Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Waterlooville home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Waterlooville.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Waterlooville home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello, I’m Tony — a lifelong dog lover taking the exciting step into full-time dog walking.
Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with family pets taught me patience, understanding, and just how much joy a dog can bring to everyday life. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities — from energetic puppies who want to explore everything, to gentle seniors who enjoy a slower pace.
What’s always stayed the same is my belief that every dog deserves kindness, respect, and plenty of love. I have patience for every personality and truly enjoy getting to know what makes each dog unique. I've always been a firm beleiver in patience from day one with any dog!
Services include, a free meet n greet to make myself, owner and dog are happy. A 30 min dog walk for £7, 1hour walk for £15, a home visit for £10 (to check food n water and offer toilet break at home), £10 pet transport (for Vets or Groomers etc).
All walks are catered to dog age and personality. A senior dog may need a short simple walk local to home. A young active dog may need a good off lead run and socialisation in a local field. Again anxiousness and reactiveness are strongly taken into account for safety.

We grew up with dogs of our own of various breeds who had been an integral part of the family dynamics. As well as cats and birds. Over last two years we have been looking after pets of our friends and colleagues when they travell and so we now offer care to the pets who's owners need to delegate it for short periods of time.
Times of care are flexible with a both AM/PM and the 7 days of the week available prior to agreement. Services other than feeding, walking and playing could include partial grooming and some basic training.
Walks are timed as minimun of 30 minutes up to 2 hours. While the home visits and home sitting are agreed on the individual basis as needed. Plants and mail is taken care of during home visits.
Ideally the dogs are taken to a nearest park or green area for a walk. Unless there is a preferred and familiar route due to behavioural nuanses.
My partner and I both work busy and at times stressful careers in NHS and so it's a great feeling to have animals around you in your free time. Its also something that we enjoy doing as a couple with our children now all being teenagers.
We welcome offers for up to 3 dogs and / or cats at a tone. As well as outside farm animals and birds kept in the house. Limited experience with reptiles but happy to discuss.

Hello! My name is Rachel, and I am a dedicated and passionate pet sitter. As a pet owner myself, with five healthy and happy cats at home, I understand the immense love and care that pets require. My motivation to become a pet sitter stems from my lifelong affection for animals and my desire to provide them with the best possible care when their owners are away.
Growing up, I always had pets around me, starting with small dogs that were my companions throughout my childhood. When I got my first pet, a rabbit, I learned the importance of responsibility and empathy towards animals.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in pet sitting, ensuring that each pet feels comfortable, loved, and well-cared-for in my presence. Whether it's feeding, walking, playing, or simply providing companionship, I am committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for every pet I look after.
In my pet sitting services, I prioritize the health and well-being of the animals. I only accept vaccinated pets to ensure the safety of all the pets in my care, as well as my own. I am well-versed in administering medications and handling pets with special needs, making sure they receive the attention they deserve.
My home is pet-friendly, filled with cozy spaces and plenty of toys to keep your furry friends entertained. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing personalized care and attention to meet their unique needs. Trust me to be your reliable and friendly pet sitter, and rest assured that your pets will be in loving hands while you are away.

I have had dogs all my life, and I had a family cat from November to when I moved out in April! I have had three large/giant breed dogs and I had a 3 legged rabbit for 8 years who is greatly missed! I bathed my dogs many times and towards the end of their lives had to think of new ways to try and give them medications. My old dog was a nervous and reactive dog, so I always took great care when she was out walking in the neighbourhood, and I was always careful with my friendly dog due to other dogs' reactivity on walks.
I live with my partner and have no pets in our home permanently, as it is a bit small for an animal full-time! I am available for dog walking and pet sitting in client homes. I also work with children and young people, so I have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate! I have a Level 3 Animal Care and Management BTEC, and originally wanted to be a veterinary nurse, but decided it was not for me. If needed, I can bathe and give animals a brush, provided this is recommended for them and the products are provided, e.g. no bathing rabbits or cats. I do also have a car with a dog cover so if longer walks are needed then please request these!
I love animals and have done since I was young. There have been a variety of animals in my home, like hamsters, ferrets, rats, rabbits and I have grown up with smaller dogs also! I would like to be a sitter at the moment on the weekends to earn a little bit of money, what better way to spend the day than with animals! Please note that if any specific requests are needed for 24 hour care then to discuss this with me individually as I may need to ask for a higher price e.g. certain hours or more than one pet at the home.

Ever since I was little I have been surrounded by cats. I especially have a soft spot for rescue and senior cats.Black cats in particular as there are lots of miss conceptions about them and are more difficult to rehome in a rescue.I have lots of previous experience in being a cat sitter and caring for animals. Its great to meet new people and their furry friends.I do drop in visits in my local area and overnight stays too for cats which need closer monitoring.Vists are 1 hour and you will receive daily updates. I do all the usual such as feeding and changing litter trays.Putting the rubbish bins out and watering plants. I play and entertain your cats taking lots of photos and videos so you know they are in good hands.I experience with raw feeding and I can give medication supplements.I have experience with shy and more cautious cats. And of course super energetic cats who need lots of enrichment and stimulating play.I am happy to care for cats with specialist needs such as asthma.

