I’m an experienced pet owner and animal lover based in Barry, with plenty of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes and personalities.

I had my own Jack Russell, Rosie, for 12 years (who I now have tattooed on my arm), and I currently have a very spoilt cat called Remi (he's not fat, just big boned), so I understand both the joy and responsibility that comes with having pets as part of the family.

I currently volunteer as a dog walker at Cardiff Dogs Home, where I spend time with and walk dogs from a variety of backgrounds, each with their own personalities, needs and energy levels.

Over the years, I’ve also looked after a Chihuahua puppy, regularly walked a young (very energetic) Labrador and dog-sat a Red Fox Labrador for a friend. I’m comfortable around a range of dogs, from small breeds and puppies to larger, energetic dogs.

Dog walks: I’m offering walks in and around Barry and am happy to adapt each one to your dog. I know some dogs want a good energetic walk (I’m more than happy to take them on a hike with me), while others would much rather take their time sniffing absolutely everything along the way. I’ll follow your usual walking routine, including any instructions around leads, other dogs, treats or recall, and make sure they have fresh water when we get home. I’m also happy to send you a photo and little update after our walk.

Home visits: I can also offer one or two home visits per day (depending on the day for 2) for both dogs and cats. I can feed them, refresh water, clean litter trays, let dogs out for toilet breaks and, most importantly, give them plenty of company, fuss and playtime (if they want it as I know cats make the rules). I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible and send you photo updates so you know they’re happy and settled.

I know trusting somebody else with your pet (or if you’re like me, your child) can be nerve-racking, so I’d ideally like to meet you and your pet beforehand. That gives them a chance to get comfortable with me and lets you tell me everything I need to know about their personality, routine, behaviour and any little quirks I should know about. I’m also very happy to send photo updates so you can relax knowing they’re safe and happy.

I work full-time but work from home two days a week (Tuesdays and Fridays), giving me some weekday daytime availability as well as evenings and weekends. My availability varies, so feel free to message me and we can see what works for you and your pet.
