Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Soham home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Soham.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Soham home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

When I was 5 years old, I moved to Uganda where we were given 12 dogs to look after. Over the course of 4 years, they had puppies which as a young kid, I was very excited to raise. The dogs were mainly all German Shepherds. Once we moved back to England, we got a Staffie Cross who quickly became part of the family. I loved taking her for walks and keeping her entertained - she was a bundle of energy. I then moved onto to living with another Staffie and a lurcher, the lurcher being an old boy and needed lots of looking after. I have since looked after my extended family's cocker spaniel and cocker poodle by taking them for walks and house sitting for them. So in short, I have spent a lot of my life around dogs, I love the walking, playing and hanging out with them. I also absolutely adore cats as well and I am very comfortable with looking after them as well. I have been Pet Sitting since October last year and have lifelong experience with animals! I like to take long walks so I am very happy to take your dogs along as well. I can usually go for about 40 - 60 minutes (or however long you would like really!). Furthermore, I am also equally enthusiastic about sitting indoors looking after cats. I can change litter trays, take care of feeding, play with them and become friends. I am also more than happy to house sit and can take care of household tasks like taking bins out and cleaning as well as looking after pets. If oral medication is needed then I can administer that as well for cats and dogs. I want to be a pet sitter because I care very deeply for animals and their welfare. I love looking after them and understand how precious they are to their owners. I believe that animals are to be respected and treated with love and kindness.

Hi! I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with an indoor cat at my parents home, and every summer I spent time at my grandparents farm, surrounded by dogs, cats, chickens, cows, and pigs. Since moving out, I've almost always lived with pets belonging to housemates, and for the past five years I've regularly looked after friends' pets while they're away—it's actually them who encouraged me to do this! (I currently live with two lovely dogs)I'm based around St Neots/Cambridge, where I offer dog/cat walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I'm also happy to provide house sitting in London, as long as it's a 24-hour (or longer) stay.Dog walks (or even runs!) are usually 30–60 minutes, depending on your dog's age, energy level, and routine. During visits, I'll make sure your pet is fed, has fresh water, gets plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and maybe even a brush if they enjoy it! I'm also happy to give oral medication if clear instructions are provided.Every pet has their own personality, and I'm happy to adapt to their needs. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or anxious, I'll be patient, let them set the pace, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. In an emergency, I'll contact you straight away, follow your instructions, and take your pet to your preferred vet if needed.I'm very flexible and available most of the time. I'll always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in safe hands. I treat every pet as if they were my own, and I'd love the opportunity to care for yours!

Hello, I'm a very responsible, energetic, and organized person! I love animals, especially dogs, and I'd be happy to help whenever you need it I can help you with any pet. I love caring for animals while the family travels, but I also work with short walks.
I have references if you need them, as I've been doing this for over four years, so I have plenty of experience.
I had four dogs before moving to England, and this is how I cope with missing them. I'd love to walk them, board them, feed them, or even bathe them if necessary.
Your pet will be great with me, and I'll be even better with them. They'll be filled with love, affection, and attention. Please note that prices may vary depending on your pet's size or the length of the stay. If you have any special requests, don't hesitate to ask, and I'll always do my best to help.
I am free 24 hours a day, that's my job. I love pets, so l always have a friend to take care of and give love to.
I take the pets for regular walks to burn off their energy. I'm always home so they won't have to be alone. I administer medication and bathe them if requested. I send photos regularly to most owners to help with how much they miss their pets.
I look forward to hearing from you.
With love
Mary x

I've been surrounded by animals my whole life. Over the years I've shared my home with three dogs, two cats, three hamsters, and a rabbit, so caring for pets isn't a side interest for me, it's simply how I've always lived. Honestly, I can't walk past a dog or cat without stopping to say hello.
That love for animals has taken me beyond my own home, too. When I lived in Singapore, I volunteered as a cat carer at Nanyang Technological University, and I looked after the community cats in my neighbourhood, feeding them, checking in on them, and making sure they were safe and well. I understand that every animal is different. Some want to play the moment you walk in, while others need patience, a quiet voice, and a bit of time to trust you. I'm comfortable with both.
I'm currently self-employed with a flexible schedule, which means I can genuinely work around your pet's routine, whether that's a midday drop-in, an evening feed, a good long walk, or staying overnight so your home and your companion aren't left alone. I'd look after them exactly the way I'd want my own to be cared for, with attention, affection, and reliability.
Since my own cats passed away, I've really missed having animal company, and my current situation doesn't allow me to keep pets at home. Pet sitting is a way for me to bring that companionship back into my days while helping you feel at ease when you can't be there. When you're away, you shouldn't have to worry. You'll get someone who actually loves the time spent with your pet, and who'll keep you updated so you know they're happy and safe.
I know exactly how it feels to worry from afar. I was once away for three weeks and heard nothing from the person looking after my pets, no messages, no photos, no reassurance. I couldn't relax the entire time. That experience stays with me, and it's a big part of why I put so much care into keeping owners updated. I also understand that many pets are happiest with someone actually there with them rather than just brief visits, which is why I love house sitting and staying full-time, so your companion has steady company and never comes home to an empty house.
How I care for your pet
I like to start by learning your pet's normal routine and sticking to it closely, since familiar feeding times, walks, and rest keep animals settled and happy while you're away. Before your first booking, I'll ask about their habits, their likes and dislikes, any triggers or anxieties, and the little things that make them feel at home.
I'm happy to give basic medication such as pills and drops when you show me what's needed, and I'll always follow your instructions carefully. Safety comes first for me: I keep a close eye on your pet's wellbeing, secure doors and gates, and stay alert to anything out of the ordinary. If an emergency ever came up, I'd stay calm, follow your instructions, and contact your vet and you straight away.
I also don't like leaving pets on their own for long. I keep the gaps between visits short and check in often, and I'll send you updates and photos so you always know how your companion is doing.

Hi there! I live in Soham with my dog and my son. I have had my own dog, a labrador, for 5 years, and he is as boisterous and friendly as anyone!, as well as walking dogs for my friends.I have a relatively small garden, but I live minutes away from acres of fenland, fields and parks which are perfect for dogwalking. I love dogwalking, and walk my dog twice every day.If you would like me to look after your furry friend, please get in touch, and feel free to ask questions.

Hello! My name is Emma and I'm originally from and currently living in Cambridge and working In a boarding school for international students. I am crazy about animals, and I have grown up with many different cats, dogs, hamsters and guinea pigs.I have experience caring for cats, not just my own, but for friends and family members who have trusted me to look after their pets when on holiday. I have also worked in a petshop and as a dog walker.I've always been especially passionate about cats and at the moment I have a beautiful tortoiseshell cat who is 15 years old and I adore. I think that each animal has its own unique personality and it is important to adapt your care according to their specific needs. As a calm person I also find this helps animals in my company to feel safe.On pet visits I can offer feeds, changing of water bowls, cleaning litter trays, plenty of cuddles (if the animal is comfortable of course) and play. I am happy to discuss other requests according to individual needs. At the moment I am working Full time Monday to Friday from 8.00am-4.00pm so I would be available to visit in the evenings and I am more flexible at weekends.I will stay at least 30 minutes per visit, but happy to discuss timings with you. Please feel free to contact me if you would like me to help you care for your precious pets, and I look forward to hearing from you
