Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your St Albans home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like St Albans.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your St Albans home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello there! I'm Pranay Chudasama , and I'm Ready to Share the Love with Your Furry Friend!"As a proud pet owner myself, with four delightful years spent caring for my beloved Shih Tzu, I understand the bond between a pet parent and their fur baby. Being away from my own furry companion has left a void that only the joy of petting and spending time with other dogs can fill.My passion for pet walking stems from my deep love for animals and the therapeutic joy they bring into our lives. Walking and caring for dogs isn't just a hobby for me – it's a way of life. I thrive on the wagging tails, the happy barks, and the unconditional love that dogs offer, and I'm eager to extend that love to your furry friend while you're away. With my experience as a dedicated pet owner and my genuine affection for dogs, you can trust that your pet will be in caring and capable hands. From leisurely strolls to energetic play sessions, I offer tailored services to meet your pet's needs and preferences. Let's make every walk an adventure filled with tail wags and paw prints!

I'm an Art Graduate based in North East London with a kind, approachable nature, currently seeking pet-sitting opportunities to save for a Master’s degree in Art Psychotherapy next year.
Growing up in a small town in North Yorkshire, I had the privilege of living in a household full of animals. We always had cats, and when I became a teenager, my parents added dogs to the family. It was a lively and loving environment, and from a young age, I gained extensive experience in caring for cats and dogs of all sizes and personalities.
As I got older, I began pet-sitting our family dogs for extended periods when my parents traveled for work. This experience, coupled with helping family friends and neighbors with their pets, instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and reliability in animal care. I've always been passionate about animals and enjoy the companionship they bring.
Since moving to London in 2017, I’ve had a busy working life but never miss a chance to pet-sit whenever I can. My partner and I regularly look after his mum’s elderly Jack Russell, Enzo, at our quiet, ground-floor flat in Walthamstow (you’ll spot him in one of my photos).
After recently graduating from art school, I’m excited to offer my pet-sitting services more regularly and professionally. I now have plenty of time and flexibility alongside my part-time job to care for pets, whether for short or extended periods. I primarily work remotely, with minimal in-person commitments, allowing me to provide attentive, reliable care. My only set commitments are on Thursdays when I go into the office and Tuesdays when I volunteer with art classes at Share Community, a disability center in South London.
Pet-sitting brings me great joy and fulfillment, and I’m eager to help others with their beloved animals. I’ve consistently received praise for my friendly, calm, and caring demeanor with animals and am happy to provide references upon request.
If you’re looking for a dependable, compassionate pet-sitter who truly loves and understands animals, I’d be thrilled to help care for your pets!

Hi there,
I'm Roja. I have owned various animals since a child. I live with my mum and we both adore animals, however but we recently have 2 beautiful small breeds dogs which are all in our world. I live in a house with a secure garden. Firmly believe a pet is part of the family and it should be treated as such.
As I love being surrounded by pets, I've always looked after friends and family's cats' dogs. My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from my deep love for animals and the joy I get from caring for them. Pets bring so much happiness and companionship to our lives, and I want to give that back by ensuring they are well-cared for and loved, especially when their owners can’t be there.
Every pet has its own personality, and I find it incredibly rewarding to connect with each one, understanding their needs and making them feel comfortable and happy.
I work from home and my working hours are flexible, apart from gym I'm always at home.

I'm a 30 year old therapist living who works remotely, living in London with my partner in a flat that doesn't allow for animals. As a result we do semi-regular animal house sitting on TrustedHouseSitters, having looked after predominantly small 3-5kg dogs, but also labs and retrievers more recently. I have sat up to 3 dogs at the same time, in case you are looking for someone with experience with multiple dogs simultaneously. I have also looked after dozens of cats too, up to 4 cats simultaneously. As well as doing 7-10 day housesits roughly once a month, I am now looking for some more regular animal interactions in the mornings and evenings before and after work, so that I can bring lots of love and energy to give all your furries as a result, whatever their age or temperament.I have had cats and dogs in my family home in Horsham my entire life but struggle to find the time to see my dog there. My mum struggles with long term health conditions and so I use some of my earnings here and from my private dogsitting business to pay for a dog walker in Horsham to tend to my lovely white fluffy Japanese Spitz.I am happy to walk dogs during Tuesday-Friday for up to 45 minutes before 8am and 45 minutes after 5:30pm provided you live in Harrow. I can offer my services any time on weekends and Mondays, particularly with some notice. I typically stay on lead, unless we do a face to face or virtual walk together where you show me your dogs recall and temperament around other dogs. If your dog prefers running I can also run with your dog on your lead as I'm accomplished at both 5km and 10km and have done lead running with other small dogs before. Finally, regarding housesitting, I am happy to come to your house to feed and play indoors with both dogs and cats. I have a full CRB check in case you wanted assurances given I am Cognitive behavioural therapist for profession.
