Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Brentwood home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Brentwood.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Brentwood home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello
My name is Charlotte, I'm 32 and I work as an online English Teacher. Since I started working remotely, I have also spent a lot of time doing house and pet sitting, so I have a lot of experience looking after pets (particularly dogs and cats) in your home. During house sits, I am responsible for all feeds, overnight care, walking dogs, changing litter trays for cats, and of course lots of attention and play time! I have been doing this nearly full time over the past year.
I love animals and I have experience with pets, particularly dogs and small animals. I grew up with a dog, and absolutely loved growing up with a pet and having animals around. I don't currently have any pets of my own, so I love to spend time with animals when I can. I also had small pets growing up such as Guinea pigs and hamsters, so I am also comfortable being around smaller animals.
I look forward to hearing from you! Please feel free to reach out and ask any questions about me.
Charlotte

I've always loved dogs and have owned 2 very happy and healthy pups, a cavalier king charles spaniel, Neo and recently a 6 month old cocker spaniel, Portland. I have taken care of family dogs for the last few years including border terriers, schnauzers and German & Belgian shepherds.
I offer walks, whether that's a quick walk round the block at lunch or a long adventure in the woods, I factor in your dogs needs and requirements.
Happy to pop in and keep them company during the day, providing as many belly rubs as possible and playtime to keep them busy. I also provide longer stays if needed, whether that's a couple of hours or company for the day.
I can offer my services on the weekends;
Dog walking
House visits
House stays
I'd love to meet your furry friends and get to know them and you! Please feel free to message me to arrange or if you have any questions I am more than happy to chat.

Hello! :)
My name is Leon and I am a full time dog walker/sitter based in the Thamesmead area. I have recently moved into a spacious house with a big garden, perfect for dogs.
I also live directly opposite 'the tor', a big hill surrounded by green space, ideal for a nice play or walk, mere meters from the house.
Ideally, I would only take vaccinated dogs in my own home but I would be open to discussing the matter if that were an issue.
I have worked with dogs on and off for the last 4/5 years and have experience with many different types of dogs.
I spent 4 months working in rescue centres in Spain, where I handled some very difficult dogs, giving me the skills to work with slightly more dangerous dogs. I have done some vet work as well as working with all kinds of dogs on their wellbeing and rehabilitation.
I also have a lot of experience working with reactive dogs and helping them integrate into society and socialise with humans + dogs.
Working with dogs is my passion in life, and I'm confident I can tailor to your dogs needs, no matter their requirements.
What Do I Offer?

I offer sitting and boarding services in my home in Thamesmead. As you can see in the photos provided, I have a large, spacious garden + decking area. The entire garden is fenced. I have a spacious kitchen that leads into the garden, which is where I'll be spending my time with doggos on a rainy day. You may also notice the gazeebo on the decking - if a dog really wants to be outside and it's a bit wet, I will use the gazeebo with a nice comfortable bed in there to allow them to relax outside.
While your dog is staying in my home, I will spend time playing with them, training (if previously discussed with owner) and taking them on walks to the local park, which as you can see from the photos provided is directly opposite my house.
Before your dog comes here - I think it's necessary to do a meet and greet, whether that is the dog coming to meet me here, or for me to come to meet them in your home, that is up to you! This just gives the dog some confidence when they are first left with me.
I am determined to make sure every dog feels welcome into my property, and over the coming weeks I will be making the garden more and more dog friendly! I have a huge decking, which will be filled with dog beds and toys! I can't wait to work with you and your dog, if you have any queries regarding my services - please feel free to get in touch!

All the best and look forward to hearing from you,

Leon

Hi! I’m Halle, an animal lover with a lifelong passion caring for pets.
I love giving animals cuddles and attention, but I’m just as happy keeping them company while they relax. I have hands-on experience such as currently working in a kennel and cattery, where I care for cats and dogs through walking, feeding, administering medication, cleaning, and ensuring their health and safety. I’ve also completed courses in animal behaviour and hold a Pet Psychology Diploma.

Growing up, my home was always full of animals, and I’ve rescued several along the way. My most recent, Marshmallow, a sweet cat with medical issues and an unfortunate feral background. He taught me the importance of patience and gentle care. I am very comfortable working with anxious or nervous animals, always focusing on helping them feel secure and minimising stress.

I know how hard it is to leave your pets, so I treat every animal as if they were my own by offering love, attention, and consistent care. I’m also happy to keep you updated for extra peace of mind. Nothing makes me happier than helping animals feel safe, comfortable, and loved, whether through cuddles, companionship, or attentive care tailored to their needs🤍

PLEASE READ:

Same Household Rule: For walks, I only take pets from the same household at one time for safety and comfort.

Behavioural Information: Please let me know in advance if your pet has any behaviours I should be aware of, such as guarding, biting, anxiety, nervousness, or leash reactivity.

