Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Alton home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Alton.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Alton home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi, I'm Meadbh and I just finished my Bachelor's degree in Journalism at the University of Winchester. My cat, Huhu, is an 8 year old tabby who came into our lives after my work manager could no longer look after him, and he's the sweetest boy ever. But even before him, I've always loved animals. I am autistic, so I often find myself saying that animals understand me better than humans, and vice versa. I love seeing all their personalities; their curiosity, cheekiness, how cuddly they are, or if they're a bit more shy. And I know it's cliché, but animals tend to love me too - I love giving dogs the scratches they love, playing with cats, or just sometimes sitting with a bunny who needs another body in the room.My extended family comes from a farming background, so caring for animals is in my very nature. I may not be a trained professional, but I'm more than happy to walk your dog or check in on your fur baby when you're away on business or for a holiday, because I know how much peace of mind it gives me to get an update every day on my kitty whenever I'm not at home. I can cater my work to you and your pet's needs, whether that's just making sure their water is fresh and litter box empty for the day, walking them for a few weeks while you settle in with the new baby, or feeding them a few times a day and playing with them while you finally take that trip to the Maldives. I'm very flexible, so just let me know!

I live in a chalet type bungalow 2 storey with my husband and 2 teenages sons 16 & 18. I have garden for animals to play and roam outside. I have had several of family and friends pets over but ideally would prefer to house sit but more than happy to do daycare. I was working full time and often did this to help friends out but since I have been made redundant after 30 years in one job and I love running and animals this seemed to be the ideal time to make the change.I have a Country Park 10 mins down the road and access to many rural areas for dog walks. I have always had animals throughout my life and have a true passion for there well being and keeping

Hi, I’m Nicole — the owner of Nicole’s Purrfect Paws! I’m a reliable, caring and passionate animal lover based in the UK, offering pet sitting, dog walking, home visits and house sitting services. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life, and I truly understand how important it is for pet owners to feel confident and comfortable leaving their pets in someone else’s care.I have experience caring for dogs, cats and smaller pets with a range of personalities, routines and needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, older and needing a gentler pace, shy and nervous, or simply loves lots of affection and attention, I always adapt my care to suit them individually. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to build trust and make them feel safe, comfortable and loved while you are away.My goal is to make your pet feel as relaxed and happy as possible in their own familiar environment or during their walks and visits with me. I know leaving your pet can feel stressful, so I make communication a priority and provide regular photo and message updates throughout bookings for peace of mind.A normal day with me will always include plenty of attention, affection, playtime, exercise and maintaining your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. For dogs, this includes walks tailored to their energy levels and needs, enrichment activities, toilet breaks, feeding schedules and lots of companionship. For cats and smaller pets, I ensure feeding routines, litter cleaning, cage cleaning, playtime and comfort are all carefully looked after. For house sitting bookings, I treat your home respectfully and professionally while ensuring your pets have company, care and consistency throughout the day and night. I’m also happy to help with small household tasks during longer bookings, such as bringing in post, watering plants and keeping your home tidy and secure.During home visits, I usually spend quality time with your pet rather than simply popping in quickly. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, medication if required, litter tray or garden cleaning, playtime, cuddles and companionship to help your pets feel settled while you’re away. For dog walking, I focus on safe, enjoyable walks suited to your dog’s age, confidence and exercise requirements. I always prioritise safety, comfort and positive experiences during walks.I pride myself on being dependable, patient and attentive. Your pet’s safety, happiness and wellbeing will always come first. I understand how much trust goes into choosing a sitter, and I aim to provide the same level of love and care I would want for my own pets.I’m happy to arrange a meet and greet before bookings so you and your pets can get to know me, discuss routines, preferences and any special requirements. Building trust with both pets and owners is extremely important to me.Thank you for considering me to care for your furry family members — I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon!

I am an animal-loving student, keen to make some money doing something that I love, which is caring for animals. I have experience pet sitting rabbits, dogs, cats and hamsters. I have cared for my 18 year old cat, Monty, for my whole life, and my 7 year old black labrador, Millie, too. I have also owned hamsters and fish in the past. I am passionate about animal welfare and would love to care for your pet while you are away. I am aware that while some animals love to be fussed and played with, others prefer space, and I can give your pet whichever they would prefer. I am also punctual and responsible, skills I developed in previous hospitality jobs, so you can be certain your furry friend is in capable hands.

Hi, I’m Abbie.
I am twenty two years old and live on the Surrey-Hampshire border close to Grayshott. I’ve grown up around animals and have a severn year old cocker spaniel named Maisy. I’ve always enjoyed being around pets and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for them when you are away on a well deserved break or are unable to be there for them at home.
I’ve looked after dogs and cats for friends and neighbours over the years, and I really enjoy spending time with animals in my free time. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to help.
I work in a local solicitors doing finance but love spending time with animals in my free time. Please feel free to get in touch and I look forward to hearing from you. ️

I am a true animal lover and can’t wait to meet your fur baby!

As a lifelong pet owner and devoted animal lover, I have cared for dogs, cats, and a variety of other pets throughout my life. My experience includes handling large breeds, providing basic training support, and adapting to the unique needs of every animal in my care.

For boarding and daycare, pets stay in my home in a calm, pet-friendly environment. I have a secure, comfortable space where dogs can relax, play, and sleep - whether that means curling up on a dog bed in the livingroom or in the kitchen or settling on the sofa. Pets are never left alone for more than 2-3 hours, and I maintain their usual feeding schedules and routines to keep them settled.

Daily walks typically last 30-45 minutes, adjusted to your pet’s age, breed, and energy level. I handle feeding carefully, always following the owner’s instructions, and in case of any health concern or emergency, I will contact you immediately and, if needed, take your pet straight to the nearest vet.

I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they receive love, attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away. My goal is to give both pets and owners complete peace of mind. ️

I have owned cats and dogs and will take care of your pet as if it were my own. I will offer enrichment, cuddles and exercise to your pet. I have a good level of knowledge about dog training and behaviour and a good understanding of body language. I look forward to connecting with you and caring for your pet.
I work full time but I am looking to do some pet sitting on the side to have a little bit of extra income as well as spend time with animals, as we are not able to have our own pet at the moment. I work from home each Wednesday so have more flexibility for walks / sitting on a Wednesday. Otherwise it would need to be mornings / evenings and weekends.
I love cats and dogs and would prefer to take care of small and medium dogs, unless they are very well behaved large dogs.
I enjoy being outside so walking in all weathers will not be an issue. I have cared for my own elderly cat, and gone through the puppy training stage with a stubborn whippet!
