Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Rhoose home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Rhoose.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Rhoose home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi! I’m Giulia, and I’ve been caring for cats for over five years. I also have my own black cat back home in Italy, she’s been with me since 2013 , so I’m very familiar with feline routines, personalities, and the little quirks that make each cat unique. I genuinely love spending time with animals, especially cats, and I always aim to make them feel safe, relaxed, and understood while their owners are away.

Although most of my experience (around 90%) is with cats, I’ve also looked after small animals such as rabbits and parrots. I’m attentive to each species’ specific needs, from feeding routines to enrichment, cleaning, and any medical or behavioural instructions you provide.

During each visit, I make sure your pet has fresh food and water, a clean environment, playtime if they enjoy it, and plenty of affection (always respecting their boundaries). I’m reliable, organised, and happy to send updates, photos, and videos so you can feel reassured while you’re away.

Your pet will be treated with care, respect, and genuine affection.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up surrounded by pets, including rabbits, cats, fish, and now I have a wonderful dog of my own. Caring for animals genuinely brings me so much happiness, and I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, kindness, and plenty of love and attention.
I’m fully insured for both pet sitting and dog walking, and I’m happy to provide proof of insurance if requested. I already have experience walking and pet sitting through this app, as well as caring for pets outside of it, giving me confidence in looking after a variety of personalities and routines.
As an Open University student, I have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to offer dog walking, daytime pet sitting, overnight stays, and regular visits throughout the week.
Every pet is different, so I always take the time to follow your instructions carefully. Whether your pet has medication, allergies, specific feeding routines, favourite walking routes, or simply enjoys extra cuddles and playtime, I’ll make sure they receive the care they’re used to.
I’m happy to care for nervous, shy, or reactive pets. I always work at their pace, use calm and positive handling, avoid stressful situations where possible, and never force interactions. Building trust is always my priority.
Safety is extremely important to me. During walks I use secure leads and harnesses provided by owners, avoid unsafe or overcrowded areas if needed, check gates are securely closed, and always keep your pet’s wellbeing as my first priority. Walks are usually around an hour but can be longer or shorter depending on your dog’s age, energy level, health, and your preferences.
During house sitting, I aim to keep pets company as much as possible and only leave them alone when absolutely necessary. If I do need to go out, I’ll always discuss this with you beforehand and make sure it fits within your pet’s normal routine.
Communication is important, so I’ll send regular photo and video updates to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I can update you as often as you’d like, whether that’s every hour or just once or twice a day.
I understand how much pets mean to their families, and I know trusting someone with them is a big decision. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, safe, and cared for from the moment we meet. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member and give them the love, attention, and care they deserve.

Hey neighbors! I'm a private nanny and dog walker/sitter. I love all animals, and have had many cats and dogs of my own, too! Growing up we had guinea pigs, cats, and big dogs. I loved them all!I'm proud to give you peace of mind while you're away from home, so you can be assured that your dog (or other critter) is relaxed, exercised, well-fed and happy.I will visit your home and take your pup for a walk, feed them, play with them and make sure they're generally doing aright while you're gone. I can even simply sit with nervous pets so that they have some company. If your dog is training (sit, heel, etc.) let me know and I can practice with them, too.I can also water plants, refresh litter trays, refill water for all pets, etc.!My nanny family will tell you that I'm reliable and hard working. For reference contact please get in touch.

**PLEASE NOTE SERVING CANTON/PONTCANNA AREA ONLY. Several years experience of working with animals. Have dog sat twice through this website, and have house sat several times previous to this. Lots of experience walking dogs and have owned dogs growing up too. I love looking after other peoples animals as I do not currently own any of my own. I cannot offer dog boarding at my house as a service. However I can house sit. Owned a border collie growing up and a French bulldog as an adult. Have also helped friends look after pets. Can work with animals of all different breeds and of all different sizes. Dogs and cats are where I have most of my experience. My motivation for joining pawshake is partly due to the fact that I love animals and partly as I've just moved back to Cardiff and am in between work at the moment and am living at home with my mum. Would be nice to get a break from it every so often and pet sitting feels like the perfect gig to help someone in need, make a little bit of money, spend some time with some lovely animals and have a little break for my self too! Thanks for reading. Look forward to speaking with you more soon and hope that I can be of service to you. All the best. Eden Nia Griffiths

I’ve had experience caring for animals for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I naturally became the go-to pet sitter for friends and family, and even now I’m usually the housemate people call when they need someone reliable to care for their pets while they’re away. This usually looks like keeping up with feeding/ filling up water bowls, routine walks, and playtime:).

During the pandemic, I fostered kittens as young as two weeks old, helping them with potty training, socialisation and at times medication administration! That experience taught me a huge amount about patience, attentiveness and individual care animals need to feel safe and comfortable.

Back home, I have both a dog and a cat who I miss dearly, so having the opportunity to care for your pets would genuinely be an honour. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your animals, and I’ll always treat them with the same care, love, and attention I’d want for my own pets.

Hey there! I’m Navpreet, an 18 year old student, and I’m here to offer your pet a calm, loving, and safe space while you’re away. I believe that pets thrive in quiet, cozy environments—so I provide gentle care, with a focus on allowing your pet to feel at ease in their own time. I’m an Akita Inu enthusiast with plenty of experience caring for family pets, and I’ve created a space where animals can just be—whether that’s lounging together, getting a head pat, or simply enjoying each other’s presence.
I offer:

Flexible, reliable pet sitting (including overnight stays!)
Personalised, gentle care tailored to your pet’s needs (no loud noises or sudden movements)
Walks for smaller dogs (especially ones that don’t have dander!)
Playtime, cuddles, and chill vibes—I’m all about keeping things cozy and relaxed
Plant watering and light cleaning while I’m housesitting (bonus!)

I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets, which is why I prioritise safety, comfort, and a peaceful presence. Your furry friends will feel right at home with me, whether we’re bonding over some quiet time or a playful walk.
I can only offer petsitting for cats and low-dander dogs as I'm allergic to dog dander. But I grew up with a Japanese Akita (who is featured A LOT on my profile) who's hypoallergenic
