Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Kirkby home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Kirkby.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Kirkby home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi! I’m a responsible and caring pet sitter and proud pet owner, and I’ve always had a genuine love for animals. Growing up around pets and caring for them in my daily life has given me strong hands-on experience with their behaviour, routines, and individual needs. I understand that every pet is unique and deserves patient, attentive, and reliable care.
I offer dog walking, home visits, and overnight stays in the owner’s home. Dog walks typically last 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the dog’s age, energy level, and specific requirements. During walks, I focus on safety, exercise, and mental stimulation, always adapting to each dog’s pace and comfort.
My home visits include feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, playtime, companionship, and maintaining your pet’s usual routine. Overnight stays include evening and morning care, ensuring your pet feels safe, calm, and not alone throughout the night.
I care for dogs and cats of all temperaments, and I take time to understand each animal’s personality before starting care. However, I do not offer boarding in my own home, as I already have pets, which ensures I can fully focus on caring for your pets in their familiar environment.
I am based in a pet-friendly home environment and I am flexible with scheduling, including regular and occasional bookings depending on availability. My priority is always to provide calm, reliable, and consistent care tailored to each pet’s needs.

Hello pet owners! Being a pet owner myself, I know it can be more than worrying leaving your pet in the hands of someone unfamiliar. This is why I make sure to meet you for a chat for as long as needed, before looking after your little (or perhaps not so little) furry friend. This is to ensure I fulfill all of you and your pet's specific needs to make you feel comfortable and confident leaving your pet in my hands. I have over 10 years working in a veterinary environment. As a veterinary nurse, I am fully confident in giving medications and providing relevant care for pets with all conditions if necessary, I hope this can make you feel at ease with me looking after your little loved ones!I make sure to regularly update owners on their pets such as sending them pictures daily to make sure they know their pet is happy and well. I am extremely passionate about ensuring our pets well being including their exercise and diet requirements.I am able to dog walk (multiple dogs), visit your home daily ( up to 4 times a day) and pet sit at your home while you are away. I am flexible and easy going to suit your needs. I have a full UK driving licence and happy to collect your pet if required.Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! Jade

Hi, I'm Liana! I'm 30 and live in Liverpool with my partner and our two rescue kitties, Nyx and Medea, who we adopted in January 2025.I spent my childhood with my family cats, which led to a lifelong love of cats. I've spent time caring for my friends' and family's cats - sometimes using visiting the humans as an excuse to see the cats! I started working as a professional cat sitter in August 2025, after deciding I wanted to turn my passion into a career. I can't wait to meet your furbabies and become best pals with them!I understand the importance of knowing that your babies are happy and safe while you're away. I promise to treat your cats as I treat my own - with care, respect and love.Every 30-minute visit includes: feeding, litter tray scooping (full changes available on request), playtime, and plenty of strokes and affection. After each visit, you will receive a detailed update, along with pictures and videos.I am fully insured, Pet First Aid trained, and can administer oral medications.

I have been surounded by animals my whole life, Cats, Dogs, Horses and many more.I love working with animals, taking care of them and playing with them.I don't have space to keep any pets in my place, but I can definitely come and visit them at your place once or twice a day. I am an early starter and quite flexible with times and availability. I am happy to follow any instructions and requests you might have. In general I aim to spend some time with your furry friend and play with them if they enjoy that, feed them, cuddle them and make sure everything is clean and tidy.On Dog walks I aim to take them out for about half and hour, so they can have some time to stretch before they go back inside, happy to adjust depending on your dog's needs.Feel free to get in touch even at the last minute I might be able to help!If you are not sure you can always message me and check if I can help you out or not.Nick

Being a dog owner for my whole life I have a love and passion for dogs. I love walking and would love a companion to join me whilst helping someone out who may not be able to do that before going off to university in September. I have just finished my A levels so I am free all day. Every day. I will treat your dog like my own. I have a crazy cocker spaniel at home and grew up with collies and labs so have had my fair share of experience and would consider myself trustworthy around your dog.
When I am in University, I am a volunteer dog walker for people who cannot walk their dogs because of medical issues or age.
As for walking I am happy to take your dog for as short or as long of a walk as you please as I say I am free most days all day and will work my life around your needed dog walks

Hi, I'm Sophie! I’m passionate about animals, and it shows - I practically gravitate toward them! It’s a running joke among my friends that you get no sense out of me the moment a dog is in the room . I love spending time with pets, whether it’s playing, cuddling, or simply being around them.I regularly look after friends’ dogs and have experience with a variety of breeds, personalities, and routines. One of my proudest moments is earning the trust of some of the most reactive dogs - like the adorable dachshund in my pics - which is no small feat!My motivation is simple: I know how much peace of mind it brings to leave your pet with someone you trust. I strive to provide a calm, safe, and friendly environment where your pet feels relaxed, secure, and genuinely cared for.I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, day care, and overnight sitting — all tailored to your pet’s needs. Whether it’s playtime, exercise, or just companionship, I make sure they get the attention they deserve. And of course, I’ll keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can relax knowing your furry friend is happy and cared for

Hi there! I'm El. I'm 29, I have over 10 years experience with cats and Im an experienced, 5* professional cat sitter (new to pawshake!).
I provide the same TLC to your furbabies as though they're my very own. They're treated like family! My care is cat-led, and my visits are shaped around your cat's needs and personality.
For the playful babies, I am a great bird/mouse imitator! For the shy kitties, I'll be especially aware of taking it at their pace; I always respect their boundaries and work to create a trusting relationship with them.
I have experience with various behaviours, personalities, and health conditions- I am feline first aid trained & can administer oral and topical medication.
I'll work with you to ensure that your furbaby is as happy as can be whilst youre not there, and will keep you updated eith detailed reports, photos, and videos, so that you can focus on enjoing your time away ️

Hi! My name is Rudi, and I'm currently living in Liverpool while studying to become a vet.
My life has always revolved around animals, and I have a sincere love for pet sitting. I am aware of how crucial it is for pets to feel secure, at ease, and well-cared for while their owners are away.
Since I was young, I have had a lot of experience with animals. I have owned pets of my own and have frequently provided pet care for family members, taking care of dogs, cats, and small animals with a range of needs, routines, and temperaments. I also worked as a vet nurse for a year in a clinic before starting uni, which gave me invaluable practical experience in animal handling, health monitoring, hygiene, and client communication.
I want to give owners confidence and peace of mind that their pets are in safe, knowledgeable hands.
Being at uni, I don't really have many opportunities to be around pets day to day (on the non vet side of things!), so pet sitting allows me to spend time with animals while providing them with attentive, high-quality care.
