Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Hebden Bridge home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Hebden Bridge.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Hebden Bridge home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

We're both lifelong cat lovers, with two of our own: Tucker and Tiki. Bethany is a veterinary nurse and hand reared Tucker from a few days old, after she was found in wet grass, with no mother in sight. We stumbled across Tiki, stuck in a car engine in Crete, and after much perseverance he was extracted and now lives the life of luxury with us. We're both vegan, and have been cat guardians our entire lives. Bethany completed further qualifications specifically in feline behaviour and psychology and rest assured your cat(s) will be cared for to the highest standard, as though they were indeed our own!
We are fully trained in Pet First Aid and CPR, with Bethany completing Continuing Professional Development specifically in Animal CPR.
We can administer both oral and injectable medications, so rest assured your pets won't miss a dose. We can drop in to play, feed, clean trays, refresh water bowls and fountains, administer medicines and we'll be more than happy to update with photos and videos for your peace of mind. To ensure everybody's happy, cats included, we'd be delighted to offer a free of charge meet and greet before making a booking with us. This list isn't exhaustive, so if there's anything else you or your kitties require, please do let us know, we'll be happy to accommodate. We'll adhere to any routines and schedules you have in place, and keep you in the loop throughout. We understand your pets are your world so don't think twice about asking for extra pics!
For visits at your home, we like to stay for at least 30 minutes, to give your pets ample interaction while you're away. We'll follow any and all instructions regarding alarms, open and close the curtains, and keep your key secure. We're also happy to put out the bins, water the plants etc. at no extra cost

With a lifelong passion for dogs and the proud owner of five furry companions throughout my life, I bring a wealth of pet care experience to the table.
No matter the breed, I can ensure your pup receives the care and attention they deserve. Not afraid to get my hands dirty (literally!) I'm well versed in grooming after a muddy adventure.
Plus I have a knack for puppy training after years of attending classes, your dog will be in very good hands! I am CPD accredited in Dog First Aid and Emergency Canine Care until 2028
I've comfortably looked after a variety of sized dogs, including:
Small Breeds - Pugs, Lhasa Apso, Jack Russell / Shih Tzu / Poodle (Cross)
Medium Breeds - Border Collie, American Bulldog, American Bully, Springer & Cocker Spaniels
Large Breeds - Boxers, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Husky, German Shepherd, Labradoodle
My experience in this industry started as a teenager, providing overnight care for neighbours and relatives pets (spanning up to two weeks board on a number of occasions).
I started promoting my dog sitting services properly in 2024 and have since cared for 6 dogs. All of these owners have since rebooked with me, and I have another 3 dogs confirmed this year off the back of it.
I hope my portfolio of fur babies continues to grow from this positive feedback, as I'd love to meet lots of new faces in 2025

Hi, I’m Tanya! I live in Halifax with my husband and our two friendly cats. We’ve both loved animals for as long as we can remember, and caring for them is something we truly enjoy. Our home is calm, safe and pet-friendly, with a secure garden where pets can relax under supervision.
I offer boarding for cats who are comfortable living with other friendly cats, as well as home visits, overnight stays and full-time house sitting in your home. I also welcome small dogs (up to 10 kg) for boarding and home care. Before every booking, I’m happy to arrange a free meet and greet so we can get to know each other and make sure it’s the right fit.
Someone is usually at home, as my husband often works from home, so your pet will receive plenty of company and attention. In rare cases, pets may be left alone for up to 3 hours. I carefully introduce guest cats to my own cats at a pace that suits them, helping them feel safe and relaxed. If needed, your cat can have a quiet space in our living room or kitchen until they feel comfortable.
I have cared for cats all my life, raised three abandoned kittens until they found loving homes, looked after friends’ small dogs during holidays, and regularly care for cats in their own homes while their owners are away. I’m experienced with shy and nervous cats and always take the time to earn their trust. I also enjoy caring for friendly small dogs. I do not accept aggressive pets, as the safety of all animals is my priority.
I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine, including feeding schedules, playtime, grooming if they enjoy it, and giving oral medication. I can also administer injections when caring for pets in their own home. If I’m looking after a dog, walks are tailored to their needs and usually last between 30 and 60 minutes, once or twice a day, depending on your preferences.
If your pet becomes unwell, I’ll contact you immediately. If needed, I’ll take them to the nearest veterinary clinic, which is only about a 20-minute walk from my home.
You’ll receive daily photos and videos, so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, loved and well cared for. I speak both English and Russian, and I’ll treat your pet with the same love, patience and attention that I give my own animals.

