Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Loxley home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Loxley.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Loxley home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I've always loved animals. We had cats, dogs, hamsters and horses growing up so they were a big part of my life. Now I have two toddlers (who are fairly like little animals some of the time ) and two cats which keeps me busy but we really miss having a pup.
I've been dog walking and pet sitting since 2021 and have a lot of experience with different breeds, reactive dogs and puppies. We usually go for hour long walks and I'll make sure pups are dried off and happy before I leave them. We're so lucky to live in Sheffield with so many beautiful places to walk, if it's warm weather I'll stick to shady woodlands. I also listen to any advice from owners as to where their dog likes to go the best. Unless specifically requested all walks are done on the lead to keep your dog safe. I've also had the pleasure of looking after cats in their home quite a lot which I love doing. This can be for a few visits over the time required or I also do house stays with pets.
When I care for an animal I ensure is tailored specifically to that pet, they are a huge part of a family and it's important that you feel heard as their owner. When I look after puppies I am calm and ensure I follow the training disciplines you are using. I will be calm with any animal I am lucky to look after, waiting for them to come to me and building up the relationship up without rushing it.
As mentioned I have two toddlers so I started dog walking and pet sitting as it gives me flexibility to be with the boys as much as possible. My partner is also a dog walker so we can rely on each other to look after the kids during our different jobs which means I can be available last minute if required.
I have an advanced DBS (previous teaching assistant) and I am doggie first aid training. I'm also fully insured.
I will of course come and introduce myself in a meet and greet before anything is decided so please consider me for the next time you need help with your fur family members

Hi! I’m Luna, a caring, responsible and animal-loving pet sitter who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved.
I’ve always had a strong connection with animals. I grew up caring for two German Shepherds, who I had from when they were puppies until I moved abroad. Looking after them from such a young age taught me a lot about patience, routines, exercise, feeding and understanding each dog’s individual personality.
Since moving to the UK, I’ve also had experience caring for three cats who lived in my landlord’s home. I regularly looked after them, including feeding them, spending time with them, keeping them company and making sure they were comfortable and happy. I currently have a canary at home, so I’m also comfortable caring for smaller pets and understand the importance of keeping their environment clean, calm and safe.
I’m happy to offer dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, companionship and general pet care. I’m also happy to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding instructions and medication if appropriate and clearly explained.
I’m a calm, patient and reliable person, and I understand that every pet is different. My priority is always to make your pet feel secure and cared for while you’re away.
I’m available during my free time and would be happy to discuss your pet’s individual needs before booking.

Hi! I’m a Sheffield-based pet sitter with a soft spot for small animals and cats. I absolutely love looking after rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, rats as well as cats who prefer staying comfortable in their own home while you’re away.
I know small pets need more than just food and water. They need gentle handling, clean spaces, attention to their routines and someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with them. Whether it’s refreshing hay, cleaning out enclosures, giving medication or just hanging out with a shy bunny until they warm up, I’m happy to help.
I genuinely love animals and know how stressful it can feel leaving them with someone new. I want owners to feel relaxed knowing their pets are being properly cared for and getting plenty of attention, cuddles and company while they’re away. I’ll always keep you updated with messages and photos too.
I have previous experience caring for cats and small pets with different needs and personalities, and I’m happy to follow detailed instructions to make sure your pets stay happy and comfortable in their usual routine.

My love for animals runs deep. I have spent time working closely with all kinds of creatures, including valuable hands-on experience volunteering on a farm. This background taught me how to read animal behaviour, handle high-energy situations, and ensure that every animal under my care feels safe, calm, and happy. For me, this is not just a job—it is a true passion.Combined with my love for animals is my absolute love for walking. Rain or shine, I am at my happiest exploring the outdoors on foot. Your dog will never get a rushed, boring bathroom break with me. Instead, they get an enthusiastic partner who genuinely loves hitting the pavement, exploring new trails, and keeping a brisk, healthy pace. As a young, fit, and active walker, I am available anytime to give your pup the ultimate outdoor exercise they need. Get in touch with me today to book!I have finished my A Levels so I have a lot off time free, I love to walk so if your dog is very energetic I can handle that, I like to run as well so if that is required let me know. I just want to earn a bit of extra cash doing what I love. Dogs are just the sweetest things and I know the best walking routes so no need for you to stress just message me. ️

Hi! My name is Violet and i would love to look after your pets! I am offering dog walks, pet sitting/ house sitting and drop in animal care- basically anything you need at your home :) I own two very adorable cats and two very cute bunny rabbits. I love spending time with them more than i can describe but being at university means I don't get to see them every day :( so i would love to spend time with yours! my closest friends also own dogs who I have looked after on many an occasion and I have volunteered for 2 years at hackney city farm looking after all of the animals from mini chickens to rabbits to goats so i have a good range of skills when it comes to animal care- especially thanks to my cats who i've had for over 11 years. I am a very reliable pet sitter and will ensure that your pets not only recieve the necessary care but I also ensure I sit with them and play with them for plenty of time. I have been the go-to pet sitter in my local area! My neighbours ask me to look after their cats and dogs on a regular basis and one even hired me to feed his many birds for a month!

