Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Horwich home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Horwich.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Horwich home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello! My name is Vanessa, and I am a dedicated pet lover with five years of experience in dog ownership and pet sitting. My motivation comes from a passion for animals; I find caring for them incredibly fulfilling, as I value the bond and trust built with a pet in my care.
I currently work from home, which means I am almost always available to provide your pet with the optimal attention they deserve. Because my professional life is home-based, your pet will never feel lonely and will fit seamlessly into my daily routine of walks, playtime, and companionship.
Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a spacious two-bedroom flat where pets are welcome on the furniture and in every room. I want them to feel as relaxed as they do in their own home. For outdoor time, I have a large, high-fenced yard and garden that remains securely locked at all times, offering a safe environment for exercise and play without any risk of escape.
As a doctor(although no longer practicing) , I bring a unique level of observation to pet sitting. I am observant to changes in behavior and can spot physical or emotional abnormalities quickly, ensuring your pet is not only happy but healthy. Whether it’s long runs, maintaining hygiene, or just providing a calm presence, I am committed to treating your pet like family
My dogs are back home, very far away and I miss them so dearly so having pets around me really does bring me a form of comfort

Hi! My name is Freya and I have always had a HUGE love for animals and it is my dream to work with them!
DBS checked
I have grown up around animals my whole life, including dogs, cats, hamsters and rats
I currently have 3 gorgeous cats called Pippa, Oliver, and Pumpkin as well as my partners dog I call my own called Monty. As well as in my life having three whippets called Jax, Lucky, and Alfie️ Due to having multiple cats that dont always get along and aren't always friendly, I am confident around animals that aren't big on people!
I am very confident in multi-pet households with growing up in a household with both cats and dogs, and understand that they don't always get on! I will make sure everyone stays happy and comfortable and gets equal amounts of attention!
I am very confident in the care that is required when looking after animals and love to play and give cuddles️️
My services includes overnight stays, and house visits both once and twice a day! While flexible, I'd like to keep my pet sitting visits to a maximum of 10 miles out. My house visits can last between 30-60 minutes, or if necessary, 90 minutes depending on the situation, with overnight stays starting and ending when required. During my visits i will ensure all pets are fed and have access to outside if thats needed, and have maximum cuddles and play. If there are any specific individual requirements i will make sure they are met and ensure all pets are taken care of to the best standard!! I will also send any photos/updates regarding your pets while you are away!
When handling emergencies, unless told about anything specific from you, I will immediately call you or if necessary get emergency help from the vets. If there is any medication required, with full instructions I am sure I will be capable of administering it, as I have some experience in giving dogs pills and cats flea treatment. However if I don't think I will be able to I will refuse, in order to make sure your pets are in the best hands.
I have experience around many different kinds of behaviour, with my own cats each having their own boundaries and personalities. I am able to understand what to and what not to do regarding an animals behaviour in order to ensure they are comfortable. One of my cats hates human interaction and therefore I leave her be unless necessary, my other cat loves to play therefore I make time to play with him, and my other cat doesn't play so much, but LOVES a cuddle, so he gets them all!!
I have spent alot of time over my life with different pets through family and friends. I know a dog who gets very anxious when his mum leaves, but he is soon calmed down with some cuddles, reassurance, and the occasional treat! While I am not equipped with being able to provide any basic training, I can certainly make sure that good behaviour is rewarded as much as possible!!
On any visit and/or overnight stay I will ensure all pets and I follow the routine laid out regarding feeding, water, outside time and if needed walks. As well as the right amount of cuddles and playtime that is required for them!!
I understand just how important it is to know that your fur babies are in safe and experienced hands, and I can guarantee that your pets are in extremely friendly and capable hands with me🩷

Hello! I'm Maia-Maria and I live in Bury, Manchester. I have lived with cats my whole life (21 years as of 2026) until two months ago, when my youngest cat passed away. I miss being with cats a lot so would absolutely love to meet and care for new cats. I have never lived with dogs but I have experience being and playing with them them, including walks. This includes the time I volunteered at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary last summer.I'm able to care for dogs and cats of any age and breed however I have no experience with rabbits or similar animals. I have a small back yard but live near a few lovely parks, woods and reservoirs to make up for it and am willing to look after a cat in my home as well as do overnight stays in your home! I live in a terraced house with my mother and older brother with no other animals so it's quiet and clean.I am a university student studying music so I'm not available all day every day but I can do weekends, holidays, and some mornings and evenings!I can provide visits (including feeding and medication) for up to an hour depending on the day, over-night stays at the owner's home, and walks for an hour plus. I am energetic and physically fit and can do heavy-lifting. I do not have a car but am happy with public transport.I have no allergies or restrictions of any kind so I can play, cuddle and do whatever your pet may require. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi there! As a true cat lover, I know that every cat has a unique personality. Some are outgoing, while others need a little more time and space to feel safe.
Having raised a beloved cat from a young age, my deep connection with cats spans my entire life. This childhood bond taught me how to read their subtle cues, fostering a natural, lifelong understanding of their emotional needs and behaviors.
I specialise in handling shy, timid, or anxious cats. My approach is completely calm, patient, and non-intimidating. I understand cat body language and will never force an interaction. Instead, I let them approach me at their own pace, offering a gentle, reassuring presence that makes them feel secure while you're away.
Whether your furry friend wants to play, needs a quiet companion, or just wants someone to respect their space while keeping them fed and looked after, I’m here to provide the exact care they need!

