Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Southwell home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Southwell.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Southwell home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I am a 20-year-old full time student studying violin making in Newark. I've had pet cats since I was 6, and they grow old with me. I have pet sat for a couple of families in the past several years. This included staying in their homes with young dogs and puppies, walking dogs and taking care of basic needs and health. I've had experience with some more exotic animals too, including a bearded dragon and a chameleon. I've had to care for farm animals too, namely horses. I have fixed hours for when I need to be in school (as listed below) but otherwise I am flexible, and I am available over the weekends. Unavailable: • Wednesday• Thursday • Friday Whether I am with the pet for 30 minutes or the whole day, please let me know their typical schedule. What and when to feed them, certain routes you take them walking, any particular habits I should be aware of. I aim to keep your pet comfortable and both of us safe. I will accommodate to your pet as best as possible. However, while walking any dog I do not let them off the leade for their safety and your reassurance. I try to match their pace and give them freedom to explore. Please let me know how long your dogs are use to walking and show me their favourite toys. I also do not bring any pets home, as I am in a sharehouse with other instrument makers and the environment is not suitable for pets.

I have loved animals since I was very little, so I decided to do something that involved animals when I grew up!
My parents always used to say I should be a vet, but putting animals to sleep didn't seem right to me! So that's where I have decided this job is just perfect for me, which is why I have chosen to do this as a full-time job.
I have a few years of experience. I started doing this petsitting job now, and I've moved over to Pawshake!
Looking after big dogs in people's homes and my cat and hamster on the side, haha, I hope I hear back from you and we are a good match.
I offer dog sitting, overnight dog walking, and looking after different pets in the comfort of your own home! I will keep you updated with loads of pictures of your fur baby while we are together, so you can rest while you're away and not worry about anything.
I also currently can't accept any pets at my home due to my landlord ️

Throughout my life I have always been around pets, I grew up with my white puddle Brandy, it was my 6th birthday gift, I learned so many responsibilities with him, such as feeding him, taking him for walks and being aware of anything he needed.
I am a student from Venezuela, and becoming a dog sitter in the UK it would be a way for me to express all the affection that I have for Brandy but for distance reasons I cannot give it to him.
I am certain that I can provide a great service! I am a very energetic and cheerful person.
Nothing is more important to me than the relationship between a pet and a human, so when I visit your pet, I will take the time to introduce myself to the pet and make sure it feels at comfortable with me before performing any activities.
My availability would not be a problem because I can adapt to your needs and be there for you when you need me. It can be any time and any day (morning or afternoons).
On my arrival in the UK, I look after a cat for a year in my old house, the responsibilities were the same as with my dog, giving him his food rations, water and being aware of his needs.
Your pet will receive excellent care and entertainment. My full attention will be on your pet at all times, and they will enjoy frequent walks and play sessions. I will keep you informed about how your flurry friend is doing and can send you messages, and photos to let you know everything is well.
Depending on the area where you live, I'll take your dog for a walk to the closest park, where I'll also bring toys to play with him/her.

Hi, I’m a dedicated and experienced pet sitter with a deep passion for animals. I’ve been doing dog walking and pet sitting since 2020, and after taking a short break in 2023, I’m excited to be back doing what I love most—caring for pets. I understand that every pet is unique, and I always take the time to get to know their individual personalities, routines, and needs.
My services are flexible and focused on providing care in your pet’s own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding, companionship, or administering basic medication, I’m here to help keep your pets happy and healthy while you’re away. I’m canine first aid trained and hold a current DBS check for added peace of mind.
I do not take pets into my own home, but I’m happy to care for them in yours. I’m always respectful of your home and your pet’s routine, and I treat every animal as if they were my own.

Heya,
My name is Chloe, I'm 27 and I've recently moved in Nottingham. I love dogs so much, I always have since I was little ! I grew up with mine who's still back home and recently was living with my friends who have a beautiful golden retriever (as you can see in my profile picture hehe). But since they moved, I find myself in dog withdrawal and would love to take care of your little ones and help out !
I am happy to do visits, walks and housesits whenever I'm available. My rota and days off do change quite a bit every week at the moment but I'm free in the evenings after 6. Please do get in touch with me if you require specific dates and I'll try to accommodate :)
I have taken care of my own dog throughout my teen years, and have had my friends's dog over for housesitting many times ! I love to go for long walks and play with my pets to make sure they are engaged and stimulated.
I am looking forward to hearing from anyone who's in need of my services and promise the highest level of care for all your furry friends :)

PS: Please only make an enquiry if you live in Nottingham (city centre or area accessible with the tram/buses) as I don't drive and wouldn't be able to get to you otherwise!

I’m fully insured and DBS checked, and I’m currently studying with the Dog Training College to further develop my knowledge and skills in canine behaviour and training. I offer a range of personalised services including dog walking, home drop-in visits, overnight pet sitting in your own home, puppy visits and general pet care. Every service is tailored to your pet’s individual needs and routine.

As a dog owner of 2 chihuahuas (one is 10 and the other is 20) I value the importance of how hard it is to find people that click with them and that it's not a rushed process....like people we all have our levels of being socially comfortable around others so i like to let amimals go at their own pace to become buddies with me.
I've grown up and looked after lots of creatures from Lizards, rats, Chinchillas, scorpians and toads...i was proudly the guinea pig catcher at junior school too
I love all sizes and breeds of dogs but I feel my strength is with smaller dogs and understand the importance of keeping a close eye on them when taking them for walks out and about...the world is a big place for them!

I love taking pictures and giving updates when pet sitting cats and dogs for friends in the past. I enjoy a cuddle with a moggy too and have alot of good energy to share. I'm also a light sleeper so if you needed a house sitter my ears are as keen as a chihuahuas.

Speaking from experience having the reassurance in a pet sitter is something that you never realise you need until it's time to take a trip or spend a long day at work.
Dogs are legends an cats have the magic of calm energy...all creatures are epic! So if you'd like some help and to put your mind at rest let me know how I can help :)
