Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Smallfield home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Smallfield.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Smallfield home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

..and, apart of loving animals 24/7, I'm a professional (an engineer), lucky enough to work remotely. I decided to combine flexibility at work with passion for taking care of pets. Could there be anything better than this? :)
I'm a very responsible and tidy person. I have my own flat, so I know how important is to take care of the property and how great it is, when others respect it as well.
I can promise, that I absolutely love animals and you can be assured I will take care of your pet as of my own :). All I need to know is, what they usually like to do, what's their routine, dietary requirements etc.
I have experience taking care of various animals, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, llamas and alpacas :)) . My parents used to have goats, and small African pigs which I can certainly add to my experience list! Currently, I cannot have a pet on my own and I'm dying to take care of some. So please, don't hesitate to contact me!
If that's of any help, apart of English, I speak fluently Spanish and Polish. I am also great at taking care of the plants.
I might ask you sometimes to have my partner with me, for the overnight stays.

I have owned cats all my life. I currently have four fur babies.
I am a fully insured pet sitter with 17 years of experience.I have fostered cats for 23 years for local rescues, undertaking numerous courses regarding animal welfare, etc., looking after a variety of cats, including hand-rearing kittens.
I am recently retired, so I can spend quality time with your cats. No hurrying in and out. whether shy, outgoing or on meds. I give them time and space to bond with me at their pace.Food and litter trays, and water bowls, are kept spotless, all washed at each visit too. I watch and ensure they are eating.
Cuddles and play, too, are so important, so they do not miss their humans too much.
I also bring enrichment toys with me. I interact with your cat on every visit.
I chat away to them too. Give them cuddles, sit down alongside them, and offer lap time.
I give treats with the owner's permission. in an emergency i would not hesitate and will transport your cat direct to their own vet immediately and stayover with cat if needed. Having worked in a school, I am also police-checked. I also water plants. Bring in Mail. Put out bins, etc., so your home looks lived-in. I respect your property and ensure security is maintained at all times.I have the time and enjoy spending quality time with all cats. every cat is an individual and I treat them as such.

-DBS checked.
-Fully insured.
- Trained in pet first aid.
- Experience working in a cattery caring for a variety of cats with lots of different personalities.

I currently have two cats. One is 15 called Ninja and the other is only 9 months old and called Ron.
I have had Ninja most of my life so I have constantly been around cats and they quickly have taken a hold of my heart. I recently rescued Ron and he has turned out to be very crazy! But lovely nonetheless. They are both my babies and I will do anything for them to ensure they have the best care and life, and I will aim and ensure to do the same for the short time I would be with your lovely pets.
I personally love being around all animals any time that I can as I find they have very loving hearts and provide lovely company.

Hi, I love animals and would love to look after your little furry friend when you are not around. Dog boarding - I tend to take dogs for long nice walks in woods in Whyteleafe. They love it.
I have 2 young cats.
I am very flexible, down to earth, easy going, responsible person.
I have quite diverse background in wildlife volunteering abroad. I used to work with tigers, elephants, sharks, dolphins, crocodiles, koala bears, parrots, emu's, snakes and phytons.
When I came back from my travels, the last 3 years I have fostered few cats and adopted one that was not given more than one month to survive. She has not only survived (liver disease and anemia), but got much better and now she has been with me for the last 3 years.
Please drop me a message even if you need last minute booking. I will spend at least 30 min with your cat or dog during my visits.
I would love to get to know your cat or dog and I promise I would look after it as my own.
Thank you

Hello there! I'm Jojo, an experienced, fully insured pet and house sitter with over 10 five-star reviews from previous sits on THS. Animals have always been a grounding, joyful presence in my life, and caring for them feels very natural to me (especially as I had my own pooch for 14 years!) and I genuinely love building trust with each pet, making sure they feel safe, calm, and loved while their owners are away.My background includes house sitting, pet companionship, medication administration when needed, dog walking, and maintaining a home responsibly while owners travel. I’m DBS checked, highly respectful of people’s spaces, and known for being reliable, attentive, and communicative.Beyond practical care, I bring a calm and patient energy - something many pet owners have commented their animals respond well to. I’m also a holistic wellbeing practitioner and creative professional, so presence, empathy, and responsibility are values I naturally bring into my work.My motivation is simple: I enjoy supporting both pets and their humans. Knowing you can travel or focus on life while your pets are happy and cared for gives real peace of mind — and being able to provide that is something I truly value!