I’m an Australian animal lover currently living in Manchester for the next two years. I’ve grown up surrounded by pets my entire life and have a Certificate II in Animal Studies, along with five years of experience working in a veterinary clinic as a receptionist and junior vet nurse. Animals have always been at the centre of my world.

Back home, my fur baby Poppy — a 4‑year‑old Chinese Crested cross rescue — is staying with family while I’m abroad. I miss her every day, so spending time with other people’s pets brings me a lot of joy. I’m confident caring for dogs of all sizes, from tiny toy breeds right up to Great Danes, and I’ve also looked after a wide range of animals including cats, rabbits, chickens, sheep, cows, horses, and fish. Plus, I’d love the opportunity to meet and care for animals from all around the world while I’m travelling.

Outside of animal care, I’m a very chill, low‑key person. My friends affectionately call me a “nanna” because I don’t enjoy late nights out — I’m much happier with a cosy evening in, a warm drink, and a furry companion by my side. The one exception is my love of walking, which makes dog‑friendly adventures a perfect fit for me.

Caring for animals is something I’m genuinely passionate about, and I always treat every pet with the same love, patience, and respect I give my own.

Hi! I'm Toni, I'm 28, and like many others here I'm known for my love of animals. I have a lot of personal experience with caring for animals - we've always had animals in our household ever since I was a baby, and I'm often called upon to see to my neighbour's ever-expanding fur family when she's away. I have a ten year old Alsatian named Marshall and three adorable cats called Kevin (6), Keith (6) and Crystal (18). All my fur babies are full of life, energetic and love to keep me on my toes. Caring for them is an absolute blessing and it has encouraged me to start working towards a career in animal care.I'm a full-time support worker, but work alongside my business partner Brian, so we can be completely flexible and will accommodate yours and your pet's needs as much as possible. I'm more than happy to keep you updated and send regular pictures! I know how difficult it can be being away from them!

Hi! I’m Yannis, an IT specialist by day and a passionate cat admirer at heart. While I don’t currently have a cat of my own, I absolutely love them—their quirky personalities, soothing purrs, and that perfect mix of independence and affection just melts me every time. I often help friends cat-sit when they’re away, and it’s genuinely one of my favorite things to do. Whether it’s playing with them, watching their silly antics, or just having a quiet cuddle session, I cherish every moment. One day, I hope to have a cat of my own, but for now, I’m more than happy being the go-to cat aunt in my friend group. And also I’m happy to being a cat sitter as well!

I offer loving, reliable, and attentive care for your feline friend while you’re away.

 What I offer:
 • Excellent treat giver – With your permission, of course!
 • Cuddler extraordinaire – Only if your cat is into that sort of thing
 • Playtime partner – Feather wands, laser pointers, you name it
 • Clean and tidy – Litter boxes scooped, food/water bowls refreshed, no mess left behind
 • Daily updates – Photos and messages so you know your cat is happy and safe

I’m available for cat sitting in Urmston, Stretford or Manchester city centre area.

Whether your cat loves attention or prefers quiet companionship, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Let’s chat and see if I’m the right fit for your furry friend!

Your family member deserves an experienced pet sitter.

I have experience caring for my two cats (one of the cats passed away at 24 years old ). Apart from caring for my pet, I have also cared for my friend's pet in Hong Kong. Our commitment and genuine passion for animals make us reliable and nurturing pet sitters ready to extend the same level of care to your beloved pet.
I have a very flexible schedule, which allows us to take excellent care of your pets. I provide service of home visit of a day and house sitting, please feel free to contact me.
Also, I’m a Jikiden Reiki Practitioner, and Reiki will work on all living things. So, Reiki Treatments for animals is a good idea. Suppose your pet is suffering from anxiety or disease. Please let me know so we can discuss this.
