Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Essex home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Essex.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Essex home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

JanineAlways loved dogs. Walking the neighbour's dog when I was 12 years old. When I got my own dog, I walked the two dogs together. I then went on to be a Mobile Dog Groomer. I did training with my dog Robbie, we went to dog training classes and were awarded with a certificate and rosette.I did a Dog First Aid course and a course in Dog Psychology.I have owned Gold Fish, a Rabbit and 5 Hamsters so have some experience of small animal care. Darren I have owned a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Sam and a cross breed Westie/ Cairn Terrier named Boycie.I have also looked after a Jack Russell Terrier called Oscar. I fed and walked him twice a day. When younger I walked my Nan's Pekinese dogs, they needed regular brushing to keep their coats nice.I have looked after a Terrapin, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits for family members so have experience in small animal care.

Hello my name is Laura I offer house sitting, drop in visits, dog training and dog walking. I was volunteering at dog shelter for 4 years back in my home country Slovakia and I loved every second of it. I absolutely love animals it's my passion since I was a child and I love taking care of them I always wanted to work with animals it has been always my dream since I was little. You can rely on me that your best friend is going to be in best hands! I have a experience as a dog trainer as well. I can't have a dog at the moment so this is the way I would love to spend some more time with animals. I am very flexible with my work, so I can accommodate for your dog baby at most times. I can take them for walks or make day visits for feeding and playing or dog sit for the day. I am very responsible please feel free to message me if you have any question. I am very patient and caring and will do my best for your pet to feel comfortable. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with animals as it makes me very happy! I can't wait to meet you and your pet family! Please don't hesitate to drop me a message!!! Thank you

“From playful walks to cosy companionship, Tia & Paws is dedicated to keeping your pets happy, safe, and loved while you’re away.”
I’ve always had a natural connection with animals, and that passion is what drives me as a pet sitter. Working my part‑time job at Medivet has strengthened my understanding of animal care, behaviour, and overall wellbeing.
Alongside my part time role at Medivet, I run Tia & Paws, where I offer dog walking, drop‑ins, pet‑sitting & pet taxi services for all small animals. My motivation comes from knowing how important it is for owners to feel completely at ease when they’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.
If you’re looking for someone caring, reliable, and experienced in both professional and home‑based pet care, I’d be delighted to help.

Hi everyone, if you don’t know me I’m Laura.
I’ve had the joy of looking after Dogs for friends and family over the past 10 years. Animals are a true passion of mine, therefore I decided to take things a step further and make it a permanent lifestyle.
Combining my love of animals with work.

I’ve always had dogs myself but after loosing my last fur baby I decided that looking after other people’s furry pets would give me the best of both worlds.

I’ve been very lucky to have many dogs over the years, with a mix of breeds from small to large. One in particular came with behavioural & health issues due to being a rescue, therefore handling dogs with all dispositions would be my forte.

Public Liability insurance held. Please message with any questions you may have or to book in.

My services I am offering include….
- Dog walking including single walks, multi pet household walks & groups walks up to 3 already socialised dogs.
- Pet sitting - I’m happy to pet sit for all animals requiring walks, feeds & attention.
(I am able to homestay for holidays but will have limited availability)
- pet drop ins - daily feeds, companion time & medication administration

Thank you
Laura

You could probably open a zoo with the amount of animals I've had to look after / own / care for! My childhood has always been surrounded by furry friends and even when younger my parents used to dog sit! I've got a little experience of playing and looking after ferrets and cats but my biggest knowledge is dogs of all ages and sizes. I'm available throughout the day at different times but happy to adjust to your animal's needs if there's a specific time required. If your animal is a nervous one, we can arrange a meet up so that it's not a stranger on their first meet in their home. Home visits can be adjusted, I set the times for 30 mins or an hour but if more / less is needed just let me know. Walks can also be adjusted depending on the fitness level, age and demand of your pet. I also love taking photos so the chances are you'll have a pet photoshoot included! By day to day I'm cabin crew due to my restricted flying hours I get a lot of time off and with plans to hopefully buy my own home next year with my partner, I'm looking to earn some extra money to help us get there a little bit quicker! It's vital for an animal to get their daily walks and exercise and sometimes life gets in the way of being able to get them the full attention they deserve. If you have any questions, doubts or worries, drop me a message and I'm always happy to send updated pictures and messages to reassure you that your furry child is in great hands!

My husband and I are keen adventurers we love walking, nature and cosying up to watch a movie. We are very disciplined with pet routines and are very keen to spoil them with lots of affection once they warm up to us. I have owned numerous pets including aquatic pets (fish/axolotl), birds(budgies), rats, and chickens since childhood. All of which have lived well past their maximum life expectancy, and have had positive reports from their vets. I have even managed to travel with my pets they settled well. We love pets and would love to own more if we could move to a bigger space (dog or cat). My husband and I would love to travel the uk more and we are open to any setup. We are currently only available during school holidays due to our work. Please get in touch, we'd love to consider your pet sitting request. We are offering house and petsitting opportunities during school holidays; we would love to travel away from our local area and are open to UK wide bookings.

Hi there! My name’s Laura, and I’m a bubbly, animal-loving adventurer who adores spending time outdoors. Whether it’s long walks through fields, playful runs in the park, or snuggling up at home, your dog will be treated like part of the family while they are with me.
I know how special the bond with your furry friend is, so I’ll make sure you’re always in the loop with photo updates and stories about the fun activities we’ve been up to together.
With full flexibility and availability, no job is too big or small for me. Need someone to walk your dog, take your pup to the vet, groomers, or even puppy training classes? I’ve got you covered!
If you’re looking for someone who’ll give your dog unlimited love, care, and exercise, I’d love to chat and see how I can help. Let’s make your dog’s time away from you just as happy and exciting as when they’re with you!

Hi! I’m Evan, 21, from Springfield, Chelmsford. I’m a big animal lover with 5+ years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and other animals such as cats, rabbits and reptiles.

I’ve worked at a dog daycare and studied at ARU Writtle College with a focus on animal management and dog grooming. I also regularly look after and walk dogs in my local area. I’m confident caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities and I treat every dog as if they were my own.

I offer dog walking, overnight stays and house drop-ins, and am available most days with plenty of flexibility. I also enjoy being active so I’m more than happy to keep up with energetic dogs who love long walks.

Your pet’s happiness, safety and comfort are my top priorities. Please get in touch to schedule a meet and greet with you and your pet
