I’m a highly attentive pet carer, and I like to treat looking after an animal as a collaborative effort between me and the animal themselves. Every pet has their own personality and their own way of communicating what they want, so I try to pay attention to that rather than treating every animal exactly the same. Sometimes they want attention and play, sometimes they want exercise, and sometimes they just want some space. I currently have two young cats of my own and I’m very hands-on with their care. I’ve even custom-built litter boxes for them, so keeping animals and their environment clean and comfortable is something I take seriously. For home visits, I charge £10 for one 30-minute visit per day, or £15 for two 30-minute visits per day. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, toilet breaks for dogs, play, attention and general tidying around the animal. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine and can provide updates and photos while you’re away. For dog walking, I charge £10 for a minimum 30-minute walk. I live in Birmingham city centre, so I’m conveniently located for many areas around the centre. Walks can take place at nearby parks or along the canals, depending on what suits the dog. I’ll follow their normal exercise routine and your instructions, and can adapt the walk to their energy levels and needs. I also offer doggy day care in my own home for £20 per day. I’ll start with close supervision and give a dog more independence as they become comfortable. They’ll have access to my living room and bedroom, as well as supervised exploration of the communal corridors if they enjoy having some extra space to walk around. I also have access to a roof terrace, which can provide another option for supervised exercise, fresh air and exploration. They would never be left unattended in communal areas or on the terrace. I also offer house sitting in the owner’s home, including overnight stays. I’ll keep to your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, while also keeping the home tidy and secure. Before looking after a new pet, I’ll make sure I understand their routine, food, exercise requirements, personality, boundaries and any other important instructions. I’m also happy to administer oral medication where clear instructions are provided. I’m currently fully available and can be flexible with timings where possible. I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs, although animals staying in my home need to be comfortable around other animals because I have two friendly, energetic young cats. Because I live in a flat, I’m best suited to cats and smaller dogs for home-based day care.
