Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Benwell home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Benwell.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Benwell home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

My name is Paula Lant and I live and have been Cat Sitting and Dog Walking since 2017. Unfortunately I only cover Jesmond and JesmondVale due to practicality and costs. I adore Cats and Dogs and have over 30 years experience having them as pets.
Currently I have 3 x Siamese (Bertie, Byron & Gilda)and 1 x Oriental (Olive) of my own, they are my life and very precious to me.
I endeavour to provide the very best in care for your pet, offering Dog Walking and Cat sitting on a one to one basis. I offer comprehensive daily and holiday cat sitting with either a choice of one or two recommended visits per day,
Full daily dog sits together with adhock weekend/holiday sits and overnight stays at the pets home are also available.I have an enhanced DBS check and are fully insured.
I am a responsible, reliable and dedicated person who loves what I do, so please get in touch if I can help!

I was bought up on a farm in New Zealand and have had many different pets over the years. Cats have always been a part of my life.I couldn't think of a better animal to have as a pet. I currently have one cat who I absolutely adore. I am required to administer medication to her twice a day, so I have no problem if medication is required for any cat that I may be lucky enough to look after. I have looked after friends cats in the past both in their homes and through daily visits.I have been thinking about taking up cat sitting for some time now, however a busy job has prevented me from doing this. I have very recently retired which now gives me the opportunity to do something I love.I have a current DBS enhanced check and can provide the certificate.
Your cat would be well looked after with me ensuring the same routine that you provide is followed. Feeding, litter tray cleaning, grooming, playing, medication administration and of course as many cuddles as I can give would all be part of the service. For drop in visits I would be with your cat for at least 30 minutes. If I am staying in your home I would be in the house for at least 3-5 hours a day
Play time is very important both for your cat and for me, so that is a must. Grooming is also very soothing for a cat (for those that like it of course) and also for the person doing the grooming.
I will keep a diary of meal times and what your lovely cat has had to eat, along with playtime details. This can be provide during my visit/stay or on your return. Photos will be provided thoughout.
If any emergency was to take place I would keep calm and ensure the cat receives appropriate attention keeping you updated at all times.
When booking with me I will respond to your enquiry quickly and professionally.

Hi I'm Clare,Let me tell you a little about why I am here...I have found myself in a place in my life with no pets of my own. As an animal lover I miss having them around. My last dog Millie unfortunately passed away in 2021. She was a very special little dog and its not quite time yet to bring another dog into our life. Until the time is right to have my own pets again (current living situation not compatible with animals) I have been house sitting mainly Dogs & Cats, with my daughter, over the last few years on the Trusted House Sitters site.I was brought up on a farm, and have had animals around me my whole life. These included dogs, cats, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, poultry, guinea pigs, rabbits, ponies, and horses.I also have had my own pets over the years including horses, dogs and a hamster. My Dad owns and trains greyhounds. I held a kennal hand licence in the past as I helped to take care of them. This included walking them and taking them to the races.I worked in horse racing yards as a teenager.I have certificates in NVQ Level 1 horse care, NVQ Level 2 Racehorse care, Health & Safety Emergency First Aid and Animal Care and Pet First Aid & CPR Training I have a daughter who is 15yrs old currently, and has experience of dog and cat sitting with me from the Trusted House Sitter House sits. She would be accompanying me on the pet sittings. She is a cat lover and very good with shy timid animals, like cats and small dogs.During a House Sit or House Call you would get regular updates and if requested photos/videos.The dog walks can be anything from a 30 minute to an hour walk. Longer walks are available if requested.

Hi! I’m a passionate dog and cat lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while their owners are away. I’ve grown up around cats and dogs and have always been the person friends and family trust to look after their pets. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I always take the time to get to know them and make them feel comfortable.
Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with plenty of cuddles, I’ll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I believe pets are family, and I’ll treat yours as if they were my own.
I offer dog walking, home visits, and pet sitting, depending on what works best for you and your dog. If your dog stays with me, they’ll enjoy a calm, caring environment where they’ll never be treated as “just another booking.”
I’m comfortable caring for friendly dogs of all sizes and breeds, provided they’re well-socialised and up to date with their vaccinations. Before any booking, I’d love to arrange a meet-and-greet so we can make sure we’re the perfect match. I’ll also happily send regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your furry friend is having a great time.
My goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind while giving your dog a fun, loving, and stress-free experience. I can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged best friend!

I'm local to North Shields and I work fully remote from home, so I'm very happy to do longer sits in your home, e.g. if you go away on holiday or shorter stints (e.g. lunchtime dog walk or house visit) - Just whatever is easiest for you and your furry friend(s)! I love dogs and cats in particular, and I'm happy to look after more than one pet. I can make myself available as long as I have a bit of notice and I'm happy to just do daytime walks / visits too. I've grown up with animals, my parents currently have a tibeten terrier who I often look after when they go away on holiday or if they just need a helping hand. Please do feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you'd like any further information about me or my availability.

Since I was a kid, I have been passionate about animals. In my childhood, I had a dog, cats, birds, and rabits. In the past few years, I had a lizard, a cat, and a big fish tank. In my free time, I like to go to parks and feed pigeons, swans, and seagulls. When I see dogs around me, I simply ask their owners if I can pat their dogs. My friends think that I like pets more than humans! In fact only pets lovers will understand how the companionship of pets, especially dogs and cats, can comfort a human being.
I may not be able to take care of your pet where I live because it is student accommodation, but I will be more than happy to walk your dogs anytime in my breaks (morning, afternoon and at night).I prefer to have and be around vaccinated pets, as this is important for the safety and well being of the animal and the community.
I can understand owners' concern because watching pictures and videos of my cat "Linguine" playing made me happy when I had to travel and leave him with a pet sitter. That is why I'm more than happy to provide you with updated pictures of your buddy.
I care for my friends and family and have good communication skills. I'm also a member of Protection of Volunerable Group (PVG) scheme in Scotlans and advanced Disclosure and barring Services for children and adults (DBS) in England. And a volunteer at Guide Dog as well.
By the way, the pixture if me with the pigeons was taken by a professional photographer who spotted me feeding pigeons.
