large living area and upstairs space also a back garden which I'm doing up. Because I no longer work I have free time to do what I enjoy and that's looking after and walking dogs and cats. My routine is simple home all day apart from visits to the shops for essential items, otherwise pet care fit's handsomely into my daily routine. I have a large living area to board and sit dogs and also three rooms upstairs so I can usually board 4 dogs at the same time my garden is also large although I prefer going to the park which is one minute away.
