Top cities for house sitting in United Kingdom

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your West Sussex home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like West Sussex.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your West Sussex home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hello! My name is Sophie and I am a 26 year old working professional.
I have experience living with both dogs and cats and am very much an animal lover! I have a beautiful cockapoo called Bella who is 10 and a gorgeous cat called Mochi who is 4.
I love cuddles with animals and am an avid walker. I would love to take your doggy out for a walk or come and house sit for you (as long as I get lots of cuddles!).
I am advanced DBS checked as work full time within the police force. I am reliable, trustworthy and understand the pressures of work life balance and how important it is for our pets to get the attention they need throughout the working week.
I offer dog walking services, or dog/cat sitting services too, whether that be popping in for a bit during the day or staying the night to look after your pets! I am flexible and open to any service you may require.
I would love to look after your pet when you need it, so please do reach out and we can chat more!️

Hi, I’m Lucy and I have a springer spaniel called Rico, who is the most loving and affectionate dog I’ve ever known. He’s full of energy, gives endless cuddles, and just wants to be everyone’s best friend. I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone who truly cares, and I would treat any dog I look after as if they were my own. Although I don’t have professional pet-sitting experience, I’ve grown up with dogs and know how much love and attention they need. I work 7:30-12:30 three times a week.

My services and prices:
Check In's:
15/20 minute check in (cats & dogs) £8
30/45 minute check in (cats & dogs) £10
1 hour check in £15
Overnight Pet Sitting:
Overnight stay with cats & small animals - £30
Overnight stay with dogs £35 (including one - two walks per day).
Dog Walking
30 minute walk £8
1 hour walk- £12.50
any extra dogs an added £5
Due to Rico not being neutered, we’d prefer to do pet-sitting in your home, while my dad takes care of Rico. I’m patient, reliable and love all animals — I’d be honoured to help care for your furry friend.
I have a fiat 500 so for dog walking and transportation of a dog I will need them to fit within my fiat 500. We can discuss walking your dog on a lead or not in private.
I have bowls, leads, and a dog bed, and loads of balls and toys.

Thank you so much! I would love to help dog owners out :)

I've always loved being around animals, so pet sitting is the perfect way for me to do something I enjoy while helping pet owners at the same time. Growing up with dogs, horses and cats, I know how important it is to make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for—especially when their owners are away.
I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel comfortable, whether that’s through play, walks, or just a good cuddle on the sofa. I want all dogs to feel they are at a home away from home and to give them the care and attention they deserve while giving owners peace of mind.
I also know how reassuring it is to get updates while you're away, so I always send plenty of photos and messages so you can see how your pet is doing.
I have plenty of experience looking after pets of all different shapes and sizes and am very happy to share references with anyone wanting to book with me.
All dogs staying with me must be vaccinated

Hi, I'm Angela, a lifetime-long cat and dog lover. I offer pet-sitting, staying with your animal(s) in YOUR home, not mine, in West Sussex and the East Midlands.About me: I grew up in a household with 3 cats and a border collie, and in my adulthood I've had 4 dogs and 2 cats of my own, all now sadly gone. I've sat for many friends' and family's pets over the years and absolutely love looking after and spending time with animals. I don't want a full-time pet of my own at this point of my life, but pet-sitting fits my lifestyle really well. I'm in my 50s now and I'm partially disabled (I walk slowly with a stick), but rest assured: I can manage a flight of stairs, do short walks, and bend to pick up the dog poop! What I offer: I'm available to stay at your home to look after your cats, or your small to medium sized dogs which don't require long walks or a huge amount of exercise. I'm also happy to pet-sit for elderly dogs of any size - and I prefer a maximum of 3 animals at a time. I'm used to giving medications including injections, and have a level 3 certificate in animal healthcare. I'm particularly good with shy or nervous cats and dogs needing a calm gentle reassuring person who can give them the space they need to feel comfortable and safe, as well as cuddles if they want them. I cannot pet-sit for very energetic or aggressive dogs.Setting up the pet-sit will start with us chatting to discuss the animals and dates, confirm the location, and arrange a home visit where I will come to meet both you and your pets - and I'll ask lots of questions about their feeding, walking and bedtime routines, play, likes and dislikes, treats, poop and pee requirements, plus contact details for you while you are away and for your local vet in case of any emergencies. This home visit is included within my pet-sitting fee.(If it isn't possible to do the home visit in advance, I'll come a day or two before the pet-sit to go through these details with you.) Please understand that I won't do a pet-sit if a home visit hasn't already taken place beforehand - both you and I need to feel safe and secure about me coming to stay in your home with your pet(s) while you are away.During the pet-sit: I will follow all your instructions on taking care of your pet(s). I will contact you daily with updates, photos or videos and to check with you if I have any extra questions. If there is an emergency - with your pet or your home - I will act quickly to assess the situation and determine if it's something I can deal with or whether outside help is required. This will include giving first aid and getting your pet to a vet if necessary - and I will keep you updated throughout. I will bring my own food and drinks for the duration - I'm a non-smoker, don't drink alcohol, and I'll clean up after myself . I don't need an extensive kitchen, I'll be happy if you just have a microwave and an air fryer, plus some fridge space! I also won't be inviting friends over to your home - I'll bring my laptop so I'll want to connect into your WiFi to do some online research, and I'll probably sing to your pet as well (I'm a writer and a singer).Where and when: I'm available around Brighton / Worthing / Chichester and also Derby / Nottingham / Leicester, as I have family and friends in both areas. I need at least 2 weeks' notice in advance for a pet-sit.