Hello everyone,I am Zsuzsi, 23, I moved to Reigate recently and to fill out my free time wisely I would love to accompany your four legged friends when you can't be there for them.I always dreamt about having a dog as a kid and I can say I was lucky to have one when I was around 14. I still have her, a real love package, unfortunately due to my move she had to stay with my family for now.I had her as a baby and I put a lot of effort in training her so if you'd like to have some help in that field, I also can help with that.I'd love to take your dog for a nice walk, or just play with them, take care of them while you can't.Feel free to reach out to me, and plan a get to know meet up, and discuss how can I help you:)I am mostly available in Reigate or in the area, my availability may vary in accordance with my work schedule. If we find we're suitable for eachother I'm happy to schedule regular walks just as well only occasional ones. I can stay for one (or if is necessary for a few) nights in your home, looking after your pets, or just popping in to feed them/playing with them!

Hello there,
We are a warm friendly couple who love being around animals. We miss animals in our lives and house sitting helps us to reconnect with them and realign with the unconditional love that they give us.
As a couple, we have 2 years of housesitting experience with dogs including disabled dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and fish.
Our longest stay was a month. (We were registered on another website)
Previously Christian used to have his own dog and also looked after his friend's animals while they were away.
Marta used to have cats and also spent holidays at her grandparents' farm and has been around animals since childhood.
Over the past year we have both become intuitive life coaches but we are still currently working in our previous employment role as we go though a transitional period.
Christian is a musician and electrician.
Marta supports a small property management company with admin work and mostly works from home and her laptop.
Marta is also a healer and that helps animals to feel comfortable around her, she uses Reiki to support animals when necessary.
We treat your animals as if our own.
We spend a lot of time with them being at home and taking them for long walks. We both love nature and long walks.
We can admit medicine to them, and take them to vet visits if required.
We will look after your home, garden and plants and make sure that all is clean and tidy upon your arrival.

Hi!
I have been working as a vet receptionist since 2023 and it is the most rewarding job I have had. Daily contact with pets makes work feel enjoyable and I want to spend time looking after pets outside of my work hours too. I became a professional pet sitter with Very Important Pets around the same time I started my job at the vets and have been doing cat feeding visits, live-in cat and dog sits with many repeat clients. I am hoping that I can make these pet sits more regular by creating a profile on Pawshake.
I completed first-aid training and have working knowledge of emergency triaging for cats and dogs, as well as procedural knowledge about vet practices and medications. I am also aspiring to become a vet when the time is right, so I have a keen interest in small animal pathology and am trying to pick up as much as I can on the job.
Animals are my passion and I will treat your pets as I would my own dogs, who are my life.
I am quite flexible on Wednesdays and weekends in or around Croydon. If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out!Looking forward to meeting you and your furbabies x

Hi! I’m Andreas, a passionate and reliable pet lover excited to care for your furry family members. Growing up with pets and having a sister who is a veterinarian has given me a strong understanding of animal health, behavior, and wellbeing. This background helps me provide attentive, informed, and loving care tailored to each pet’s unique needs.I have experience looking after dogs, cats, and small animals, and I know how important it is to keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable while their owners are away. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, playtime, or simply offering companionship and affection, I’m committed to making your pet’s day as joyful as possible.I pride myself on being responsible, trustworthy, and flexible with schedules. I always maintain clear communication with pet owners, providing updates and peace of mind. Your pet’s happiness and safety are my top priorities, and I would love the opportunity to become a trusted sitter and friend to your beloved pets.Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friends soon!

I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life and feel incredibly lucky to have turned my lifelong passion into my profession. I was born into a family who ran a dog training, breeding, and hotel business in Lithuania, so caring for dogs comes naturally to me. With over 23 years of experience in training and 15 years as a professional show handler, I bring not just skills, but genuine love and dedication to every dog I meet.

My approach is kind, patient, and tailored to each dog’s unique needs. I use positive reinforcement and clicker training, and always adapt my techniques to suit different personalities and breeds. I know how important it is to find someone you can fully trust with your beloved pet, and I’m committed to creating a calm, safe, and happy environment.

I look after small and medium-sized dogs and only care for one dog at a time, so your dog will always have my full attention. My home is a flat with a secure balcony, just a short walk to a big park, perfect for fun and relaxing walks. I also have my own car, so I can easily take dogs out for adventures or reach a vet quickly if ever needed. Our home is warm and family-friendly, and my 22-month-old baby is already used to having dogs around, making it a calm, welcoming space for your pet.

I’m comfortable giving medication, handling special diets, and caring for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to seniors who need extra care. All walks are done individually to make sure your dog gets one-on-one time and lots of love. I prefer vaccinated pets and am always happy to answer any questions you may have.

If you’re looking for someone who will treat your dog like family, I’d love to hear from you and welcome your furry friend into my home.
