Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Heanor home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Heanor.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Heanor home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

"I am a warm, reliable, and dedicated pet sitter with a genuine passion for animal welfare. My goal is to provide a stress-free experience for both pets and owners through clear communication and high-quality care. My Services & RoutineFor dog walking, I offer 30 to 60-minute sessions tailored to your pet's fitness level. Whether it’s an energetic run through the park or a gentle, exploratory stroll, I ensure they get the exercise and mental stimulation they need. During home visits or stays, my daily routine includes scheduled feeding, refreshing water, cleaning bowls/litter, and plenty of one-on-one playtime and snuggling to keep them comfortable. Safety & BehaviorI am experienced in handling different pet behaviors, from excitable, high-energy puppies to shy or anxious seniors. I use positive reinforcement and stay calm to keep them focused. To ensure safety, I always conduct a thorough walk-through of your home to identify hazards and keep dogs on a lead at all times in public spaces. I am also fully prepared for emergencies by keeping your vet's contact info on hand and following your specific safety protocols. Updates & CommunicationI believe in keeping owners connected and worry-free. You will receive regular photo and text updates after every visit or walk so you can see exactly how your furry friend is doing. Your pet's safety and happiness are my top priorities."

I have kept dogs of my own for a long time and therefore have a wealth of knowledge within the pet care industry. in my 50's with pets of my own, I can, t, appreciate the importance of having visitors you can trust to look after your pets.I have a van which has secure cages to transport your dogs, and will pick up from your home and then transport to an area where the dogs can be exercised, therefore maximising the time that they can be in the park. I can do group walks or solo walks, the choice is yours. Walks normally last for either half an hour or one hour depending on your requirements. Around us are plenty of parks and fields where we can walk your dogs, and Attenborough nature reserve is only a short distance away, as well as places such as Wollaton parkI am are fully insured with public liability, enabling me to take your lovely dogs out for walks, or perhaps they just need a stretch in your garden. the choice is yours. I have also completed a Canine First Aid course and Canine Body Language. It isn't just dogs I love. I can also look after cats and small animals, such as rabbits. I will visitand feed your pet, keep them company, whilst you are at work or on holiday, just let us know your pets requirements and I will be there!

Heya,
My name is Chloe, I'm 27 and I've recently moved in Nottingham. I love dogs so much, I always have since I was little ! I grew up with mine who's still back home and recently was living with my friends who have a beautiful golden retriever (as you can see in my profile picture hehe). But since they moved, I find myself in dog withdrawal and would love to take care of your little ones and help out !
I am happy to do visits, walks and housesits whenever I'm available. My rota and days off do change quite a bit every week at the moment but I'm free in the evenings after 6. Please do get in touch with me if you require specific dates and I'll try to accommodate :)
I have taken care of my own dog throughout my teen years, and have had my friends's dog over for housesitting many times ! I love to go for long walks and play with my pets to make sure they are engaged and stimulated.
I am looking forward to hearing from anyone who's in need of my services and promise the highest level of care for all your furry friends :)

PS: Please only make an enquiry if you live in Nottingham (city centre or area accessible with the tram/buses) as I don't drive and wouldn't be able to get to you otherwise!

I have loved animals since I was very little, so I decided to do something that involved animals when I grew up!
My parents always used to say I should be a vet, but putting animals to sleep didn't seem right to me! So that's where I have decided this job is just perfect for me, which is why I have chosen to do this as a full-time job.
I have a few years of experience. I started doing this petsitting job now, and I've moved over to Pawshake!
Looking after big dogs in people's homes and my cat and hamster on the side, haha, I hope I hear back from you and we are a good match.
I offer dog sitting, overnight dog walking, and looking after different pets in the comfort of your own home! I will keep you updated with loads of pictures of your fur baby while we are together, so you can rest while you're away and not worry about anything.
I also currently can't accept any pets at my home due to my landlord ️

Throughout my life I have always been around pets, I grew up with my white puddle Brandy, it was my 6th birthday gift, I learned so many responsibilities with him, such as feeding him, taking him for walks and being aware of anything he needed.
I am a student from Venezuela, and becoming a dog sitter in the UK it would be a way for me to express all the affection that I have for Brandy but for distance reasons I cannot give it to him.
I am certain that I can provide a great service! I am a very energetic and cheerful person.
Nothing is more important to me than the relationship between a pet and a human, so when I visit your pet, I will take the time to introduce myself to the pet and make sure it feels at comfortable with me before performing any activities.
My availability would not be a problem because I can adapt to your needs and be there for you when you need me. It can be any time and any day (morning or afternoons).
On my arrival in the UK, I look after a cat for a year in my old house, the responsibilities were the same as with my dog, giving him his food rations, water and being aware of his needs.
Your pet will receive excellent care and entertainment. My full attention will be on your pet at all times, and they will enjoy frequent walks and play sessions. I will keep you informed about how your flurry friend is doing and can send you messages, and photos to let you know everything is well.
Depending on the area where you live, I'll take your dog for a walk to the closest park, where I'll also bring toys to play with him/her.