Experienced & Caring Pet Sitter Hi, I’m Sian
I’m a friendly, reliable and experienced animal lover with many years of hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals.
Animals are a huge part of my life. I have my own horses and rabbits and I’m confident caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals. Being a horse owner also means I’m very used to the responsibility that comes with looking after animals every single day, whatever the weather!
I offer dog walking, home visits, pet sitting and small-animal care. Home visits can include feeding, fresh water, toilet breaks, litter tray cleaning, playtime, cuddles and plenty of attention. I’m also happy to send photos and updates so you know how your pet is getting on while you’re away.
Dog walks can be tailored to your dog’s individual needs, whether they enjoy a relaxed sniffy walk or something a little more energetic. I’m happy to discuss the length of walks and visits depending on your pet and their normal routine.
I’m also confident caring for rabbits and other small animals, including feeding, fresh water, cleaning and general welfare checks.
As an experienced horse owner, I’m also comfortable around horses and can discuss horse feeding and welfare checks where appropriate.
I understand how worrying it can be leaving your animals in someone else’s care. I will always follow your instructions carefully and treat your pets with the same kindness, patience and attention that I give my own.
I’m happy to arrange a meet and greet beforehand so you and your pets can get to know me. ️

Recently through here, I am currently walking 11 year old Maisy the dog (5th pic) every week and would love the chance to walk and care for maybe yours especially consistently. Any other animals, I'm welcome to. I've wanted to be with dogs for long and now its a reality. Whatever guidance to take care of your one, I'm all for. I listen, am very friendly, communicative and enjoy company valuably. Dogs mean so much as they are good companions, and to have that as a reliable person is very appealing especially in trust. Hit me up, I'm ready! My services involve feeding, walking, bonding, playing, adhering to principals, sitting and whatever the client would like to add or suggest. If you like my contact details too, we can do that and see where the path goes. Let me know timings, days, longevity and we'll work it all out. I look forward to hearing and interacting with you.

Hi! I’m a reliable, caring, and motivated upcoming pet sitter with a genuine lifelong love for animals. I’m 19 years old, have a full driving licence, and have many years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
My love for animals started from a very young age growing up around horses, dogs, cats, and even snakes, so being around animals has always been a huge part of my life. My first job at 15 was working at my local dog kennels, which I absolutely loved and where I gained valuable experience handling and caring for dogs in a professional environment.
I have plenty of experience with horses as i rode up until i was 13 years old as-well as looking after friends and family's horses whilst carrying out basic yard duties for them. My family has always had dogs and cats so i have grown up around them which has taught me so much about them and how to care for them. Working in the kennels has given me the confidence to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. Whether they are reactive towards new people or other animals or they're just scared of new people i am willing to take the time to help your animal get comfortable with me to ensure they are happy.
I can accommodate to your pets needs wether that might be that they need a longer walk to get all there energy out or a shorter one for the oldies, if they need to be fed at a certain time or be given basic medication. When walking your dogs i can take up to 2 at a time and like said previously for as long or as short as needed.
I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, happy, and well looked after while you’re away, and I always treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply calm company, I’m happy to adapt to their individual personality and routine. I am also in the process of finding a pet first aid course to enroll on to ensure your pets are safe at all times. I am available any time throughout the week.
I’m attentive, patient, and committed to making sure your pet feels comfortable and stress-free in your absence. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your furry friend is in good hands!
