My dedication to animal welfare is deeply ingrained, I've been vegan for 10 years and vegetarian for 15 years prior to that. Growing up with animals from a very young age has given me a lifetime of hands on experience and understanding. Beyond pet sitting, I actively assist with animal rescue efforts and proudly donate a portion of my income from pet sitting to various animal charities both in the UK and internationally. This isn't just a job for me, it's a core part of my commitment to animal wellbeing.I am a devoted animal lover with a genuine passion for pet care, specialising in making even the most timid animals feel comfortable and loved. There's nothing I enjoy more than showering animals with affection and ensuring their happiness. I pride myself on going above and beyond to meet the unique needs of every pet in my care.To ensure everyone is happy with the arrangement, I offer complimentary meet and greets before confirming any bookings. You can also rest assured knowing I am fully insured and DBS checked (my status is continuously updated through the NHS auto enrolment service). Furthermore, I hold a Level 3 qualification in Animal Management, which I earned through a comprehensive three year college program.

I’ve loved dogs all my life, and that love grew even stronger because of my Pomeranian, who lived joyfully with me for ten years before passing away due to health reasons. Losing him was heartbreaking, but it also reminded me how deeply I connect with animals and how much comfort they bring. I truly believe dogs are the best beings on earth, and becoming a pet sitter allows me to stay close to that happiness while supporting owners who want their pets to feel safe and cared for. I have experience looking after dogs for friends and neighbours, helping with walks, feeding, playtime, gentle routines and general daily comfort. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel understood and relaxed. For safety, I only take vaccinated pets into my home. I offer a calm, clean and friendly environment where every dog is welcomed with genuine love and attention.

I currently volunteer at a renowned Cat rescue in Bradford where I have been working for 12 years. I have experience working with ill cats, cats with special needs, and kittens of all ages. I also foster for the rescue so i am used to looking after different cats with different personalities.
I have grown up with cats all my life and currently have 5 cats of my own, all of which are rescues, Minx, Missy, Ninja, Cagney and Rascal. They range in ages from 3 to 14. 3 of them have been with me since they were kittens. They all have different personalities and are loving cuddly cats.
 I have a National Diploma in Animal Care from Craven college.
I enjoy meeting different cats, making friends with them and earning their trust- even the shy nervous ones. If i were to look after your cats i would treat them like they were my own. They would get cuddles if they wanted, the care and attention they deserve. I would also be happy to take daily pictures of your cats and send them to you. I would want to come and meet your cats before you go away to learn their routine and any medical or additional needs they have.&nbsp;


Quick note: I work part-time, 8-10 hour shifts in Lindley, Huddersfield which prevent me from dog sitting long periods; cat sitting is fine as long as you're happy with me being away from the home for half the day on random days (3-4 days of the week). I don't have a car and only pet sit in areas within an 8 mile cycle radius of Huddersfield. Thanks.Introduction&nbsp;Hello! I'm Chris. I'm relatively new to Pawshake however please don't mistake that for inexperience. I semi often look after my friends' cats and dogs whenever they go on holiday and I love it for mainly two reasons: One, I love hanging out, playing with and caring for my furry friends and Two, it means a lot to me that my friends trust me with their pets.&nbsp;My experience&nbsp;Over the years, I've dog and cat sat for quite a few of my friends. I believe the reason they always ask me is, not only do they trust me but also I've got to know their pets really well through play and being around them for long periods of time. Their pets are comfortable around me and me them. Having a dog growing up definitely helped me understand animals better (my wee Jack Russell, Toffee - I miss him so much! ) alas I do believe I'm naturally good with cats and dogs, regardless. My experience with dogs has ranged from looking after my friend Gail's two tiny Papillon, one very high energy and playful, the other older and more reserved, to my other friend Elisa's huge St. Bernard puppy - very friendly and sweet yet needed a lot of attention and play (and also a bit stubborn, not judging at all!). I have cat sat for my friends, Thomas and Adélie, quite a few times - they have a beautiful British Shorthair, Ravelle. I am privileged enough to have bonded with Ravelle from when he was a kitten with lots of play; I wish I could say cuddles but British Shorthair are not commonly known to be very cuddly! He is wary of most of Thomas and Adélie's friends but will happily sit very close to me when I visit, something my friends are always surprised at. I think it's because we bonded so well during those early years.Why I'm a dog walker / pet sitterThe main motivations for looking after animals is because I have decided to change my career. I'm studying to become a psychotherapist. This is much more suited to who I am as a person — I'm empathetic, caring and, ultimately, I want to help people. As I absolutely adore cats and dogs, to me, it's a no brainer to offer my services in any way I can as I'd be doing something I love and that I'm good at. I feel not only am I doing something I love but I'm helping people, which is a big part of my values and who I am as a person. Knowing your pet (let's face it, your furry child) is in safe and happy is crucial - I believe I have the experience and what it takes to just do that.&nbsp;

I also have my recent canine/feline first aid certificate.During my visits with your fur pets, I will provide food, water and of course enrichment and play time. Hi I'm John, I am family man of 6 children and many grandchildren, we have had pets all our life so far, dogs which are great companions called lucky and Beauty, they were loved and cared for many years ago, love playing and walking and cuddles groomed , also we have had many cats and kittens, also loved and cared for, especially my own cat cheeky, she was a cheeky girl got In to mischief but that was her personality. She got in to trouble with community whom sadly miss treated her abused her, ever fire works attached to her , this created anxiety and depression to her life, she also got knocked over by car had her pelvis rebuilt , thankfully made full recovery with my support she got back on her feet. She has been my friend and companion for over 21 years after passing. She is still with me in my heart. She comes where ever I am. Now we have a two year old cat Harry new in our family. 
Every pet deserves the love and attentiveness and a friend. I am happy to come and spend time with your friends too.&nbsp;To help care for your loved ones and support them, sadly I am unable to provide boarding or day care in my home as I'm not licensed as of yet. But I do believe in your pets best interest they are more comfortable in their own home environment.
