Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Darton home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Darton.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Darton home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I’m a caring, reliable, and attentive pet sitter with a genuine passion for animal wellbeing. My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from the joy I get from building trust with animals and helping them feel safe, calm, and happy while their owners are away. I understand that leaving a pet can be stressful, so I focus on providing consistent, personalised care that mirrors their usual routine as closely as possible.
I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and needs. For example, I’ve looked after energetic dogs who need longer, structured walks and plenty of playtime, as well as more relaxed or older pets who prefer gentle walks and quiet companionship. During walks, I stay alert to my surroundings, keep dogs on secure leads, and adjust pace and distance based on the dog’s comfort and ability.
I also have experience caring for pets who feel anxious or unsettled. In these situations, I take a calm, patient approach, using reassurance, routine, and familiar activities to help them relax. Playtime is always tailored to the pet — whether that’s throwing a ball, interactive games, or calm indoor play.
Safety and hygiene are always a priority for me. I closely supervise pets at all times, follow owner instructions carefully, and only accept fully vaccinated pets to ensure a healthy environment. My goal is to give every pet individual attention and every owner complete peace of mind.

Hi I'm Amy, I'm 31 years old and based in Swinton, Rotherham. I have many years experience cat sitting and dog walking, along with experience of caring for and handling other animal types through my own previous pets and college studies. I am currently studying Animal Management full time, work part-time in cleaning, and also provide regular pet sitting for private clients alongside my Pawshake profile. I have grown up with pets such as cats (both indoor and outdoor), hamsters, gerbils, fish and budgies. I am currently very pleased to be sharing my home with my own cat shaped fluff called Ziggy. I'm open to any queries about visit times and I am available on weekends. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and would be more than happy to do a pre meet to make sure I'm the right sitter for your pet. I am available for visits of 1 or 2 times a day, dog walking, and house sitting/night sits if required. I would also be happy to meet specific time requirements for visits as I know pets can have varying needs. During visits I would be happy to send photos, videos and updates of your pet while you're away if that is something you would like and I would also be happy to complete light domestic duties if requested such as washing pots, watering plants and taking bins out. If you have any other smaller pets such as hamsters, fish or similar, I would be happy to also care for them during visits so please don't hesitate to ask. I hope to hear from you soon and I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

I've been dog walking professionally for years, as well as boarding. We've had everything from Pomeranians to Alaskan Malamutes. I've handled extremely strong (physically and mentally) dogs of all breeds so I'm not put off by much! All the dogs get to stay in a home from home environment during their stay, they allowed on sofas and have free roam of the house, we try to encourage to stay off the bed but can always have a quick cuddle in the morning. On walks, I take most my dogs to secure fields where they can be let off lead and have full freedom, as well as a good play with other dogsI've got qualifications in Animal Management, Canine Buisness and I'm Pet First Aid trained. I'm a massive dog person and always have been! I finally got my first dog in 2021 and he's the best thing I've ever bought. He's super chill and loves company from fellow dog friends. Although massive on dogs, I am partial to a cat or two Your pets will be very well cared for and loved unconditionally.

I live in Methley and work for myself as a beauty therapist and therapy educator, I am fairly flexible to be able to visit am and pm times to feed, clean up after, play with and have cuddles with your little ones.Christmas Bank Holidays and Easter Bank Holidays fees are double...other Bank Holidays normal rates apply.
I have 1 cat who is an 11-year-old Birman, beautiful nature but a little vocal at times and she is deaf and doesn't like it when she can't find me! I also have 3 rabbits, 1 indoor free rein and 2 in the converted garden shed, I have a fair amount of experience with rabbits and 20+ years of experience with cats!

I happy to do any of the following (so long as the pet allows it);

Grooming - Brushing
Cuddles
Playtime
Medications in food if needed
Warming food up for those that give pets warm meals in winter

My dedication to animal welfare is deeply ingrained, I've been vegan for 10 years and vegetarian for 15 years prior to that. Growing up with animals from a very young age has given me a lifetime of hands on experience and understanding. Beyond pet sitting, I actively assist with animal rescue efforts and proudly donate a portion of my income from pet sitting to various animal charities both in the UK and internationally. This isn't just a job for me, it's a core part of my commitment to animal wellbeing.I am a devoted animal lover with a genuine passion for pet care, specialising in making even the most timid animals feel comfortable and loved. There's nothing I enjoy more than showering animals with affection and ensuring their happiness. I pride myself on going above and beyond to meet the unique needs of every pet in my care.To ensure everyone is happy with the arrangement, I offer complimentary meet and greets before confirming any bookings. You can also rest assured knowing I am fully insured and DBS checked (my status is continuously updated through the NHS auto enrolment service). Furthermore, I hold a Level 3 qualification in Animal Management, which I earned through a comprehensive three year college program.

Hi, I’m Lorna. I’m a friendly, reliable pet sitter and I genuinely love animals. I’ve had dogs for over 25 years and have always grown up around pets, so caring for them has always been a big part of my life. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, and I’ll always do my best to make sure they feel safe, happy and well looked after. I’m DBS checked and fully insured too, so you can have extra peace of mind.
I offer dog walking, pop-in visits and boarding for dogs, cats and small pets. Dog walks are usually 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on your dog and what suits them best. I like to keep the number of dogs I walk at one time low so they get plenty of attention, and I’m happy to do solo walks if that would suit your dog better. Pop-in visits can include feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, letting pets out, giving medication if needed, playtime, cuddles and company. Boarding is very much a home-from-home service, where pets are treated like part of the family and kept to their usual routine as much as possible.
I’m happy to help with regular bookings, occasional cover and holiday care, depending on availability. If there was ever an emergency, I would contact you straight away and/or any other emergency contact. If needed, I would take your pet to your registered vet or the nearest available vet. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always come first.
Every pet is different, so I take the time to get to know their routine, personality and needs. Whether your dog needs a walk, your cat needs company and care at home, or your pet needs a safe and cosy place to stay, I’ll look after them as if they were my own.