Hi, I’m Hannah – Owner of The Wags & Whiskers Co - Pet Lover & Trusted Companion

Caring for animals has always come naturally to me. Whether it’s a playful pup, a curious cat, or a senior pet who just wants a little peace and quiet, I take the time to understand what makes each one tick. I treat every pet like they’re my own—with patience, kindness, and a good dose of belly rubs.

I’ve worked with all kinds of personalities and temperaments, and I know how important it is for pet parents to feel confident and relaxed when they’re away on holiday or out at work. I’m reliable, easygoing, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals—it’s the best part of my day.

A few things I bring to the table:

• Calm, caring approach tailored to each pet
• Dependable and communicative
• Lots of experience with dogs, cats, and more
• A genuine love for what I do

I’m proud to own The Wags & Whiskers Co, helping pets feel happy and safe while giving their humans peace of mind.

I’ve had cats & dogs all my life, I absolutely adore all sizes of dogs, all ages of dogs and I love going on a dog walk and making friends with every dog I meet! I also love all cats, I'm definitely more a cat man than a dog man but will always love your baby as if they're mine
I will always abide to the owners rules. If the dog cannot go upstairs or cat cannot go out I will ensure that the stair gate is closed, cat flap locked and make sure before I leave that your pet is safe inside, any medication needed to be taken & make sure the owner & the dog both feel comfortable

I am very excited to play with dogs / cats. I love to walk dogs, play with animals & make sure that the pet is stimulated

Let me know any medication needed and how often etc.

I adore all breeds so I do not have a preference on what breed of cat / dog

I am unfortunately not able to dog sit within my home due to owning a cat however I am comfortable in dog sitting at the owners home.

Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s been raising dogs since I was 14—now 25 and still completely obsessed with all things furry (and feathery!). Back home in Myanmar, I had a Golden Retriever, Husky, and Poodle, and I miss them every day.
I’ve also cared for cats, birds, hamsters—even a rabbit or two! Being around animals makes me feel at home, and I’d love to turn that passion into something meaningful while I’m here. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or just being their new best friend, your pets are in loving hands with me!
With me, your pet gets more than just a walk—they get a buddy! I offer fun, safe dog walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and care A typical day includes tail wags, fetch marathons, sniff-and-stroll adventures, and lots of belly rubs.I treat every pet like my own whether we’re chasing a ball or just chilling together. Basically, I show up, your pet lights up. Let’s be furry friends!

I have owned cats and dogs and will take care of your pet as if it were my own. I will offer enrichment, cuddles and exercise to your pet. I have a good level of knowledge about dog training and behaviour and a good understanding of body language. I look forward to connecting with you and caring for your pet.
I work full time but I am looking to do some pet sitting on the side to have a little bit of extra income as well as spend time with animals, as we are not able to have our own pet at the moment. I work from home each Wednesday so have more flexibility for walks / sitting on a Wednesday. Otherwise it would need to be mornings / evenings and weekends.
I love cats and dogs and would prefer to take care of small and medium dogs, unless they are very well behaved large dogs.
I enjoy being outside so walking in all weathers will not be an issue. I have cared for my own elderly cat, and gone through the puppy training stage with a stubborn whippet!

I’ve always had a special connection with cats—their unique personalities, quiet companionship, and independent yet affectionate nature truly resonate with me. Growing up in a household with multiple cats, I learned early on how to care for them, understand their body language, and respect their space. Whether it's feeding, grooming, playing, or simply providing a calm presence, I enjoy every aspect of being around cats.
My motivation to be a cat sitter comes from both my love for felines and my desire to help cat owners feel at ease when they're away. I know how sensitive cats can be to changes in their environment or routine, and I take pride in offering gentle, reliable, and attentive care that keeps them feeling safe and comfortable in their own home. Every cat is different, and I take the time to get to know each one individually—because they deserve nothing less than thoughtful, loving care.

Hello fellow ‘crazy about cats’ folk! My name is Caroline and I am a mature lady with a real passion for cats. I also love dogs; in fact I kept large dogs (German Shepherds) for over thirty years although now I only have cats. I'm very happy to visit and feed your hounds though.
Previously I have worked in the criminal justice system for years and have always had to be DBS checked - you can rely on me for reliability, discretion and honesty.
I have had cats around me all my life. As a child, we had Siamese cats, but latterly I have always had rescue mogs. My current boy is the most amazing of all time and I am besotted!
I am flexible, responsible and totally reliable and can adapt my services to suit the personality of your cat or dog. I have had cats only for the past 21 years, so I have pretty good catty credentials.
I am happy to refill bowls, unfill litter trays (!) and offer cuddles and laps (when invited to do so) by your puss.
For your dogs, I am happy to let them out, feed them and give them some scratches and tummy rubs (if they want me to.)
I am now offering overnight house sitting for cats and small, well behaved dogs which I am also happy to walk.
I can offer unparalleled love and attention coupled with genuine respect for your home and security.
Happy to take on last minute requirements if I can. Let me know if you have any questions!