Health & Safety: Pets should be in good health for walks. Please make me aware if your pet needs limited exercise, gentle play only, or no play at all so I can tailor care to their needs.

Emergency Contact: If you will not have quick access to your phone, please provide me with an alternative emergency contact.

Walking Gear: Dogs should have a secure, well-fitted harness or collar and lead provided by the owner.

Feeding & Medication: If your pet requires food or medication, clear instructions must be given in writing or by text message, clearly.

House Access: Please ensure I can safely and securely access your home for visits/walks.

Weather Conditions: Walks may be shortened or adjusted in extreme weather (very hot, icy, or stormy conditions) to ensure your pet’s safety.

Extra Information: Some details may not seem necessary, but any information you can provide me about your pet is always helpful in making sure they’re cared for in the best way possible.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me as I'd be happy to answer. My main concern is the safety and happiness of your pet but also your reassurance of my care️

Hello pets and pet owners!
My name is Karly, I'm Italian and I've been living in the UK for 13 years. I now live in East Ham.I've spent my whole life surrounded by many cats and 2 dogs who lived 12 and 13 years. The moment I moved here I realised how much I love pets and how much I miss them, as I've always lived in pet-free flats, unfortunately.
I'm a waitress and waiting-staff supervisor at events in Central London and I don't have a fixed timetable, which is actually better for me when it comes to sitting, as I can easily fit the pet visits into my schedule.
I'm also an official cat sitter on another website; I've taken care of some families' cats in Streatham (thanks to the website and word of mouth). My duties include feeding them, playing with them, petting them, changing their water, cleaning their litter. All based on what the owners want and how they want it done.I'm also willing to give them medications, whether required, if the cats are calm, non-aggressive and happy to recive them by someone else other than their owners.
From now on I'd like to take care of dogs too. I really miss playing fetch with them, going for a walk or pet them!
Unfortunately I won't be able to take care of them in my house as I live in a pet-free flat. But I'll be more than happy to come to your home, in your pet's home, where they feel most confortable and taking them around if required and do all the things needed to make your pets and you, owner, content.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to check my profile.Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi, I'm Ainhoa Isabel. I have been a pet sitter, but most of my experience has come from taking care of cats in owners' homes or bringing them into my home, although I have two twin cats. They're not unfriendly with other cats and at the end they get along very well and they even play around the house.
And also I have dog walking frequently with medium and firm dogs, the overall experience has been patient with gain the trust and love for the days time by time so it does get comfortable walking with the doggie. For example by making them run and release that energy playing with toys which also allows them keep it exercised.
So the routine i follow while I am pet sitting a dog is supervise they make their needs and then I start exercising them while also enjoy playing.I'm allowed to enjoy with the pets and also take care of their health and their needs, so at the end, if you give me the opportunity and the responsibility, I'll do my best for you and your pet.I can take pets with their regular vaccines and also pets that haven't been exposed to other cats to my home.
Thank you, and feel free to contact me

Professional Dog Walking & Pet Care Services in LondonI offer reliable, caring, and professional dog walking and pet care services across London. Animals have been an important part of my life since childhood — I grew up surrounded by pets and have cared for many dogs and other animals over the years. This lifelong passion naturally led me to work professionally with animals. As my experience grew, I also assisted veterinarians in Ukraine, where I gained strong hands-on knowledge of animal behaviour, basic health monitoring, and proper daily care. This background allows me to confidently work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, always prioritising their safety, comfort, and wellbeing.Daily routine & walksEach day is structured around the dogs’ needs. Walks are planned based on energy level, weather conditions, and owner preferences. During walks, I focus not only on physical exercise but also on mental stimulation — allowing time for sniffing, calm exploration, and positive interaction with the environment. I ensure dogs have access to water, take breaks when needed, and return them home calm and relaxed.Individual approach & enrichmentI understand that every dog is unique. Before each booking, I take time to learn about your dog’s routine, personality, and any special requirements. I can incorporate basic training reinforcement during walks, such as leash manners, recall practice (where appropriate), calm behaviour, and positive reward-based interactions. For senior dogs or dogs that require a gentler pace, I provide slower walks, extra patience, and attentive care.Safety & emergency handlingSafety is always my top priority. I use secure leads and harnesses when needed, closely monitor dogs for signs of stress or fatigue, and avoid unsafe situations. Thanks to my veterinary assistance background, I am calm and organised in unexpected situations. In case of illness, injury, or emergency, I follow owner instructions, provide basic first-response care if appropriate, and contact the owner immediately.Reliability & communicationI offer flexible services in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Pet owners can expect clear communication, punctuality, and genuine care. I provide updates when needed and always follow agreed routines.I treat every dog as if they were my own — with patience, kindness, and respect — and aim to provide a safe, positive, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners.