Hi I'm Susie a 35-year-old mum and cat lover from Sheffield. I have always loved cats even before I adopted my first cat from Sheffield cat Shelter when I was 7. Over the years I've had a lot of experience with all types of cats. I have adopted semi-feral shy cats and built up trust, taken in an incredibly friendly elderly lap cat who I took care of in his later years and nursed through ill health until he crossed the rainbow bridge. I have also had energetic young cats who need a lot of enrichment. I am always thinking of ways to make their lives more exciting. I have experience with pregnant cats and kittens from newborn. While you are away I can give you regular updates. I communicate effectively and clearly, I can provide video and photo updates to put your mind at ease. I will treat your home with the utmost respect and care and give your cat the love that I give all cats. If necessary I can administer medicine, change the litter tray, groom your cat, spend time with them so they are not lonely- whether through playing with them or cuddling them or both. I absolutely adore cats and this will come through in the way that I treat your cat- feeding your cat is not just a tick box exercise to be rushed, it is something that I truly enjoy and a privilege.

I am currently a healthcare student and a part-time professional pet sitter with 5 years of experience. I grew up with my dog Juke. Looking back, I treasured every minute we spent together. Ever since he passed away, we have not owned another pet. But I've always missed the companionship and responsibility that came with being a pet owner.
I believe pet sitting is so much more than just keeping your pets company when owners are away; it's about creating a comfortable, safe environment that makes them feel assured. My professional pet-sitting experience has taught me that, regardless of your experience as an owner, creating this environment requires taking the time to observe and interact with the pets to build a strong, trusting bond. As a soon-to-qualify healthcare provider, I am confident to say I am equipped with patience, attentiveness to small details, and other skill sets to achieve this for each pet's individual needs. I am dedicated to making pet owners and their pets feel reassured so that you can concentrate on holidays, work trips, or unexpected events.
I prefer to arrange a meeting prior to drop-off or house-sitting to make sure there is no confusion.
My home details:
I live in a semi-detached house with my parents, who are also animal lovers, and a fenced garden. The neighbourhood is a safe and secure area, with many dog-friendly places nearby, including Forge Dam, Spider Park, Redmires reservoirs & other terrains, suitable for active dogs that require lots of exercise or senior dogs that prefer a slow walk.
Feel free to ask me any questions.

Hi and thank you for viewing my profile!
I currently run my own Tree Surgery business but working with dogs is something I have wanted to do for many years and I am now finally taking the steps to make this happen!
Even though I am just starting out my dog care business life I do have previous experience with all dog sizes from small to giant breeds.
I do not judge based on breed or behaviour issues and I am happy to care for all dogs and their individual needs.
Been an owner of a reactive dog myself I understand the difficulties that you can face and I have learnt to read dog body language well, doing much research and learning into this subject so I am able to spot triggers early and improvise as needed to keep your dog happy and safe.
Our walks will also be structured different and wouldn't just be a boring walk around the field but would include basic training, sniffing games, play time and mental stimulation to gauntee a happy, content and tired pooch!
Our group walks would be limited to no more then 4 dogs per walk to garuntee time, affection and enrichment is met equally.
During house visits and house sittings the same care would be given as on walks. It wouldn't just be in & out for toilet breaks but basic training (including play time) would be part of the service and making your dog happy would be number 1 priority.
Walks will be trackable and full DBS will be available to view.
I shall be covering Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley for 30 or 60 minute walks, house visits for toilet breaks & training and house sitting as required.
Thanks
Adam

I have owned dogs all my life, and currently have the cutest 6 year old English springer spaniel called Alfie who we have had since a puppy. He is very energetic and loves long walks, but will love just as much to come and cuddle with you. Growing up, I had a black Labrador, which is where my love for dogs began.

I have lots of experience with all sizes of dogs as well as different ages and different energy levels.
I am great with energetic young dogs as well as laid back sleepy dogs.
I love taking energetic dogs to new places to explore but also chilling out with laidback sleepy dogs who just like a short stroll.
I am here to make sure your furry friends needs are fully met and I will ensure to make them feel extra loved while you are away!

Along with this, I am happy to care for multiple pet households such as multiple dogs or a mix of dogs & cats! Please let me know if there is any extra care needed such as ensuring dogs & cats are kept separate etc.

I am always open to any extra types of care needed such as medication or extra attention, given instructions.

I appreciate you entrusting me with your fur babies so will always treat them as my own, as well as treating your home with respect, leaving it identical to how it was found, with a cared for and happy pet left waiting for you to return!

I am currently a student studying physics at the university of Sheffield.
I have a fairly flexible schedule and can fit in multiple visits a day as well as staying overnight

However being a student, I will not be able to stay in your home full time on weekdays & will need to go out to my lectures at various times - please message me for more info!