Hi! I’m currently studying Dance Movement Psychotherapy at the University of Derby, which might sound a bit unusual for pet sitting but it means I’m trained to understand emotions and body language beyond words.
I’ve always been surrounded by animals. I used to have three dogs and two cats, I also have experience caring for rabbits, turtles, ferrets, and parrots (my mum has two!), which has made me comfortable adapting to different temperaments and care needs.
Since moving to the UK, I’ve really missed my pets, which is one of the reasons I’m so drawn to pet sitting. Being around animals brings me comfort, and I genuinely enjoy building trust with them.
In terms of daily care, I tailor everything to your pet. For dogs, I usually offer 30–60 minute walks depending on their energy level, along with playtime and companionship at home. For cats and smaller animals, I focus on maintaining their routine and gentle interaction. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, water intake, cleanliness, and overall wellbeing.
When it comes to behaviour, I approach pets with patience and understanding. If a pet shows signs of anxiety, overexcitement, I focus on creating a safe and predictable environment rather than forcing interaction. I use gentle redirection and calm presence to support them in settling. I respect each animal’s boundaries while also maintaining clear structure.
I am comfortable administering basic medication (such as oral medication if clearly instructed), and I always follow the owner’s guidance carefully. I provide regular updates with photos and messages so you can feel reassured while you’re away. If any unexpected situation arises, I stay calm, observe carefully, and contact you promptly while taking appropriate action to ensure your pet’s safety.
Through my volunteering experience, I’ve developed strong responsibility, patience, and reliability. I only accept vaccinated pets and always maintain a clean, safe, and peaceful environment.
I understand how important your pet is to you, and I will treat them with warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care just like they’re my own.

As a dog owner of 2 chihuahuas (one is 10 and the other is 20) I value the importance of how hard it is to find people that click with them and that it's not a rushed process....like people we all have our levels of being socially comfortable around others so i like to let amimals go at their own pace to become buddies with me.
I've grown up and looked after lots of creatures from Lizards, rats, Chinchillas, scorpians and toads...i was proudly the guinea pig catcher at junior school too
I love all sizes and breeds of dogs but I feel my strength is with smaller dogs and understand the importance of keeping a close eye on them when taking them for walks out and about...the world is a big place for them!

I love taking pictures and giving updates when pet sitting cats and dogs for friends in the past. I enjoy a cuddle with a moggy too and have alot of good energy to share. I'm also a light sleeper so if you needed a house sitter my ears are as keen as a chihuahuas.

Speaking from experience having the reassurance in a pet sitter is something that you never realise you need until it's time to take a trip or spend a long day at work.
Dogs are legends an cats have the magic of calm energy...all creatures are epic! So if you'd like some help and to put your mind at rest let me know how I can help :)

With years of experience in dog daycares, grooming salons, and kennels, I’ve honed my ability to handle animals of all temperaments, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I’ve spent my life surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes, from large and small dog breeds to cats, bearded dragons, tortoises, and guinea pigs. Alongside my practical experience, I’ve completed studies in Animal Science, Management, and Behaviour, giving me a well-rounded understanding of pets’ physical and emotional needs.
Running my own pet care business, KTM Pets, for over a year has further enhanced my hands-on skills and deepened my passion for providing personalised, attentive care. I’m qualified in Pet First Aid and Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Business, and I always stay up to date with the latest advancements in pet care to offer the very best for your furry, scaly, or feathered companions. Your pets will be in expert hands, and I look forward to offering them the same level of care and attention as if they were my own!

Hi! I'm rom Malaysia and I'm currently working in the UK. I grew up with dogs since childhood. Previously had 2 german shepherds, 2 dalmations and currently, we have 5 mongrels. Recently our dogs had a litter of 6 puppies, we took care of them till 3 months old and gave 3 of them away. I have grown to appreciate dogs over time, especially after nurturing our litter of puppies from birth. Seeing them grow up from the size of my palm to the height of my waist, is simply priceless. I have some basic experience in training dogs, managed to train some of my dogs to sit, stay, lie down, stand up, shake hand. I enjoy walking dogs, running them and playing with them. Back in Malaysia, where my dogs are, I would play tug of war and chase with them. We love just about any dog, it's always fun to spend time with them.
My schedule is flexible and can accommodate morning, afternoon and evening visits. As a student, I am always free on the weekends for walks, visit, boarding, etc.
Depending on the dog's personality and needs, I cuddle them, give them attention, or simply leave them alone. If they are the active type, playing toys with them or taking them for a walk is how I would care for them.
The services I provide are Dog Walking, Home visits and House Sitting (where I stay in pet owner's house). My dog walks can range from 30 minutes up to 2 hours depending on your request. During House Sitting I can do as many dog walks as you wish per day. I can supervise pets 24/7, but I trust that you will be reasonable with me leaving the house when necessary.
I do not do Home Dog Boarding or Doggy Daycare due to my flat not being suitable for it.
My services do not grooming.

I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’ve been around a wide variety of pets over the years, so I understand that every animal has their own routine and personality. At home I currently have a pug, a Persian cat and three rabbits, so I’m used to everything from energetic dogs to more relaxed, independent pets.
I’ve recently been travelling for the past six months, and one of the things I’ve missed most is being around animals. Now that I’m back, I’d love to spend time doing something I genuinely enjoy, while giving pet owners peace of mind that their pets are being properly cared for.
I’m calm, reliable, and attentive, and I’ll always treat your pet like they’re my own. For dogs, I’m happy to do 30–60 minute walks depending on their needs, as well as feeding, playtime and keeping them company. For pets at home, I’ll stick closely to their usual routine so they feel as comfortable as possible.
I’m confident looking after multiple pets at once and adjusting to different behaviours, whether that’s a more energetic dog or a quieter, more nervous pet that just needs patience and consistency.
I’ll also send regular updates and photos while you’re away so you can feel reassured everything is going smoothly. I’m happy to care for vaccinated pets and will always prioritise their safety, wellbeing, and happiness. I’m currently available from 25th May to 10th June and can be flexible during this time. I’m also happy to follow specific care instructions, including medication or special diets, and I’ll always stay calm and responsive if anything unexpected comes up.
