About Rob
Hi! We’re Rob and Sara, and we live with our daughters, aged 13 and 11, and our very friendly three-year-old Cockapoo, Alf.
We’re very much a dog-loving family. We both grew up with dogs and, before Alf, our family included a Staffie and a Boxer. We’ve also looked after friends’ dogs over the years and have always loved having another furry companion around the house.
We don’t want another dog of our own full-time, but we thought home boarding would be a lovely way to give Alf some occasional company while giving another dog a genuine home-from-home experience.
We only board one guest dog at a time, so there won’t be lots of unfamiliar dogs coming and going. Your dog will simply become part of our family while they’re here, alongside Alf, with plenty of attention, company and cuddles.
We have a large house and secure, fully fenced garden, and visiting dogs are free to make themselves at home and roam around the house and garden rather than being restricted to one area. We’re happy for them to sleep wherever they feel most comfortable, including on the bed if that’s what they’re used to! As Cockapoo owners ourselves, we completely understand that some dogs really do want to be wherever their humans are.
We both work from home, so someone is usually around throughout the day. We may occasionally pop out, but your dog would rarely be left alone for long and will have lots of human company throughout their stay.
We’re happy to follow your dog’s usual feeding, sleeping and walking routine as closely as possible, including preparing their usual meals, so that their stay feels familiar and relaxed.
Walks are a big part of life here. We live directly behind a park, which is perfect for shorter everyday walks, and we’re also close to South Norwood Country Park, Kelsey Park, Beckenham Place Park and Crystal Palace. We generally walk three to four times a day and often head further afield for longer park or woodland walks at weekends.
We have a particular soft spot for Cockapoos and similar friendly, sociable dogs, although we’re very happy to welcome other breeds too. Our home boarding is best suited to small and medium-sized dogs, so unfortunately we’re not able to accommodate large breeds.
As we have children and our own resident dog, visiting dogs need to be comfortable in a family home, friendly with children and able to get along happily with Alf. Alf is an intact male, so unfortunately we’re unable to accept unspayed female dogs.
Most importantly, because we only welcome one guest dog at a time, we can give your dog the individual care, attention and affection we’d want Alf to receive if he were staying away from home.
We look forward to meeting you and your pet!
