Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Macclesfield home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Macclesfield.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Macclesfield home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

My whole life, I have always loved and cared for animals, both my own and other people's (including dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, ferrets and many others). Nothing means more to me than the happiness and health of our beloved animals. I understand that they mean the world to us and want to make sure everyone feels reassured that they will be left in safe hands!
It is always important to be calm and patient with any animal and I feel that most animals have always warmed up to me instantly.
I will provide your pets with lots of attention and enrichment to keep them entertained. Please let me know if they have a favourite toy/treat as I want them to feel as comfortable and at home as possible.
I have many years of experience working in veterinary, so I do have basic knowledge of animal health, which may also help give any owners with animals that need extra care the peace of mind.
I have plenty of time at the moment to take care of your animals so please get in touch and let me know all about them!
If they like to go for walks to particular places, please let me know as I want them to be as comfortable as possible and familiar surroundings are always a plus :)

Hi, I'm Lizzy! I've been housesitting since 2020 - I housesat for a friend's gentle and playful cat for 2 weeks, and I've been hooked ever since! Looking after cats, dogs and chickens in multiple countries as well as around the UK has been an absolutely wonderful experience - reviews from external sites available on request. I'm absolutely a cat lady at heart but have a real soft spot for rabbits and guinea pigs.I grew up with guinea pigs and walking friends' dogs, and owned house rabbits in the past - very fun and rewarding pets! As well as the last few years of housesitting my experience includes volunteering at a small wildlife rescue and on small farms in Norway & Finland.
My priority is always the pets and home in my care, and I'll do everything I can to keep your pets happy and house safe. I totally understand nervousness or worry about leaving your pet & home in the hands of a sitter, so I ask plenty of questions upfront to make sure everything is completely clear and I have all the details I need to follow your routines and keep the home secure. I love to take photos of pets so I always make sure to send these at each visit or a couple of times per day on overnight sits (or as requested by the owner).
I only do housesitting in a client's home, and am unable to board pets in my home.

I may not have professional experience in dog sitting or walking yet, but I have had animals around me since I was born and I absolutely adore dogs and cats. I love animals and would treat your pets as if they were my own, always making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I am fun, energetic, and love spending time playing with pets, taking dogs on walks, and giving animals lots of attention and affection.

I grew up with dogs and now have cats at my mum’s house, my boyfriend’s house, and my dad’s house, so I am very used to being around different animals and personalities. I understand that every pet is different, and I adapt my care depending on their age, temperament, and needs. For example, I would be patient and calm with nervous or shy pets, while more energetic pets would get lots of playtime and exercise. I can do 30–60 minute walks depending on the dog and their routine.

I am currently self-employed part-time as a hairdresser and am looking for something extra alongside it, and because I genuinely love animals and meeting new pets, this feels like the perfect role for me. I am confident handling pets and staying calm if situations become stressful or out of hand. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding routines, treats, medication if needed, and any special care requirements.

I will keep owners updated with regular messages and photos so they always feel reassured. I stay calm and patient when dealing with behavioural changes such as nervousness, anxiety, or over-excitement, and I adapt my care to help pets feel safe and comfortable. In any emergency, I would contact the owner immediately and make sure the pet gets the care they need as quickly as possible.

I am free on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays all day. I will keep the animals on the leads to keep them safe during walks, I will make sure they are fed and worn out and have had enough exercise.

Hi all!
Me and my partner Chloe have a small dog walking and sitting business called Tails N Trails. We started this because we’re both huge animal lovers and wanted to provide a reliable, friendly service for our local community here in Stockport.
We know your dogs are family, and we treat them that way, whether they’re big, small, shy, or full of energy.
DBS Checked | Fully Insured | First Aid Trained Dog Walks | Drop-Ins | Pet Sitting Stockport, Hazel Grove & Surrounding Areas
We have plenty of experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Whether your pup is a high-energy walker who loves a long trek through the local trails or a shy senior who just needs a gentle leg-stretch and a bit of company, we’re happy to help.
We have two of our own crazy cocker spaniels, who love big walks and keep us on our toes!
Feel free to send us a message if you have any questions or want to get something booked in!