I’ve loved dogs all my life, and that love grew even stronger because of my Pomeranian, who lived joyfully with me for ten years before passing away due to health reasons. Losing him was heartbreaking, but it also reminded me how deeply I connect with animals and how much comfort they bring. I truly believe dogs are the best beings on earth, and becoming a pet sitter allows me to stay close to that happiness while supporting owners who want their pets to feel safe and cared for. I have experience looking after dogs for friends and neighbours, helping with walks, feeding, playtime, gentle routines and general daily comfort. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel understood and relaxed. For safety, I only take vaccinated pets into my home. I offer a calm, clean and friendly environment where every dog is welcomed with genuine love and attention.

Hi I'm John, I am family man of 6 children and many grandchildren, we have had pets all our life so far, dogs which are great companions called lucky and Beauty, they were loved and cared for many years ago, love playing and walking and cuddles groomed , also we have had many cats and kittens, also loved and cared for, especially my own cat cheeky, she was a cheeky girl got In to mischief but that was her personality. She got in to trouble with community whom sadly miss treated her abused her, ever fire works attached to her , this created anxiety and depression to her life, she also got knocked over by car had her pelvis rebuilt , thankfully made full recovery with my support she got back on her feet. She has been my friend and companion for over 21 years after passing. She is still with me in my heart. She comes where ever I am. Now we have a two year old cat Harry new in our family.
Every pet deserves the love and attentiveness and a friend. I am happy to come and spend time with your friends too. To help care for your loved ones and support them, sadly I am unable to provide boarding or day care in my home as I'm not licensed as of yet. But I do believe in your pets best interest they are more comfortable in their own home environment.

Quick note: I work part-time, 8-10 hour shifts in Lindley, Huddersfield which prevent me from dog sitting long periods; cat sitting is fine as long as you're happy with me being away from the home for half the day on random days (3-4 days of the week). I don't have a car and only pet sit in areas within an 8 mile cycle radius of Huddersfield. Thanks.Introduction Hello! I'm Chris. I'm relatively new to Pawshake however please don't mistake that for inexperience. I semi often look after my friends' cats and dogs whenever they go on holiday and I love it for mainly two reasons: One, I love hanging out, playing with and caring for my furry friends and Two, it means a lot to me that my friends trust me with their pets. My experience Over the years, I've dog and cat sat for quite a few of my friends. I believe the reason they always ask me is, not only do they trust me but also I've got to know their pets really well through play and being around them for long periods of time. Their pets are comfortable around me and me them. Having a dog growing up definitely helped me understand animals better (my wee Jack Russell, Toffee - I miss him so much! ) alas I do believe I'm naturally good with cats and dogs, regardless. My experience with dogs has ranged from looking after my friend Gail's two tiny Papillon, one very high energy and playful, the other older and more reserved, to my other friend Elisa's huge St. Bernard puppy - very friendly and sweet yet needed a lot of attention and play (and also a bit stubborn, not judging at all!). I have cat sat for my friends, Thomas and Adélie, quite a few times - they have a beautiful British Shorthair, Ravelle. I am privileged enough to have bonded with Ravelle from when he was a kitten with lots of play; I wish I could say cuddles but British Shorthair are not commonly known to be very cuddly! He is wary of most of Thomas and Adélie's friends but will happily sit very close to me when I visit, something my friends are always surprised at. I think it's because we bonded so well during those early years. Why I'm a dog walker / pet sitterThe main motivations for looking after animals is because I have decided to change my career. I'm studying to become a psychotherapist. This is much more suited to who I am as a person — I'm empathetic, caring and, ultimately, I want to help people. As I absolutely adore cats and dogs, to me, it's a no brainer to offer my services in any way I can as I'd be doing something I love and that I'm good at. I feel not only am I doing something I love but I'm helping people, which is a big part of my values and who I am as a person. Knowing your pet (let's face it, your furry child) is in safe and happy is crucial - I believe I have the experience and what it takes to just do that.
